Peerless Medical Emperor

SLAP! Chen Yuan struck Yao Shufen across the face. ”Please refrain from being so vulgar,” he said coldly.

Chen Yuan’s action utterly infuriated Yao Shufen. She started screaming and making a scene, even trying to hit him. But Chen Yuan stood there fearlessly, watching her with a cold gaze.

”You should save your strength,” Chen Qingdi said, stepping forward. ”If you dare move recklessly again,” he added coldly, ”I’ll seal your acupuncture points and make you lie quietly for a few days.”

Chen Qingdi’s words terrified Yao Shufen. She stared at him, unable to believe her ears. But Chen Qingdi paid her no mind, turning to Chen Yuan and saying, ”Take care of it.”

Chen Yuan handled everything swiftly.

He sealed Yao Shufen’s acupuncture points, leaving her to lie obediently on the bed.

Witnessing this scene, Shen Mingyue felt her heart pound with fear. She knew she had no way out and could only rely on Chen Qingdi.

”Qingdi, isn’t this going a bit too far?” Shen Mingyue asked hesitantly.

”What’s not good about it?” Chen Qingdi said coldly. ”This is for your own good.”

「Three days later.」 Chen Yuan stepped through the hospital’s main entrance and headed toward Yao Shufen’s room. He knew deep down that this meeting would not be peaceful.

He pushed open the door to the hospital room and immediately saw Yao Shufen lying in bed, her face a little pale. Chen Yuan walked to the bedside and spoke with a smile, ”Mrs. Yao, are you feeling any better? I’ve come to visit you.”

Hearing his voice, Yao Shufen’s eyes fluttered open. She looked at Chen Yuan, a trace of confusion and vigilance in her gaze. ”What are you doing here?”

Chen Yuan sat down by the bed and chuckled softly. ”I am the acting chairman and general manager of the Bright Moon Company. It’s only right that I come to visit you.”

Yao Shufen’s brow furrowed. ”What right do you have to be the general manager of the Bright Moon Company? The Bright Moon Company belongs to my daughter, Shen Mingyue! What kind of sedative did you give her to make her hand over the GM position to you?”

Chen Yuan sighed inwardly. He knew that with an elder like Yao Shufen, the only way to make her understand was through explanation.

”Mrs. Yao, please don’t worry. I’m only managing the company temporarily. Shen Mingyue has some matters to attend to right now. When she returns, I will give the general manager position back to her,” Chen Yuan explained patiently.

But Yao Shufen wasn’t buying it. She sneered, ”Easy for you to say! Who knows if you’re lying? I’m going to report you to the investigation team and have them arrest you!”

Chen Yuan frowned. He didn’t want conflict with Yao Shufen, but he also didn’t want to be misunderstood. He took a deep breath, deciding to let his actions speak for him.

”Mrs. Yao, I know you don’t believe me right now, but I will prove my sincerity through my actions.” As Chen Yuan spoke, he suddenly reached out and pressed Yao Shufen’s pressure points. ”For now, just rest quietly. I’m going to have a word with the doctor.”

Yao Shufen’s body went limp, and she found herself unable to speak.

Chen Yuan instructed the doctor, ”Let this crazy woman stay here for now. Anytime she causes a scene, just give her a shot of tranquilizer.”

The doctor nodded in understanding. Chen Yuan turned and left the room. He knew he needed to deal with company matters as quickly as possible, while also figuring out a way to get Yao Shufen to calm down.

Walking down the corridor, Chen Yuan considered his next move. He knew the situation at the Bright Moon Company was not optimistic; he had to take action to resolve the problems quickly.

At the same time, he had to deal with the trouble caused by elders like Yao Shufen.

That evening, Chen Yuan arrived as planned at the office of the attending physician, Ma Baojun. Ma Baojun was a middle-aged man of about fifty, his face etched with the slick, worldly-wise look of someone who had navigated the professional world for years.

When he saw Chen Yuan enter, he immediately stood up to greet him, a broad smile on his face as he came forward.

”Mr. Chen, you’re here! Please, have a seat,” Ma Baojun said enthusiastically.

Chen Yuan smiled slightly, pulled a check for fifty thousand US Dollars from his pocket, and placed it on Ma Baojun’s desk.

Ma Baojun’s eyes lit up the moment he saw the number on the check.

”Mr. Chen, what’s the meaning of this?” Ma Baojun asked, a little curious.

”This is for Ms. Yao Shufen’s treatment,” Chen Yuan explained with a smile. ”I don’t have much time to manage her myself anymore, but I hope you understand what’s expected of you. Let’s not make things awkward for anyone.”

”Of course, of course. Rest assured, I will handle everything perfectly,” Ma Baojun immediately promised, nodding and bowing.

”If fifty thousand US Dollars isn’t enough, I’ll add more. But you should know what’s what. After seeing this money, I’m sure you’ll handle everything perfectly,” Chen Yuan continued.

”Absolutely, absolutely. You can rest assured,” Ma Baojun promised, nodding repeatedly.

He knew in his heart that this was not a man he could afford to offend. Besides, he didn’t seem like the type to waste time on others.

’Since he put it that way,’ he thought, ’as long as I do my job well, there naturally won’t be any problems.’

The two chatted for a little longer before Chen Yuan left Ma Baojun’s office.

Ma Baojun stared at the check on his desk, silently congratulating himself for not having offended the man. He knew full well that this man had powerful backing and was not someone he could afford to cross.

He also knew the man’s words weren’t just empty threats; as long as he handled things properly, there would be no trouble.

After returning home, Chen Yuan sat on the sofa and began to think, feeling a bit emotional.

He hadn’t wanted her to be embarrassed or hurt in front of him over such trivial matters. That was why he had sought out Ma Baojun, hoping the doctor could help him handle the situation.

Not long after, Ma Baojun called Chen Yuan to tell him everything was settled. Yao Shufen had been moved to a private VIP room, and her treatment costs were all covered.

Chen Yuan was somewhat relieved to hear this. He knew the matter had been resolved perfectly.

In the following days, Chen Yuan became busy. He started by calling a meeting with the company’s senior management to understand its current situation and problems. At the same time, he contacted Shen Mingyue herself through his lawyers and the investigation team.

Shen Mingyue expressed her trust and support for Chen Yuan, giving him her power of attorney. This brought Chen Yuan a sense of relief and reassurance.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Yao Shufen’s condition began to gradually improve. Although she still didn’t trust Chen Yuan, she also understood that she was now powerless to change the company’s situation.

The doctor also told her that her physical condition required quiet rest and recuperation, and that she couldn’t afford to get agitated and impulsive as before.

Returning to the Mingyue Group, Chen Yuan began handling daily affairs in the chairman’s office.
