Stockpiling for an Exiled General Through My Store's Back Door

Chapter 134: Chapter 134: Another Direction

Hua Buwan recalled the days when she had received help from kind strangers. Back then, it truly felt as though a beam of light had pierced through the darkness of her life. With that thought, she generously allocated ten million to support the city’s children, covering their tuition, miscellaneous fees, and basic living expenses. She even established a scholarship to reward students who successfully gained admission to a university.

Teacher Lin was utterly stunned when she heard Hua Buwan offer ten million right off the bat. She stared blankly for a long moment before asking in disbelief, ”One thousand? Or ten million? Millions?”

Since joining the Education Bureau, Teacher Lin had never heard of anyone making a multimillion-level donation in a single go. People donated a few hundred or a thousand a month, sure. She found it hard to believe that the owner of a small supermarket could simply donate ten million without a second thought. This was no small supermarket—this was a feat only the CEO of a publicly listed company could achieve.

It wasn’t until Hua Buwan nodded in firm confirmation that reality set in.

”Yes, you heard me right. It is ten million.

”Teacher Lin, which bank will the donation be processed through? Also, you can provide me with an itemized list of how the funds are distributed later, right? I want to ensure this money is genuinely used for the children.”

Hua Buwan had naturally heard about the shady practices involving charities, and she refused to let her money end up anywhere other than in the hands of the children who needed it.

Teacher Lin scrutinized Hua Buwan’s expression and tone. Once she was certain the young woman wasn’t joking, she immediately braced herself, giving the matter her complete and undivided attention. This was a ten-million donation. If implemented, it could help countless impoverished children. This was their hope.

Teacher Lin grasped Hua Buwan’s hands in excitement, her palms sweating. ”Buwan, you can rest assured. I will personally oversee and track where the money goes. When the time comes, I’ll provide you with all the financial records, guaranteeing that every single cent is spent on the children.

”I want to thank you in advance on behalf of all those kids.”

Teacher Lin had visited the homes of these impoverished students before. Witnessing their struggles with both their education and their daily lives always moved her to tears. She genuinely wanted nothing but the best for them.

”I was helped by others in the past, and now it’s my turn to help someone else,” Hua Buwan said softly.

Teacher Lin looked deeply at her, tears welling in her eyes.

Over the next two hours, Teacher Lin guided Hua Buwan through the necessary procedures. During this time, they clearly defined the specific areas Hua Buwan wished to fund and established her oversight rights. The entire donation department sprang into action, expediting the relevant paperwork for her. Once the bureaucratic side was settled, bank staff personally assisted with the deposits and transfers. With such a massive sum of money involved, having the bank directly handle the transactions significantly sped up the process.

When Hua Buwan finally walked out of the Education Bureau, her bank account was ten million lighter, but she felt an unprecedented sense of joy and satisfaction. It felt as though her very soul had been elevated. Naturally, she planned to donate more in the future. This was only the beginning.

As she strolled down the street, Hua Buwan was suddenly struck by a strong desire to see Ling Qianjun.

After all, he was the reason she had so much money in the first place. She wondered if he would have any advice regarding her charitable endeavors. He had once been a man of authority, a General.

A sudden realization struck her. She thought of all the honorable and hardworking individuals dedicating their lives to the country. Her funds could actually be invested in national infrastructure and scientific research. These fields were absolute money pits, but they were also the foundation of the nation’s future. However, she wondered if throwing around this much cash would attract unwanted government scrutiny. A twinge of anxiety settled in her chest.

Just then, the system’s long-absent voice rang out in her mind.
