Transmigrating Into a Book, the Villain Becomes the White Moonlight!

140: Chapter 14 I Don’t Need You to Marry MeTwo years had passed since he last saw Mu Xue’s body without any barriers. Seeing it again now, a surge of hot blood rushed straight to Su Bai’s head.

Compared to the slightly immature girl from two years ago, Mu Xue’s figure had undergone a dramatic transformation. Her curves were now alluring and well-defined, her skin glowing with an ivory-like luster under the dim light. The faint pink hue brought on by the drug’s effects added a breathtakingly seductive quality.

At this moment, in Su Bai’s eyes, she was like a succubus whose instincts had been completely unleashed, her charm dialed up to the maximum. Every inch of her skin, every unconscious movement, radiated a fatal attraction.

The air was thick with her unique, light fragrance mixed with that abnormal heat, creating a dizzyingly ambiguous atmosphere.

Su Bai’s throat went dry, and his body inevitably produced the most primal reaction.

He didn’t consider himself a saint, especially when facing a woman with whom he’d once been intimate, now presented before him in such an impactful state.

He... really couldn’t hold on much longer.

The string of his reason groaned under the strain, scorched by desire and assaulted by the vivid, alluring scene before him.

Gritting his teeth, his gaze struggled on the edge of confusion.

Looking into Mu Xue’s eyes, filled with pain and desperate longing, feeling the astonishing heat radiating from her skin, pushing her away seemed cruel... Moreover.

Common sense dictated that this kind of lowly, potent aphrodisiac was bound to harm both the body and mind, potentially leaving lasting side effects.

The most standard plot development would be for the Protagonist, Brother Bufan, to appear at the critical moment and help Mu Xue dispel the drug’s effects. Of course, the method naturally wouldn’t involve an antidote.

These clichéd thoughts flashed through Su Bai’s mind rapidly, but reality was—

His phone screen lit up. Butler Fu’s reply was concise and disheartening: [Conducted a rapid sweep of the villa perimeter and adjacent areas. No target matching Brother Bufan’s description found. No other suspicious persons approaching at this time.]

Brother Bufan wasn’t nearby?

Then who was the witness arranged by the Nangong Family?

Or perhaps, they never intended to arrange a scene of being caught in the act, but planned to expose it afterwards using other methods?

No time to ponder further. Su Bai’s fingers flew across the screen, sending a new order to Butler Fu: [Enter the house now! Just ask where I am, show appropriate concern. Whatever excuse the Nangong head gives, find a way to stall him. Pin him down in the living room. Don’t let him have a chance to go upstairs or contact others.]

The message had just been sent when a burning, urgent hand suddenly slapped the phone away. It traced an arc through the air and landed with a soft ’thud’ on the thick carpet, screen down.

”Su Bai... help me...” Mu Xue’s voice now carried a sob and a hoarseness bordering on collapse. Her eyes had completely lost focus, leaving only a primal, animalistic mix of desire and pain.

The drug’s power had clearly reached its most ferocious, most irresistible peak. Her reason was utterly incinerated. Driven by instinct, her body desperately sought relief and solace. Her hands clutched Su Bai’s lapels tightly, her scalding-hot body pressing against him, leaving not a sliver of space.

It’s not like it hasn’t happened before... It’s just picking up where we left off...

This thought, carrying a demonic allure, flashed through Su Bai’s mind, already in disarray from the drug and the scene before him.

His body’s reaction was honest and intense, the impulse clamoring for him to give up resistance.

But following it was a deeper sense of vexation: once this happened, the already complex and ineffable relationship between him and Mu Xue would completely slide into another, even more passive, dimension.

The Nangong Family’s goal was likely precisely this: to bind him to their chariot using this most direct and despicable method.

”Damn it...” Su Bai cursed under his breath, unsure if he was cursing the Nangong Family’s shamelessness or his own wavering resolve at this moment.

He knew he was also somewhat affected by the drug in the wine. Although the ’Immortal Kidney Body’ had resisted the knockout effect, some side effects that disturbed the mind and amplified the senses seemed to still be at work.

He shook his head vigorously, trying to dispel the heat and dizziness.

Seeing Mu Xue’s state becoming increasingly out of control—her breathing so rapid she seemed about to suffocate, her skin frighteningly hot—delaying any further might cause her real harm.

Su Bai steeled his heart. Using both hands, he firmly pressed Mu Xue’s smooth, trembling shoulders, pushing her slightly away from him. Staring into her dazed, unfocused eyes, he spoke through gritted teeth: ”Mu Xue! Listen to me! This is you... Forget it. When you wake up, don’t regret this, and don’t blame me!”

His words were a bit chaotic, more like finding an excuse for himself or a feeble preemptive declaration.

The sunlight outside the window was fierce, piercing through the gaps in the heavy curtains to cast several bright beams of light. They fell precisely on the disheveled carpet and the entangled figures, creating an absurd and tension-filled tableau.

It was high noon.

Downstairs in the living room, the atmosphere appeared calm on the surface, but undercurrents were swirling.

Butler Fu did not force his way in. Instead, with impeccable etiquette, he was ushered into the living room by a servant.

His face wore its usual, pleasantly warm smile. Bowing slightly to Mr. Nangong, who sat in the host’s seat seemingly leisurely sipping tea, he asked with concern, ”Mr. Nangong, pardon the intrusion. I wonder where my young master is at the moment?”

Mr. Nangong set down his teacup, a paternal, amiable smile spreading across his face as he gestured upstairs. ”Ah, Butler Fu, no need to worry. Young Su had a few extra cups of my treasured vintage wine earlier, said he was feeling a bit lightheaded and wanted to find a quiet room to rest. Young people, a nap will fix him right up. He’s probably sleeping soundly right now.”

As he spoke, he pointed with great seriousness at the empty wine bottles on the tea table, as if to prove the ”excessive drinking” claim.

Butler Fu’s gaze swept over the bottles. His smile remained unchanged, but his eyes deepened slightly. He nodded, compliantly saying:

”I see. The young master indeed has a low tolerance for alcohol. We must have embarrassed ourselves in front of you, Mr. Nangong. In that case, this old servant will wait here for the young master to wake up, so I can attend to him if needed. Recently, the master has been paying extra attention to the young master’s whereabouts and ordered me to follow him closely. I truly dare not neglect my duty.”

His words were humble, yet carried an unyielding insistence, backed by a perfectly reasonable excuse—following the orders of Su Bai’s father.

A shadow, almost imperceptible, flashed in Mr. Nangong’s eyes, but the warm smile stayed on his face. ”Understood, understood! Elder Brother Su is strict in teaching his son, all for Young Su’s own good. Butler Fu, make yourself at home. Consider this your own home! Here, bring tea for Butler Fu, use my finest leaves!”

He called out loudly, appearing generous and hospitable, attempting to use propriety to block any further requests from Butler Fu and hoping to anchor him in the living room with the tea.

A servant soon brought over steaming, fragrant tea.

Butler Fu thanked him and settled calmly into a guest seat. He truly assumed the posture of someone patiently waiting, occasionally engaging Mr. Nangong in trivial conversation about the weather or health preservation. His demeanor was relaxed, as if he were merely waiting for his young master to sober up.

Downstairs in the living room, time crawled by in seemingly peaceful yet tense conversation.

Whenever Mr. Nangong seemed restless, wanting to get up under the pretext of using the restroom or instructing a servant, attempting to leave the living room area, Butler Fu would always Just right ”remember” a topic for ”consultation”—be it about overseas asset restructuring, investment risks in some emerging market, or even the vintage identification of a certain red wine. His tone was sincere, his attitude humble, making it difficult to refuse.

Mr. Nangong had no choice but to sit back down, patiently dealing with these sudden ”business discussions” or ”refined small talk.” The smile on his face gradually became harder to maintain, yet he couldn’t lose his temper.

However, interestingly, while flashes of anxiety occasionally crossed Mr. Nangong’s brow, overall, he didn’t seem genuinely frantic.

Butler Fu’s mind was as clear as a mirror. Though he didn’t know the specifics of what was happening upstairs, since the young master had confidently ordered him to stall and no emergency signal had come yet, it meant the situation was still under control.

His duty was to execute the order perfectly, like the most reliable nail, firmly pinning Mr. Nangong to that chair in the living room.

This wait lasted for several long hours.

The sunlight outside the window shifted imperceptibly, moving from the fierce vertical rays of noon, gradually slanting westward, lengthening, finally tinged with the warm gold of dusk, sliding toward the horizon.

The light in the living room dimmed accordingly. A servant silently turned on the crystal chandelier.

Inside the bedroom, the light had long since changed from the sharp white rays piercing the curtain gaps to the current lazy, dusky afterglow.

Leaning against the headboard, his chest rising and falling slightly, Su Bai let out a long sigh. He raised a hand to wipe non-existent cold sweat from his forehead and couldn’t help shaking his head.

Thankfully, the ’Immortal Kidney Body’ from the Novice Gift Pack was domineering enough. Otherwise, he’d have been finished today.

He glanced sideways at Mu Xue, who lay beside him as if all her bones had been removed, softly collapsed amidst the disheveled bedding. He thought to himself: *This version of Mu Xue is really a first.*

Gone was that aloof, distant demeanor, or the young lady’s occasional airs. She was more like... like an insatiable money-devouring beast, impossible to satisfy.

When the drug’s effects were at their peak, she was wild and uncontrolled. But later... Su Bai’s gaze fell on Mu Xue’s now-quiet profile, her eyelashes casting faint shadows on her cheeks. He had realized it long ago.

”Hey.” Su Bai reached out a finger and poked Mu Xue’s bare arm, not too lightly, not too heavily.

Mu Xue’s body trembled slightly, but she maintained her posture, face buried deep in his chest, motionless. She even deliberately made her breathing light, slow, and long, as if still asleep.

”Stop pretending,” Su Bai’s voice, carrying a post-coital laziness and a trace of knowing amusement, was especially clear in the quiet room. ”What kind of potent aphrodisiac has such lingering effects, keeping you unconscious this long? You woke up a while ago.”

He had felt every moment of this entire day’s... ’ordeal’ clearly.

At the peak of the drug’s power, Mu Xue had been completely driven by instinct, her movements wild and chaotic, like a lost little beast.

But later, around some point in the afternoon, that forceful intensity had gradually mixed with a hint of hesitation, some clumsy exploration, and even occasional brief pauses and more meticulous touches... Those were definitely not reactions one should have under the drug’s influence.

Su Bai had known then. But as things were heating up, he hadn’t exposed her. Instead, he wanted to see how far Mu Xue planned to take this act, and to what extent.

Hearing his words, Mu Xue’s body stiffened noticeably for an instant.

A moment later, she slowly shifted, but didn’t raise her head. Instead, she buried her burning face even deeper into the crook of Su Bai’s neck and against his chest. Muffled, with a barely perceptible tremor and hoarseness, she whispered, ”I... I thought it was a dream.”

”Oh?” Su Bai raised an eyebrow, a low chuckle escaping his throat. His fingers played with a strand of her sweat-dampened hair. ”A dream? Calling me ’husband,’ ’brother’ so many times in this dream... wasn’t your dream a bit too... immersive? Too realistic?”

He deliberately mimicked some of her fragmented syllables from when she was in the throes of passion, the teasing in his tone thick and unmistakable.

”Don’t say it! You... you’re not allowed to say anymore!”

Mu Xue reacted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, the tips of her ears instantly turning crimson. As if in mortified anger, she raised a hand to cover his mouth, but it fell weakly halfway. In the end, she just pressed her whole body even tighter against him, as if trying to block out those words that made her face hot and heart flutter.

Her voice was pressed extremely low, almost a mumble, carrying a fragility akin to having survived a disaster and a belated sense of shame. ”I... I was afraid that if I opened my eyes, I’d find you really weren’t there... just like two years ago...”

Those last words were as light as a sigh, yet they let a complex strand of melancholy and uncertainty from the past seep quietly into the Ambiguous atmosphere flowing in the room.

Su Bai’s fingers, playing with her hair, paused slightly. The teasing on his face faded a bit, a hint of indescribable complexity flashing deep in his eyes.

He didn’t reply immediately, just let her lean against him. For a moment, the room held only the sound of their gradually calming breaths and the distant, faint sounds of dusk of the city outside the window.

The last remnants of the sunset’s afterglow were finally completely swallowed by the horizon. The bedroom sank into a warm dimness.

Some things, it seemed, had changed quietly along with this light, blurring boundaries, difficult to easily define.

Was it an accident within a scheme? A downfall spurred by the drug? Or were certain deliberately suppressed things finally finding an absurd yet reasonable outlet?

Su Bai couldn’t be bothered to ponder it deeply. At least for now, he chose silence, and this peculiar moment of quiet, carrying the lingering warmth of what had transpired.

”And now?” Su Bai’s voice sounded in the dim room, carrying a post-coital laziness and a trace of imperceptible inquiry. ”What am I to you now?”

”A stranger.” Mu Xue’s reply was almost blurted out, her voice muffled, wrapped in obvious petulance, even carrying a sharp, self-abandoning edge. ”Don’t you have Lin Wan, the fiancée arranged by your family? Young Master Su, why bother touching someone like me?”

She tried to draw a clear line with her words, but the slightly trembling tail end of her sentence and the way she clung tightly to his chest betrayed the fragility behind her insincerity.

”Hey, that’s an ungrateful thing to say,” Su Bai, far from being annoyed, gave a roguish smile instead. His arm tightened, holding her more securely in his embrace. His tone carried a shameless, self-righteous air. ”That’s not what a certain someone was saying earlier. You were the one begging for it, crying and pleading. I have a soft heart, couldn’t help it.”

”You... you’re shameless!” Mu Xue, embarrassed by his words, her ears burning red, softly spat the words. Yet her body, honest, made no move to pull away.
