Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 558: Chapter 269: The Island Submerged in Dreams_2

The entire world had now completely transformed into something bizarre.

What was originally daylight in the sky had turned into twisted colors, as if various luminous paints and pigments were casually splattered across it. Within the distortion of light and shadow, one could see scenes resembling clouds, the sun, and the sky.

The ground beneath their feet also rippled and twisted like oil on water, shimmering with nauseating colors.

All around, flowers, grass, and trees—everything was changing.

A black Flying Bird made of light and shadow flew past him.

Looking at the bird flying by, Alka’s expression completely darkened.

”Isn’t this... isn’t this a shadowy Flying Bird?” Lucilia asked, surprised, as she watched the bird fly past them.

Chadite also felt the changes around them, the kind he had once experienced in the Dream Realm.

He turned to look at Alka.

”What’s going on here?”

At this moment, Alka’s face was grave, and he solemnly said, ”This is the reason for the Island’s strangeness.”

”Last night, after I fell into Deep Sleep, the reason I couldn’t inform them of the plan within the Dream Realm was not because I chose not to, but because I couldn’t even exit my own Dream Bubble. The Dream World in this area harbors a powerful entity, absorbing Energy from every Dream Bubble that appears in the region.”

”And the reason Julia finds the Island environment strange, and why I feel at ease here, is because the barrier between the Dream Realm and reality has long since been smoothed out.”

These were insights Alka had realized last night while injecting pink Energy into the Superimposed Space, but the sensation hadn’t been clear then. It wasn’t until Kriel shattered the space, releasing the Dream-Vision Mist trapped inside, that these changes became fully evident. That explained why Alka had later frantically spewed pink mist.

”The Island and its surrounding environment are rapidly being pulled into the Dream Realm. This bizarre transformation is the chaos produced by the fusion of reality and the Dream Realm.”

After speaking, Alka pointed in the direction they had been preparing to escape.

”Take a look, is our escape path correct?”

The two turned to look.

Behind them, a slight incline had formed, completely obscuring the sea from view, even though it had been there just a moment ago. Everywhere their gaze reached was the Island’s land. The twisted terrain and the surrounding changes made them dizzy, and they couldn’t help wanting to vomit.

”The direction in the Dream Realm is generally the opposite of reality. Now that they are mixed, the directions have already shifted and continue to change due to the chaos. Moreover, the Island’s area has also expanded.”

The Dream Realm is abstract and distorted.

Now, even the earth and tree stumps around them were becoming stable within the distortion, stabilizing in their twisted forms, no longer wobbling as they had before. The overly exaggerated colors also began to mute, and the nauseating distortion started to disappear.

The Elements of the Dream Realm stabilized.

”It’s stabilizing. This area is being dragged into the Dream Realm at a steady pace. We are now traveling in the rift between reality and the Dream Realm, rapidly sinking.”

As he spoke, a monster appeared nearby.

Its form consisted of three shadowy arms connected, looking unusually bizarre.

Alka looked at this shadowy creature.

A pink spear condensed in his hand, which he immediately hurled at it. With one strike, he pierced through an arm.

This time, there was no need for the pink spear to envelop the creature and claim it as loot; it shattered instantly.

A strange rhomboid metal fell to the ground, some Dream Energy dispersing from it.

The item landed next to Chadite, who bent down to pick it up.

”So what should we do now?” Chadite asked. We can’t just do nothing, especially with a powerful enemy still chasing them.

”Although I understand, I actually have never truly experienced such a situation,” Alka said somewhat helplessly. ”Because this isn’t a naturally occurring weak point in reality, but something deliberately induced.”

”Deliberately?” Lucilia asked in surprise from the side.

Alka nodded. ”Yes, because I was the one who intentionally released a large amount of Dream Realm Mist to provoke such a weak point into surfacing. But this place was already a tinderbox, long soaked in fuel.”

”And I was merely the spark. But in igniting it, I also realized this place had already become a weak point, one that someone had deliberately concealed.”

If he hadn’t intentionally provoked it, this weak point would have remained hidden until someone came to ignite it. Alka had simply acted first. It couldn’t be helped; the situation at the time hadn’t allowed Alka much time to think.

”But this dragging won’t be permanent. Once this Island is completely pulled into the Dream Realm, it will quickly return to reality.”

Alka had navigated the Dream World for so long, and combined with information from the Dream Catcher, he knew certain things. According to what he knew, the Dream World had never held items from reality. Most of the time, it was the Dream Realm that invaded reality. And anything from reality that fell into the Dream Realm would be repelled by it, let alone an island of this size. As for whether the creatures on the Island could survive? That was none of Meng Jing’s concern.
