Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

You’re here, aren’t you.

Hearing that familiar voice from behind, Fang Zheng speechlessly turned his head — then suddenly widened his eyes and froze.

”I... what?! Lady Goddess, your.....”

”Hmm? What?”

What stood before Fang Zheng was none other than the Goddess of Order, but at this moment, the Goddess had... only her head left!

That’s right, everything below the neck of the Goddess of Order had indescribably vanished!

What the heck is going on?

Fang Zheng was truly startled.

”Hmm? Why are you looking at me like that?”

The Goddess of Order seemed unconcerned. Fang Zheng even saw a teacup floating around her and then settling at her lips for a sip.

”No, I mean, where did your... body go?”

As he spoke, Fang Zheng pointed peculiarly at the Goddess of Order’s neck, and the Goddess froze for a moment before looking down and showing a suddenly enlightened expression.

”Oh, you’re talking about this... Hahaha, sorry, it’s been millions of years since I last used it. I completely forgot I had a body.”

”..........”

Alright, millions of years, fair enough.

But at this point, the Goddess of Order seemed to become interested.

”I didn’t expect you actually managed to find your way here... It’s not a time projection this time, huh? I never thought, after all these years, I’d still encounter a kinsman...”

”I’m not your kin; to be precise, I should be considered your victim.”

Fang Zheng indicated that he wanted no part of this family connection. He felt the Goddess had mental issues, and associating as family might skew him as well.

”Victim?”

”Precisely. Do you remember that... order activation device thing? Do you recall it?”

”Hmm... Ah, oh, I recall!”

Upon hearing this, the Goddess of Order pondered for a moment before displaying a suddenly enlightened expression.

”That thing actually works!?”

”..........”

Listen to your nonsense. If those cultists heard this, they’d cry to death on the spot! They treated it as a secret treasure, protecting it with their lives!

”Well, just consider it useful.”

Fang Zheng was too lazy to explain, and the Goddess seemed uninterested in listening anyway.

”That’s fine; it doesn’t matter now. Besides, at least you have the Order Seal now, which means you belong to our clan. Perhaps in this world, it’s just the two of us from the Order Clan left... Sigh.”

At this point, the Goddess of Order sighed, making Fang Zheng’s hair stand on end. If the Goddess were concernable below the neck, he might indeed worry she’d enlist him to recreate the Order Clan.

”You came here for the Chaos Wave, huh? Hahaha, I bet you’re quite surprised?”

When saying this, the Goddess of Order raised her eyebrows, giving an expression of ”praise me, praise me.”

Come to think of it, she looks exactly like Fina, but why does Fang Zheng feel an urge to slap her?

The unpleasant aura emanating from her... Is she truly the Goddess of Order?

Alright, she genuinely is the Goddess of Order.

After all, Fang Zheng can feel the dignified, non-biased divine power and the resonance with his Order Seal.

But this aura that makes one want to hit her... Ah, I’m losing control of my right hand!

”I am indeed surprised.”

Fang Zheng clenched his fist, then quietly relaxed it.

”I think you might have noticed, there was a Chaos Wave that hit here previously...”

”It was the three hundred fifteenth wave, you know.”

The Goddess of Order yawned, with a look of complete boredom.

”By the way, this galaxy has developed five civilizations, all of which were wiped out by the Chaos Wave one after another. The previous ones that sealed those Chaos Demons belonged to the Third Century civilization; now it’s the Fifth Century...

”You’re not going to do anything?”

”How am I supposed to manage like this? Wave around a dead head?”

”..........”

Seeing how the Goddess of Order made so much sense, Fang Zheng was momentarily at a loss for how to refute her.

”Besides, look, isn’t this Milky Way still perfectly fine? This shows my experiment was a complete success!”

At this point, the Goddess of Order proudly lifted her head — if it weren’t for her indescribable state below the neck, Fang Zheng could even picture her with hands on her hips.

I’m too pleased with myself!

”Indeed, I’ve felt the transformation of Chaotic Power into Primordial Force... how did you do it?”

This was also something Fang Zheng was curious about; generally speaking, where the Chaos Waves pass, order breaks down and everything goes awry. Yet in this Milky Way, despite the Chaos Waves’ explosion, according to the Goddess of Order, having destroyed four centuries of civilization, it somehow managed to nurture a civilization in the Fifth Century?

What’s going on here?

”Primordial Force... ah, that’s what they call it outside. I prefer to call it the Power of Life.”

Well, that’s not much better-sounding.

So tacky.

”This is the core of my plan!”

The Goddess of Order seemed to have been holding back, and seeing Fang Zheng again, she eagerly circled around him and started to talk.

”Do you remember I once told you that everything in this world, including us, could likely have been created by a higher existence?”

”Mm, you did say so...”

”Then, I’ve always been pondering a question. You see, the current Chaos Waves are caused by our Order Clan, but in fact, chaos has always existed in this world. Through it all, I’ve been wondering, if our world really was created by a higher existence, why would they leave chaos behind? Clearly, order is so perfect, yet they left chaos to fill the gaps? Then I thought, and thought, and suddenly I had an idea!”

”What idea?”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng’s curiosity was piqued, and he quickly asked.

”I suddenly realized that in this world, there exists something that simultaneously possesses traits of both order and chaos, yet is indispensable! And that is—life!”

”...Life?”

”Exactly.”

At this point, the Goddess of Order shook her head with pleasure.

”Look, isn’t it amazing? When a life has the concept of ’living,’ then the opposing concept ’death’ immediately appears, inherently solidifying order. However, life itself is diverse and colorful, each unique. They evolve into different forms, possess different traits, forming different clans, and creating different civilizations. Yet all of this is elusive! They might encounter various problems and instinctively opt for various paths of evolution, which cannot be defined or confined— isn’t this a characteristic of chaos?”

”Now that you mention it... it does seem reasonable.”

Fang Zheng had to admit, the Goddess of Order seemed to have quite a point.

”So, I’ve been thinking, perhaps there’s a commonality between the power of chaos and life, maybe they can transform into each other? Therefore, I created a brand-new galaxy and here I started the experiment... Ah, of course, at first, my power alone wasn’t strong enough. But life is amazing, you see? The Power of Life started as ordinary power, but as centuries developed, various different civilizations were born and died within this galaxy. Yet their souls would all be absorbed into the Power of Life, increasingly more, increasingly stronger...”

”I think I roughly understand what you’re saying.”

Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng nodded; he had grasped the core of the Goddess of Order’s theory. To put it bluntly, the Goddess of Order believes there’s a commonality between chaotic power and the Power of Life, hypothesizing they can transform into each other, and once chaotic power transforms into the Power of Life, it immediately becomes part of order. This accumulates over time, strengthening the Power of Life to better resist the invasion of Chaos Waves.

However......

”How exactly did you do it?”

Yes, that’s Fang Zheng’s central question, understanding the theory is one thing, but how did the Goddess of Order accomplish it? Anyone can understand the theory of nuclear fusion by flipping through a book, but where do you find the equipment needed for controlled nuclear fusion?

It couldn’t have just appeared out of thin air.

”Hehehe, right, you hit the key point, I spent quite a long time before finally getting it done!”

At this point, the Goddess of Order revealed a smug smile, as if showing off her new toy to her friend.

”Next, let me show you my epoch-making creation!!”

As the Goddess of Order finished speaking, the surroundings suddenly plunged into darkness, then, a beam of light suddenly appeared, shining on the ground not far from Fang Zheng. When Fang Zheng focused on the beam’s location, he was instantly astonished!

In the beam of light, a headless corpse stood there — not only standing there, but posing in a particularly provocative and punchable manner!

Bending over, creating a tender orchid gesture, standing on one leg?

What the heck are you doing?!

Fang Zheng looked at the Goddess of Order with slight fear.

Is this the reason for your indescribable state below the neck?!

”After research, I discovered that only our Order Clan’s bodies are the best containers for absorbing and transforming chaotic power, so I chopped off my body to become the core of this galaxy, absorbing and transforming chaotic power. Wahaha, bet you didn’t think of that, I’m truly a genius!!!”

At this point, the Goddess of Order raised her head and laughed heartily.

And Fang Zheng was dumbfounded.

Is this even a valid approach?!
