Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 455: Chapter 469 Waiting for News

She doesn’t know when it started, but his presence has already occupied most of her life. These five days since he left have truly felt like years.

In the first two days, she finished all her winter break homework.

Then, she read through all the books once more, but this only took two days as well.

Today, she could no longer find anything to do, so after breakfast, she returned to her room and stared at her phone, waiting for that familiar display.

”Ring...”

A phone rang, and An Ran rushed out of the bedroom, seeing the maid already answering the call.

Despite the era, which has grown accustomed to mobile phones, the old house still had a telephone, especially for Grandpa Mu and Grandma Mu, who were more reliant on it.

According to the family, Mu Xingfeng also preferred to call the landline when contacting home.

The maid said a few words into the phone and looked over at Mu Wanxin, who was watching TV. ”Miss, it’s Miss Ya’s call.”

Mu Wanxin glanced at An Ran at the top of the stairs, stroked her forehead with a smile, gestured to Grandma Mu, and took the call.

Grandma Mu naturally understood her granddaughter’s intentions. Even if An Ran didn’t say it, anyone with eyes could see how much she missed their grandson.

Seeing An Ran’s disappointed look, Grandma Mu waved her over, ”Ran, come keep Grandma company and watch TV.”

An Ran agreed and walked over to sit beside Grandma Mu.

”Ran, have you finished all your homework?” Grandma Mu asked with concern.

”Yes, it’s all done. Grandma, has Mu Xingfeng called home the past few days?” she finally couldn’t help but ask.

She couldn’t help it. It had been five days without a word. She couldn’t stop worrying over the gunshot wound on his chest.

Although she had been staying at home, she felt it might be possible he called Mu Zhenzong and his wife instead since she had cried and shouted about wanting a divorce the day he left.

Old Mr. Mu then looked up from his newspaper, ”No, maybe that boy forgot. Tasks in the Guard Team can’t just be reported to the outside. Don’t worry, Xingfeng won’t get into trouble.”

”Oh, I understand,” An Ran replied sullenly, turning to watch TV with Grandma Mu, though she didn’t register a single thing on the screen.

Mu Wanxin hung up the call and ran over, ”Ran, go change your clothes. Big Sis will take you out for some fun.”

”Yeah, let your sister take you out for a bit. Young people shouldn’t stay at home cooped up with us all the time. And don’t worry about Xingfeng, your grandpa already said he won’t be in trouble. It’s been like this for years, we are all used to it. You need to get used to it too.”

Grandma Mu also chimed in.

An Ran couldn’t decline, so she went upstairs to change.

As she closed the door, her face puffed up in frustration.

She sat on the bed, picked up the marriage certificate from the nightstand, stared at the man’s slightly smirking face next to hers, and jabbed it hard with her finger.

”Instructor Mu, I made a lot of effort to decide to talk to you. If you still ignore me, I won’t say anything to you again. When you return, I’ll file for divorce,” An Ran muttered angrily, finally venting with another, ”Divorce.”

After saying that, she threw the marriage certificate on the pillow and sprawled on the big bed, grabbing her phone and staring at it for a moment before crumpling her hair in frustration.

She never knew waiting for news from someone could be so tormenting. She realized she might actually go crazy if it continued like this.
