Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 96: Chapter 96: Really Bad Timing

When Mia Lane came out of the bathroom, Justin Kingston withdrew his thoughts and his gaze inevitably fell on her.

Her long, wet hair, a face tinged with a rosy hue, she exuded the fragrance of a fresh bath.

”You should go take a bath.” Her voice was clear and pleasant.

Justin Kingston nodded and walked towards her.

As they brushed past each other, she felt her heart pounding.

Only when she heard the bathroom door close did Mia Lane breathe a sigh of relief, patting her chest. Why was she so nervous?

Was it because the room was too small? His presence too overwhelming?

During the day, Mia Lane felt their relationship was somewhat close.

Ever since they entered this guesthouse, she felt there was still a wall between them, as if he had closed himself off.

About the fire incident... it was still out of the question to ask.

The time wasn’t right yet.

When Justin Kingston emerged from the shower, Mia Lane’s reaction was noticeably slow, ”Why... aren’t you wearing clothes?”

He displayed his stunning physique, particularly his impressive abs, ”When have you ever seen me sleep with clothes on?”

”...”

Rendered speechless, she quickly averted her gaze.

Tired from the day’s events, Justin Kingston directly pulled back the blanket and lay down on the bed.

The bed was narrow, only one meter twenty wide.

When he got on, there wasn’t much space left for her.

”Come on up,” Justin Kingston looked at her.

Mia Lane felt a headache, not knowing what was going on tonight, constantly feeling out of breath, especially when he looked at her.

She tried hard to overcome the strange feeling in her heart and climbed onto the bed.

To prevent herself from falling off, she had no choice but to lean closer to him.

Justin Kingston leisurely lifted his hand, gently covering her shoulder with his palm.

She looked up, deeply gazing at him, ”...” His handsome eyebrows, deep eyes, high nose bridge—his features were remarkably defined.

Justin Kingston’s gaze lowered, meeting hers, ”Had enough of looking?”

”How do you keep your skin so well?” She couldn’t help but inquire about his skincare routine, ”I’ve never seen you use any products, and you’re already 38, yet there isn’t a wrinkle on your face.”

Justin Kingston’s lips curved slightly, just as she thought he would start listing tips, she heard four words: ”Naturally beautiful.”

”Pfft...!” She buried her head in the crook of his arm, quickly falling into a deep sleep.

Justin Kingston reached out with his other hand to turn off the light, then pulled the blanket up over her. Regardless of her intentions for bringing him out today, it resulted in an unprecedented tranquility and happiness for him.

Nighttime, Riventhal, Emerald Cove.

Car lights shone into the villa, where Gigi and Dolly, tossing pillows on the couch, turned to look out the floor-to-ceiling windows!

Butler Shelby hurried out to greet them.

”Didn’t they call to say they weren’t coming back?” Gigi wondered.

Dolly glanced at her brother, ”Maybe it’s not Daddy and Mommy.”

”Then who else would come this late? Not just anyone can get in here!”

In the rose-filled garden, the evening breeze blew gently.

As the person in the car got out, Butler Shelby greeted with a respectful bow, ”Good evening, ma’am.”

Mary assisted Kristina Kingston as they stepped towards the living room, with Butler Shelby quickly following.

As they entered the living room, they didn’t see any adults.

Instead, they immediately spotted two kids standing barefoot on the couch.

The siblings’ hair was messy, their shoes kicked one way or another, and several throw pillows had fallen.

The children looked at the newcomers at the door, exchanging glances.

How strange! Wearing a half mask! So wrapped up, with gloves on!

But the kids could also sense a peculiar chill in the air.

Butler Shelby hurried in, ”Master Gigi, Miss Dolly, this is Mr. Kingston’s mother, come and greet your grandma.”

The children paused for a second, exchanged a glance, then quickly put on their shoes and got off the couch.

”Hello, Grandma!”

The two little ones stood hand in hand by the coffee table, bowing deeply towards the door, their tender voices absolutely adorable!

Kristina Kingston’s icy gaze swept over the children, then she looked towards the staircase, displeased, ”Where are Justin and Mia Lane? Get them down here.”

Butler Shelby answered respectfully, ”Mr. Kingston took his wife out.”

”Not back yet at this late hour?”

This time, Gigi quickly interjected, ”They’re not coming back tonight! They went on a date!”

Kristina Kingston’s face beneath the mask suddenly turned sharp! Her gaze returned to Gigi, ”What did you say?” Then she took steps towards the two children.
