Stockpiling for an Exiled General Through My Store's Back Door

Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Trying to Pass Through the Any Door

Just then, Hua Buwan’s fingers twitched.

Even Ling Qianjun, a seasoned warrior who had survived the battlefield, was startled. Steadying his nerves, he tried to let go of her hands. However, Hua Buwan’s hands remained suspended in midair, their position entirely unchanged. And her fingers were still moving.

He couldn’t just sit idly by. Picturing the Any Door in his mind, it materialized before him. Gripping Hua Buwan’s hands, he stepped back through to the supermarket.

Back in the supermarket.

Hua Buwan felt someone grab her wrists and pull them forward. As she watched her vanished wrists slowly reappear, the force caused her to stumble backward.

First, she saw a pair of large, strong hands gripping her wrists. Then, the rest of the arms emerged, and finally, Ling Qianjun himself.

Her hands were back!

The feeling of regaining what she had lost thrilled Hua Buwan so much that tears sprang to her eyes. She had genuinely thought her hands were gone forever.

Ling Qianjun had witnessed the miraculous scene firsthand. Seeing Hua Buwan’s expression, he knew she had been terrified. He released her hands, and she immediately stared at them affectionately, looking as if she wanted to cover them in kisses.

”That must have been terrifying,” Ling Qianjun said soothingly. ”Fortunately, everything is intact.”

”Yes, yes! I almost thought I was going to lose my hands,” Hua Buwan agreed, nodding vigorously.

Once they calmed down, the two began to review what had happened, their faces grave and serious.

”My hands must have passed through the Any Door just now. It’s so strange. I tried before, but I couldn’t reach Dongxuan Country at all. Opening the door just led to my bathroom,” Hua Buwan said, rubbing her chin with one hand and staring fixedly at the Any Door.

”But this time, I fell and grabbed your hand, and then both my hands were pulled over to Dongxuan Country. Yet, my body still couldn’t go through, leaving my hands stuck at the Any Door.”

While she spoke, Hua Buwan tried opening the Any Door herself again. She repeated the action several times, but it opened to her bathroom every single time, without exception.

”I did indeed return to the woods in Dongxuan Country,” Ling Qianjun added. ”I saw your hands suspended in midair, and your fingers were still moving, but I couldn’t see the rest of you.”

A sudden flash of inspiration struck Hua Buwan, leading her to a bold guess. ”Were you holding my wrists when you crossed over to Dongxuan Country just now? Because only that part of me made it through.”

A sharp glint flashed in Ling Qianjun’s eyes. ”Are you saying that whatever part of you I bring along can cross over, but without me, you can’t? And even if I hold your hand, only your hand can cross over, while the rest of you cannot?”

”Mhm!” Hua Buwan nodded like a bobblehead. ”Right, that should be it. But let’s not jump to conclusions. We’ll know for sure if we test it.”

”Alright. Let’s test it.” Ling Qianjun was excited now too. If he could bring Hua Buwan over to Dongxuan Country... If...

Neither of them could wait to find out.

Hua Buwan stood before the door. Ling Qianjun murmured a polite, ”Forgive me,” before reaching out to grip her arm. Together, they walked forward.

Ling Qianjun opened the door first. At a glance, it wasn’t the bathroom that appeared, but a patch of thick fog.

Hua Buwan’s heart pounded wildly. ”It worked! The first step is for Ling Qianjun to open the door!”

”Wait, let me try putting my hand through first to see if it can cross,” Hua Buwan suggested.

Ling Qianjun nodded. He watched as Hua Buwan’s hand stopped right outside the threshold, as if blocked by an invisible barrier.

Hua Buwan shook her head. ”Even if you open the door, I still can’t cross over on my own.”
