Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

She didn’t say what she was going to do downstairs, and turned to walk towards the elevator.

Trevor and Old Mills exchanged a glance, and Trevor followed her, entering the elevator together.

Nathan Mills watched the elevator doors slowly close with pained eyes.

He stood outside the emergency room for a long time, feeling a sense of foreboding. This feeling wasn’t due to his worry about Carlotta, but about Janelle’s parentage...

Does she already know that she’s not biologically hers?

After the blood transfusion, her overall state seemed very off.

At this moment, Old Mills’s mood was far from calm; he sat dejectedly on the bench, wondering if this was the proverbial roof leak during a night rainstorm?

Inside the elevator, as the perfect boyfriend, Trevor didn’t ask her what she was going to do downstairs; he too had a premonition that she must have found something out...

Trevor put himself in her shoes, finding it impossible to accept. This was bound to be a huge blow.

He chose to silently stay by her side.

Meanwhile, Janelle’s mind was filled with the doctor’s phrase—

”A mother with AB blood type can’t give birth to a child with type O blood.”

”A mother with AB blood type can’t give birth to a child with type O blood!”

”A mother with AB blood type can’t give birth to a child with type O blood!!”

There was no doubt her mother was AB blood type; it was something reaffirmed before every surgery.

But she herself was type O blood, which was indisputable—she’d even donated blood.

Ding, the elevator stopped.

As the elevator doors opened, Janelle quickened her pace, rushing towards the lobby, and Trevor snapped out of it, hurrying after her!

She was seen running towards the outside door! Tears welled up and couldn’t be held back any longer, streaming down her face as she ran, biting her lip tightly, feeling a heartache so intense she couldn’t breathe!

The air in the hospital made her feel suffocated!

Tears in her eyes, her whole heart trembled violently!

At the moment she burst out of the hospital lobby, Janelle felt as if she had regained oxygen, greedily taking a few breaths before quickly walking towards the back of the hospital.

She wanted to be alone for a moment, to give herself some time and courage to accept all of this.

Trevor still didn’t ask where she was going, just followed close behind her; whatever happened, he would stay by her side.

He had already determined that Janelle had found out she wasn’t biologically hers.

Behind the hospital was a large artificial lake, surrounded by greenery with several paths crisscrossing the lawn, and benches placed by the lake.

Few patients came to bask in the sun since it was just after the new year and the snow hadn’t completely melted. Though there was sunlight, the temperature was still very low.

Upon seeing the artificial lake, Janelle inevitably slowed her steps and walked sluggishly towards the lake’s bench.

Previously, she had seen this artificial lake from Ethan’s room window—it’s relatively peaceful here.

Facing the wind, her mind exploded with thousands of questions...

Trevor, who followed her, cautiously stopped his steps, watching from five meters away as she sat down on the bench.

That lonely back made one’s heart ache.

Janelle desperately wanted to restrain herself; she truly did, considering her mom was still in the emergency room... She shouldn’t act out or worry everyone.

However, an inexplicable emotion was slowly growing in her heart... tormenting her.

Trevor strode forward, deeply empathetic, gently placing his hand on her shoulder. She didn’t react much, only her tears fell more fiercely.

Trevor’s thin lips pressed tightly together, his chest ached with intense pain.

”Who am I?” After a long while, Janelle slowly turned her eyes, raising her gaze to him, asking bitterly, ”Who am I really?”

Trevor squatted beside her, reaching out to wipe away her tears, holding her hand tightly, searching for the right words.
