Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Outside the window, snowflakes started falling again. She snuggled into the blanket, staring at his moments on social media, lost in thought...

A simple eight-word message, truly full of security.

Nostalgia was growing in her heart, spreading within. Janelle felt increasingly that she missed him, indeed so excited she couldn’t fall asleep.

Reflecting on the events of tonight felt like a dream, a particularly beautiful dream.

She withdrew her thoughts, wondering, what is he doing right now?

Has he finished his shower?

Is he busy working in the study?

Or perhaps, has he already laid down to rest?

Is he thinking about her?

In fact, Janelle really wanted to call him, even if just to say goodnight.

But she was afraid of bothering him, worried she’d seem too clingy and suffocate him.

Janelle genuinely liked Trevor, liked him very, very much...

So this feeling was very important to her.

Hiding under the covers with her phone, looking through his moments, Janelle tossed and turned in bed but couldn’t fall asleep...

Just as she was entangled with indecision, ready to forgo the call yet wanting to send a WeChat message to say goodnight, Trevor’s call came in.

The phone vibrated and rang, his name appeared on the screen. Janelle was thrilled, she quickly answered, ”Hello.”

”Are you awake, Janelle?” Trevor’s warm voice came through, ”I hope I’m not disturbing you?”

”No, no, I’m not sleeping. You’re not bothering me.” Janelle lifted her head from under the blanket, feeling warm inside, softly asking, ”Hey, what are you up to?”

”I just lay down and wanted to call you, listen to your voice.”

Janelle smiled sweetly, ”Do you have an early meeting tomorrow?” She noticed it was nearly midnight. For winter, this time was relatively late.

If he had an early meeting, she wouldn’t keep him too long.

”No,” Trevor asked her, ”Is there any food you particularly dislike?”

”What’s up?” She asked curiously, ”Why suddenly ask about food?”

”From now on, as your boyfriend, I should try to understand you, right?”

She genuinely thought for a moment, ”I don’t seem to have any. I remember I’m not picky about food, just not too fond of sweets. It’s not that I don’t like them, just my liking might be different from others.”

”Do you like chocolate?”

”It’s alright.” Janelle asked him further, ”Can you tell me about your childhood? Like what you usually did during holidays?”

”Played and studied, but our way of playing you’d never imagine.”

Then Trevor started talking about his childhood. She listened attentively. When Trevor finished, she couldn’t help but share her own childhood days, mentioning her interactions with Sister Sterling...

Like this, time passed quickly, and unknowingly they’d been on the phone for nearly two hours.

”Oh no, my phone is almost out of battery,” Janelle received a notification and checked the time, ”It’s almost 2 am.”

Trevor still seemed a bit reluctant to end, ”My phone’s also running low, you should rest soon, we can chat again when we have time.”

”Goodnight.” Her heart felt even heavy with reluctance.

”Goodnight.”

After exchanging goodnights, it took Janelle a long time to reluctantly hang up.

Both were feeling increasingly more energized, still wide awake; this was likely what love felt like, the desire to be together every moment.
