Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 462: Chapter 476: The Gap Between People

An Ran was left with no other choice, so she bought some medication from the pharmacy and took An Sicheng back to the hotel.

”Sis, was that brother-in-law just now?” An Sicheng asked through gritted teeth, enduring the pain.

”No,” An Ran replied while applying the medication.

An Sicheng pouted, but a slight movement tugged at the wound on his lip, making him hiss in pain.

”Mom said you found a wealthy man and left. Seeing that man just now, I thought he was brother-in-law. But Sis, that man treats you really well. His gaze when looking at you was very gentle.” Besides, that man looked either rich or noble at a glance.

”Mom said that to you?” An Ran hadn’t expected Sun Xuehui to use that excuse with the family. No wonder neither An Youcai nor An Sicheng had sought her out after she severed foster care ties with the An Family.

An Sicheng nodded, ”Isn’t it true?”

Ha, An Ran didn’t feel like explaining anymore. People like Sun Xuehui had nothing to do with her, and furthermore, the An Family had nothing to do with her anymore.

An Ran didn’t nod nor deny, instead she changed the topic, ”Forget about me. What’s your deal? How did you get involved with the Su Family?”

When the Su Family was mentioned, An Sicheng’s eyes darkened visibly.

It turned out that during the winter holiday, An Sicheng had joined a cycling activity organized for enthusiasts across the country.

It was during this event that he met Su Jingyan from the Imperial City, who was Su Jinghao’s younger sister.

The two teenagers, experiencing their first love, quickly fell for each other.

The admiration of youth is so pure, perhaps it’s the warmth of a smile, a greeting, or a thrilling hand-holding.

After the event ended, the two continued to stay in touch, messaging each other daily.

Then one day, Su Jingyan’s messages stopped altogether, and none of An Sicheng’s messages received a reply—they vanished into the vast ocean, and her phone was always switched off.

After the Spring Festival, he eagerly headed to the Imperial City.

”Sicheng, the Su Family is not a family we can afford to provoke. You are still young, focus on your studies.”

After saying this, An Ran couldn’t help but rub her forehead; she hadn’t imagined she’d be teaching such solemn lessons herself someday.

”Sis, there’s no need for you to say, I understand everything. I just want to see her once, and then I can give up.”

It was An Sicheng’s first time in the Imperial City. After finding the Su Family’s residence, he saw their majestic European-style villa, romantic and solemn, with its towering gate and the robust guards at the entrance.

Just one glance and he realized the disparity between people.

The An Family was somewhat well-known in Pingxi, but they only lived in a spacious four-bedroom apartment, and recently bought a duplex residence before the new year.

With his status, he felt unworthy of Su Jingyan. However, after half a month with no news, he simply wanted to confirm if she was alright.

But he couldn’t even get near her house, let alone see her.

In desperation, he climbed over the wall but was discovered by the bodyguards.

”It’s good to know. Stay in the hotel these two days, don’t go anywhere. Wait until you recover and then return to Pingxi. As for Su Jingyan, Sicheng, you’re still young. Your path ahead is long. I believe in your capabilities, and one day you can stand side by side with her.”

An Ran patted his shoulder with a determined look.

An Sicheng suddenly looked up, meeting An Ran’s gaze, feeling a surge of emotions within him.
