Hijacking the Timeline

Star City, the city center.

Star City Academy.

After getting out of the car, Feng Qi dragged his luggage to the academy’s main gate.

His eyes were immediately drawn to a towering stone monument over twenty meters tall, its surface carved with the four majestic characters: ”Star City Academy.”

As he stepped toward the entrance, a guard blocked his path. Only after Feng Qi presented his visitor’s pass was he allowed to proceed.

Beyond the gate lay a marble path leading into the academy grounds, flanked by bronze statues on either side. These were alumni who had graduated from Star City Academy and made exceptional contributions to human progress. Inscriptions beneath each statue detailed their life achievements.

Further along the path lay a lotus pond. It was summer, the peak season for lotus growth, and the pond was densely covered with vibrant green leaves swaying gently in the breeze.

Continuing along the main road, it took Feng Qi an hour to reach the dormitory building.

After submitting his visitor’s pass at the dormitory manager’s office, he was quickly assigned his accommodation: Room 301 on the third floor.

The dormitories at Star City Academy were single-occupancy rooms, but larger than his previous school dorm. Fully equipped with amenities, the refrigerator was already stocked with various beverages and snacks. The dormitory building also featured a gym, a psychological counseling room, a computer lab, and other facilities.

The room was spotless, so there was no need for him to clean it again. After setting down his luggage and putting his clothes in the wardrobe, he opened the welcome letter and called the academy’s receptionist.

The phone rang twice before being answered. A middle-aged man’s voice came through the line:

”Who is it?”

”I’m Feng Qi, a student from Star City High School here for a study visit...”

After Feng Qi introduced himself, the man replied:

”Understood. You haven’t had systematic exposure to cultivation studies yet, so we’ll temporarily assign you to audit the Cultivation Exchange Class. It will be very helpful for you. Note down the classroom location...”

”Yes, sir. I understand.”

After hanging up, he jotted down the address of the Cultivation Exchange Class.

Checking the time, he saw it was nearly noon. He decided to have lunch at the academy’s cafeteria first, then check out the Cultivation Exchange Class.

Leaving his dormitory, he asked for directions and walked for over ten minutes before reaching the cafeteria.

The cafeteria operated on a buffet system, with all food provided free of charge. This didn’t surprise Feng Qi. After all, Star City Academy trained humanity’s future elites, and its graduates included many outstanding individuals who had made significant contributions to human development. The free meals were perfectly understandable.

After grabbing a pile of delicious food, Feng Qi, ravenously hungry, found an empty seat and began to devour his meal.

As he ate, his gaze was drawn to another student who was also eating.

She had long, jet-black hair, a petite frame, and delicate features. What surprised him was the mountain of food scraps piled up before her, and the ferocious, almost primal energy she exuded as she ate.

He also noticed a rune crystal embedded in her right arm, which flickered with a faint light as she ate.

Since his body had undergone its transformation, Feng Qi’s appetite had become astonishing. Yet he felt utterly outmatched by this petite senior.

How can such a small body consume food larger than herself? Doesn’t she get full?

Just then, the girl mid-bite suddenly turned her head and locked eyes with him.

A wave of savage, untamed energy washed over Feng Qi, giving him the unsettling impression that he wasn’t observing a human, but some primordial beast devouring its prey.

Realizing his staring was impolite, he quickly lowered his head.

The senior girl studied Feng Qi for a moment, a flicker of confusion in her eyes, before returning to her voracious meal.

By the time Feng Qi finished lunch, it was half past noon.

The Cultivation Study Class was about to begin. He left the dining hall and headed straight for the Cultivation Exchange Class.

The Cultivation Exchange Class was a half-hour walk from the cafeteria. By the time Feng Qi arrived, the room was already packed with students.

The moment he entered, the chatter among the students abruptly ceased, and all eyes turned to him in unison.

Feng Qi felt a pang of awkwardness. He had only come to observe the students’ discussions on cultivation studies, but now he was the center of attention, making him deeply uncomfortable.

He tried to find an empty seat, but as he approached one, a student beside it spoke up in confusion:

”Junior, aren’t you supposed to be giving a lecture? Why are you sitting down?”

”Me? Give a lecture?” Feng Qi asked, his face registering genuine surprise.

”If not you, then who?” The student’s expression mirrored his own astonishment.

Assuming this was the standard procedure for the Cultivation Exchange Class—where each newcomer had to share their understanding of cultivation—Feng Qi steeled himself and walked to the podium.

Facing the rows of senior students staring at him, he paused for a moment before speaking:

”My understanding of cultivation studies is quite superficial. Please forgive any shortcomings.”

There was no applause or welcome. The students’ expressions remained cold and indifferent.

What’s with this attitude? Is this the standard of students at Star City Academy? Who do they think they are? Feng Qi grumbled inwardly.

But since this was the established procedure for newcomers, he had no choice but to proceed. After a moment’s thought, he decided what he would talk about.

He recalled another cultivation technique he had learned in his dream, the Fierce Tiger Fist, and realized that apart from this, he seemed to have nothing else to talk about.

So he lifted his head, determined to put on a show:

”Next, I’ll share my understanding of body cultivation.”

”Body cultivation is a method of refining the physical body to enhance bloodline strength. As one’s cultivation realm advances, the body becomes impervious to water, fire, blades, and spears...”

As Feng Qi continued his lecture, the students’ expressions began to shift.

”Isn’t this just basic stuff? It’s hardly impressive.”

”Is this the exchange student from Winterfrost Academy? I heard he was already accepted into the Tiger Soul Research Institute. Is this all he’s got?”

”Just as I suspected—all hype. If this is enough to get into the Tiger Soul Research Institute, I could do that too!”

”What a disappointment! I thought Junior Brother Lin Ran, the legendary prodigy, would be much more impressive. Turns out this class is a complete waste of my time.”

Feng Qi’s lecture began with basic body cultivation principles from the Fierce Tiger Fist video tutorial, leaving the students deeply disappointed.

However, he quickly transitioned to the main topic.

”In the development of human martial arts, there was Xingyi Fist. I believe this same principle can be applied to body cultivation techniques. For example, by mimicking the form of a fierce tiger, we can divide the fist techniques into five styles: Chop, Drill, Collapse, Cannon, and Cross, each corresponding to the five elements—metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. Practicing these five styles nourishes the Five Organs—lungs, kidneys, liver, heart, and spleen—within the body. By aligning with the natural rhythms of human life, we can strengthen and guide the meridians and pathways connecting the Five Organs and viscera, particularly by opening the Ren and Du Meridians. This allows spiritual energy to circulate primarily through the Zhou Tian Circulation, further promoting vigorous and unobstructed flow throughout the entire body...”

As Feng Qi dissected the fundamental principles of the Fierce Tiger Fist, the students’ expressions gradually shifted.

They realized Feng Qi truly possessed profound knowledge.

Not only did he offer unique insights into body cultivation, but he also expanded upon the existing cultivation system with detailed explanations.

From that moment on, the students dared not underestimate Feng Qi. They eagerly opened their notebooks, taking notes with utmost concentration, nodding frequently in agreement with his points.

Outside the classroom, a young man of about 17 or 18 years old hurried toward the door from a distance.

He possessed striking features: ebony-black eyes, a high and noble nose, and a gentle, handsome face that radiated confidence.

As Lin Ran reached the classroom and prepared to push the door open, he heard someone inside lecturing, leaving him momentarily bewildered.

Did I come to the wrong class?

He glanced up at the class name: ”Combat Class One,” only to grow even more confused.

No, this is the right place!

Out of courtesy, Lin Ran decided to stand outside and listen to the lecture rather than interrupt.

As the ”teacher” inside shared insights on body cultivation, ripples formed in Lin Ran’s clear eyes, and he nodded occasionally in agreement.

No wonder this is Star City Academy—the teachers here are so professional!
