Apocalypse: My Tattoos are Ten Yama Kings

”Plop!”

”Plop! Plop!”

In the grand hall, aside from the sound of Xi Huang and Yang Jing placing their pieces, there was no other noise.

Gradually, Yang Jing’s speed of placing pieces became faster and faster.

Conversely, Xi Huang’s speed slowed down.

”Whoo!”

”Whoo! Whoo!”

Xi Huang gasped for breath, beads of sweat like beans appeared on his forehead.

As both sides’ strategies became clear, Xi Huang obviously fell into a disadvantage.

”Plop!”

As Yang Jing placed another piece, one of Xi Huang’s black pieces was surrounded.

Captured piece.

As a black piece was captured, a piece of flesh fell from Xi Huang’s face.

”Plop!”

”Plop! Plop!”

The battle on the chessboard was intense, Xi Huang continually retreated, and every time a piece was captured, a piece of flesh fell from his body, or he lost a finger.

About the time of a stick of incense, nearly half of Xi Huang’s flesh had fallen, his left arm disappeared, and his lower body was missing.

”Dao...” Xi Huang’s voice was bitter.

Before Xi Huang could finish speaking, Yang Jing corrected him: ”It’s Yang Jing.”

Xi Huang, resigned, had no choice but to change his address and ask: ”Dao friend Yang Jing, do you have to kill me to the end?”

Yang Jing slowly placed another piece, capturing more black pieces, and a large chunk of flesh fell from Xi Huang’s chest.

”It’s not about killing to the end, it’s about helping you with Soldier Resolution!” Yang Jing said with a smile.

If one wants to achieve Soldier Resolution and reincarnation, they must abandon everything of their primordial spirit.

Leaving only a primordial spirit, they could reincarnate as a human.

Back then, the Daoist Ancestor willingly resolved himself.

Now, Xi Huang clearly was unwilling to resolve himself, so Yang Jing naturally could only help him.

Playing chess was a form of civilized combat, and each captured piece resulted in Xi Huang losing a piece of flesh.

Until all the flesh had fallen, leaving only the primordial spirit, this would be considered a successful Soldier Resolution.

Of course, Xi Huang was not a complete primordial spirit, just a half.

His primordial spirit was insufficient, barely half.

However, this didn’t matter.

Yang Jing had already prepared, bringing the World Honored Dao Fruit to help Xi Huang, to supplement his primordial spirit, aiding in reincarnation.

Hearing Yang Jing still speak in a helping tone, Xi Huang was enraged!

Even a clay figure has three degrees of anger, let alone Xi Huang.

Helping others?

He should at least be willing to accept the help, right?

Xi Huang thought, do I need your help!

”Dao friend Yang Jing, even in helping someone with Soldier Resolution and reincarnation, one should consider the person’s willingness, right?”

”Isn’t it inappropriate to force it like this?” Xi Huang said with anger in his voice.

Yang Jing shook his head, saying: ”No, whether you are willing or not is not important, my willingness to help you is enough.”

At this moment, Yang Jing was impermeable, no matter what Xi Huang said, his goal was to help Xi Huang with Soldier Resolution and reincarnation.

Xi Huang finally panicked.

On the chessboard, the black pieces were in disarray, and if the game continued, in less than a tea’s time, he would be forced to resolve and reincarnate.

At this moment, Xi Huang regretted agreeing to settle the outcome by playing chess with Yang Jing.

Unfortunately, there might be a sale for every kind of medicine, but nowhere does one sell remorse pills.

In the beginning, if Xi Huang had fought directly, although he wasn’t a match for Yang Jing,

by relying on the Array within Wa Huang’s Palace and the disciples’ strength, they could have stalled Yang Jing for a time.

After all, Yang Jing was not yet at his peak Tier One strength like the Daoist Ancestor before him.

Even if he was stronger than Xi Huang, it was within limits.

However, due to Xi Huang’s fear of the former Daoist Ancestor, he agreed to a chess match with Yang Jing.

As a result, he was caught like a frog in lukewarm water, slowly worn down by Yang Jing.

Now, with much of his flesh already resolved, it was too late for Xi Huang to rebel.

Xi Huang knew he couldn’t continue the game!

He wanted to tell Wa Huang about what was happening here.

He wanted to flee!

”Bang!”

Xi Huang knocked over the chessboard and quickly turned to leave.

Seeing Xi Huang attempting to run, Yang Jing remained unflustered, slowly speaking: ”Until the game is finished, you cannot leave.”

As Yang Jing’s words landed, Xi Huang’s swiftly retreating figure was forced back to his seat.

Immediately, the overturned chessboard returned to its former state, the pieces reset to their original positions.

”When you wager, you must abide, no cheating!” Yang Jing looked at Xi Huang, his tone calm.

Controlled by Yang Jing, Xi Huang gritted his teeth, saying: ”I won’t play, I’m done playing!”

However, Xi Huang’s resistance was futile.

Within this game, there seemed to be a Power of Rules akin to the Array within the Returning Ruins Arena.

Since Xi Huang agreed to play with the Daoist Ancestor, he was trapped in this rule, unable to resist.

Xi Huang discovered he couldn’t control his body or his mind.

His consciousness was controlling the pieces, continuing the game.

”Plop.”

”Plop, plop.”

As each piece was placed, Xi Huang’s black pieces continued to be captured, and fewer black pieces remained on the board.

Meanwhile, Xi Huang’s flesh also lessened.

After a tea’s time, the Xi Huang sitting across from Yang Jing had turned into a skeleton.

”Plop.”

With Yang Jing placing the final piece, Xi Huang was completely defeated.

”Boom!”

The skeleton sitting across Yang Jing exploded, scattering into a flurry of bone dust.

Amidst the floating bone dust, a nearly illusory figure could be seen across from Yang Jing.

This figure was Xi Huang’s primordial spirit.

To be precise, it was half of Xi Huang’s primordial spirit.

This primordial spirit was similar to a soul, but different.

The structure of the primordial spirit is much simpler than that of a soul.

It lacked causality, lacked desires...

And coincidentally, the World Honored Dao Fruit could perfectly compensate for these.

”Dao friend, I’m helping you!”

”Perhaps you blame me now, but one day, you’ll understand my good intentions,” Yang Jing said, taking out the prepared World Honored Dao Fruit.

In Yang Jing’s view, among the void, only Xi Huang was worth helping and pulling up.

He had a thorough understanding of Wa Huang, the Demon Lord, the Buddha, and Xi Huang.

Xi Huang hadn’t reached a point beyond redemption.

If it were the Demon Lord, Yang Jing would use just three words.

That would be, ”Let it perish.”

Facing Yang Jing’s murmuring, the illusory figure sitting in front of him looked dazed.

This was because Xi Huang’s primordial spirit was half, and upon leaving the flesh, he entered a state of bewilderment.

At this moment, Xi Huang’s primordial spirit truly had no consciousness.

At this time, if Wa Huang returned, creating a new body for Xi Huang and placing his primordial spirit back, he could indeed awaken Xi Huang.

Unfortunately, Wa Huang fell for the trick of luring the tiger away from the mountain, distracted by the fake World Honored Dao Fruit towards the Buddha’s place. This fated that she wouldn’t be able to save Xi Huang in time.

Once Xi Huang was forced into Soldier Resolution, everything was set in stone.
