Chapter 391: Chapter 7: Is It Really Human?

With a thud, the forearm hit the ground. Lust was stunned, raising her half-severed arm; half of her hand had been cut off.

”Wire?”

Lust focused her gaze, vaguely seeing a thin metal wire glinting in the air.

The fallen forearm quickly disintegrated, turning to ashes that scattered in the air.

Red lightning flickered at the stump of Lust’s severed arm, and within two seconds, a new arm had regenerated.

The regenerative ability of homunculi is incredibly strong. As long as the Philosopher’s Stone’s energy inside them isn’t depleted, they can continuously recover.

There are two ways to kill a homunculus: one is to destroy the Philosopher’s Stone inside them, which is difficult. Although the Philosopher’s Stone may seem easily breakable, its hardness surpasses that of diamond.

The other method is to critically wound the homunculus and exhaust the energy of the Philosopher’s Stone inside them.

Destroying the Philosopher’s Stone quickly is faster. Su Xiao decided to give it a try.

Pushing off the ground with a stomp, the stone floor of the church cracked like a spider web.

Dragon Slash sliced through the air with a terrifying wailing sound.

A flash of blade light appeared in Lust’s eyes, and she only felt a numbness at her neck, and her vision began to spin.

With a single slash, Lust’s head was cleaved off. Su Xiao stepped forward, thrusting his left hand, wrapped in the red protective arm, into her chest with his palm like a knife.

Lust’s physical strength wasn’t high, only slightly better than ordinary humans, but her tenacious recovery ability was annoying.

The hand encased in metal pierced into Lust’s chest, and her head had already regenerated.

”Ah~!”

A scream echoed, indicating that homunculi could feel pain, which made things much easier.

”You bastard.”

A fierce light appeared in Lust’s beautiful eyes; all her fingers transformed into sharp blades, slightly curved and extremely sharp at the tips.

This was Lust’s ability—the Spear of the Strongest, capable of piercing through most substances.

With a swish, the sharp blades on Lust’s hands extended, and in just an instant, her finger-blades stretched to three meters long.

Su Xiao tilted his head just enough to dodge, a cut appearing on his cheek as blood gradually seeped out.

Among the seven homunculi, if considering attack power alone, Lust was definitely the strongest.

He couldn’t afford to be pierced through the torso; just a graze from before had caused Su Xiao to be subjected to an instant death judgment, and Reincarnation Paradise’s notification left him shaken.

[You have been attacked by the ’Spear of the Strongest,’ judgment in progress.]

[The attacked part was skin, instant death judgment failed.]

These two notifications indicated that the strength of the homunculi was greater than in the original work.

The hand that had pierced into Lust’s chest tightened, and Su Xiao withdrew it forcefully.

”You...!”

Lust’s body gradually turned to ash, and a Philosopher’s Stone appeared in Su Xiao’s hand.

The Philosopher’s Stone’s surface grew a large amount of muscle, which encased Su Xiao’s hand, causing Lust’s body to reappear.

”Is suddenly sticking your hand into a lady’s chest gentlemanly behavior?”

Lust looked at Su Xiao with a flirtatious smile, the strongest spear formed by her fingers darting towards him.

With a powerful leap backwards, Su Xiao skidded to a stop after sliding for some distance upon landing.

ZZ~.

The sound of metal wire tightening could be heard as Lust uncontrollably staggered forward a few steps.

”The Philosopher’s Stone is entangled.”

The Boundary Line had penetrated Lust’s chest and was already wrapped around the Philosopher’s Stone.

Su Xiao tightened the Boundary Line, causing Lust to stumble.

Rushing forward, Su Xiao sliced off Lust’s arm with one swift motion, his actions incessant. Just as Lust was about to counterattack, he reversed his grip and hacked off her other arm.

Plop.

A head flew into the air; not only that, Su Xiao also severed both of Lust’s legs.

The more body tissue there was to heal, the faster the Philosopher’s Stone inside Lust was depleted.

Blue Steel Shadow was fully activated; Su Xiao’s mana value had recovered to 750 points, consuming 30 points per minute, granting him a total of twenty-five minutes to maintain Blue Steel Shadow.

Each cleave consumed 50 mana points, inflicting 50 true damage, accelerating Lust’s rate of death.

Lust’s body gradually regenerated, with Su Xiao standing nearby. As her body healed, he immediately stepped forward to deliver another strike.

This was his first battle against an enemy of this type, so he remained constantly vigilant.

Lust’s arm gradually regenerated, only to be severed again by the flash of a blade as soon as it was reborn.

Lust’s recovery ceased, not because the Philosopher’s Stone ran out of energy, but because she realized she would die if this continued.

The masked man standing before her reminded her of someone—Wrath.

Lust ceased her recovery, seemingly preparing for something.

Su Xiao stood motionless in place; he would not recklessly approach if the enemy did not move. He dared not draw near amidst Lust’s recovery.

Who knew which part of her body this woman would regenerate first? If an arm suddenly regrew and he happened to be in the path of its attack, that would be dangerous.

Lust’s body trembled. Su Xiao instinctively wanted to retreat, but it was already too late.

Lust suddenly regenerated at an ultra-high speed, and in less than a second, her severed head and limbs were fully restored.

”Spears Piercing Heart.”

Lust extended her arms forward, the spears formed by her fingers thrusting rapidly.

The stabbing speed of the ’Spear of the Strongest’ was incredibly fast, almost instantaneous. Su Xiao sensed danger, but his body was too slow to dodge.

As he watched the sharp blade extend towards his forehead, Su Xiao desperately tilted his head, but it was already too late.

A layer of transparent shield formed around Su Xiao, the strongest spear striking it. The shield shattered upon impact, but even in the mere fraction of a second, it gave Su Xiao enough time to react.

Thud.

Blood gushed forth as a deep, bone-revealing wound appeared on Su Xiao’s temple.

Blood flowed down his cheek, but Su Xiao’s eyes never wavered.

What he activated just now was the shield attached to [Mikasa’s Mind]. After strengthening Mikasa’s Mind to +5, the shield had become even stronger. Su Xiao usually wouldn’t rely on the shield, only using it in dire situations.

Shelter (Active): Quickly generates an invisible shield to resist attacks. The shield’s durability is equal to 80% of the holder’s maximum life value, lasting for up to 30 seconds.

With 80% of the maximum Life Value, Su Xiao’s current physical attributes, bolstered by Spirit Shadow Physique, gave him a Life Value of 35 points + 274 points, making Shelter (Active) capable of withstanding considerable attack intensity.

Even so, when the strongest spear pierced the shield, it shattered immediately. If it had struck his head instead, Su Xiao would be dead for sure.

He absolutely could not let this woman strike his vital organs—no, even hitting important organs might trigger an instant death judgment.

Tightening the Boundary Line caused a chill to run through Lust’s heart; her core Philosopher’s Stone was ensnared, leaving her with no means of escape.

Lust’s fingers turned to blades, slashing at the Boundary Line.

Clang.

Sparks flew as the Boundary Line remained unscathed; instead, blood welled up from Lust’s chest.

Lust spat a mouthful of blood, her eyes glaring wide.

”I’ll die at this rate. Is this guy really human? I must escape immediately.”
