Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

”You are Janelle, my most beloved girl.” Trevor crouched in front of her, tightly holding her slightly cool fingers, and looked up at her, his deep eyes filled with seriousness.

The girl took a deep breath, suppressing her heartache, and softly asked, ”Did Dad tell you anything?” She wanted to know.

Trevor shook his head, ”No.”

The two looked at each other. A gentle breeze blew by, and a long silence lingered between them.

Janelle Mills felt like her heart was being pierced with needles, aching intensely.

”Old Mills and Sister Sterling love you very much, Janelle, that’s the truth.”

Trevor’s deep eyes flickered slightly, ”You love them very much too, right? So many years have passed. If you keep digging into who your biological parents are, and why you got separated, actually... I think it’s meaningless.”

Trevor knew these words were harsh, but he had to persuade her, encourage her to accept this fact, since her current life wasn’t too bad.

But what if she had been abandoned?

If she knew the truth, then a seed of hatred would be planted in her heart, and she wouldn’t be happy in the days to come.

She would constantly deny herself.

”I don’t want to find my biological parents, I just...” Janelle, being kind-hearted, cried as she said, ”I just can’t accept it for now. How can I not be their biological child? Even when they divorced, they fought over me. They both love me so much...”

”I love you too; some love doesn’t need a blood relation.”

The man extended his hand to brush away her long hair that the wind had blown onto her face, then hugged her shoulders, looking at her dotingly, ”Janelle, you are a lucky girl to have met such wonderful parents. This is also a gift from heaven to you.”

Janelle gently pulled him up to sit next to her, and he put his arm around her shoulders, pulling her gently into his embrace.

”Janelle, I can understand your shock and feelings, but think about it calmly. If you ask them and they tell you about your background, what will you do then?”

”...” She didn’t know, she really didn’t know.

Trevor asked softly again, ”Do you want to recognize your original parents? Besides the blood relation, they have been absent for so many years. How are they any different from strangers?”

”I don’t want to, I don’t want to recognize them.” Janelle Mills shook her head, tearfully yet firmly saying, ”I don’t want to acknowledge my original parents at all, I don’t want to know about my background. I love Old Mills and Sister Sterling, I only love them.”

She loved her mom and dad deeply, even more than she loved herself, so she earnestly hoped they would remarry, and she had made lots of efforts for that.

Now that it was finally looking like they would remarry, she really didn’t want to ruin this happiness, especially since Sister Sterling was still in the emergency room...

Therefore, the kind-hearted Janelle Mills decided, ”I’ll just pretend I don’t know anything. Don’t tell them anything either.”

Trevor nodded, ”Alright, then shall we... go upstairs?”

”Is there a place to buy something around here?” She thought for a while, ”I want to pack some food for Old Mills, he must be hungry.”

”Shall we go take a look together?”

”Okay.”

Then, Trevor led Janelle to get up, and they headed to the hospital’s cafeteria. Actually, it was lunchtime now.

On the 11th floor, on the benches outside the emergency room, Nathan Mills was half worried about Carlotta, and half worried about Janelle; his heart felt cold.

This sudden change, he found it hard to cope with as well.

Janelle had learned about her background... he had a feeling that the entire situation would change in the future, and a lot of unexpected things would happen.

But at this moment, he was more concerned about Carlotta Sterling’s condition. How long would it take to sew the stitches?

Would there be any danger during the stitching process?

(Tomorrow, there will be an update. Something came up today and I apologize for the delay. Please don’t be mad at me, and try to be a gentle little fairy.)
