Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 150: Chapter 149: Strength Assessment

“Well, my guidance task ends here. If you need anything in the future, feel free to ask.”

In the task hall, Zhu Jun said to Lin You who was standing in front of him.

After the entire introduction just now, Zhu Jun had explained all the information he knew to Lin You, even revealing some secrets not found in manuals, worthy of Lin You’s Magic Energy.

“Are you returning to your territory?” Lin You asked casually.

“Yeah, I’ve earned quite a bit of Magic Energy, so it’s time to go back and recruit some new species,” Zhu Jun couldn’t wait, thinking of his territory all the time.

Though before leaving, he couldn’t help but say, “Thanks a lot for helping me out today, brother. Pei Yushan is known for being petty, and since you embarrassed him today, he might hold a grudge and try to trip you up, so you better be careful.”

In his view, Lin You was here for the first time today and clearly was a lord who had just descended for three months, his strength surely couldn’t be that strong.

At most, just twenty or thirty Tier Seven Species, still far behind the veteran lords.

Feeling guilty, he naturally couldn’t help but give more reminders.

“Don’t worry, I will,” Lin You didn’t take it to heart.

“That’s good,” Zhu Jun breathed a sigh of relief, “Since that’s the case, I’ll take my leave first. I’ve made quite a bit of Magic Energy today, it’s about time to return to the territory. Let’s meet again if there’s a chance.”

After saying this, he left directly and quickly disappeared outside the hall.

Lin You quickly arrived at the center of the hall and started checking the mission board.

Tasks on the mission board are varied, covering all sorts.

Such as errands, collecting materials, escorting, reconnaissance, sparring, etc.

They’re basically tasks posted by other lords or territorial citizens at the cost of Points, with rewards varying from high to low, some even offering up to tens of thousands exaggeratedly.

Though those tasks have strict requirements on strength, requiring Tier Eight or above lords to take them.

Helplessly, he continued browsing, searching for a suitable task.

“Look! A new task has come from the Empire!”

Suddenly, excited shouts from other lords could be heard nearby.

Lin You paused and lifted his head to look toward the light screen above the hall. A task marked with “Empire” gradually came into his view.

[Task: Source of Chaos]

[Requirements: Follow the Empire’s team to purge Tier Seven Chaos Demons disturbing the battlefront, and help to repel the Demon Leader, eligible for Tier Six and above.]

[Task Difficulty: Medium]

[Task Reward: 1000 Honor Points]

A whole thousand Points reward!

Besides, it just requires purging Tier Seven Demons.

Lin You wouldn’t let this pass; he quickly and deftly accepted this task.

[Task acceptance failed, please first proceed to the task hall for strength certification.]

What?

What’s going on?

You need to certify strength first to accept tasks?

Lin You was stunned, completely unprepared for this acceptance failure.

Zhu Jun probably forgot about this, didn’t mention it to him.

No choice, he had to drag over someone nearby and ask: “Brother, how do you do strength certification?”

“Strength certification? Just go for a comprehensive assessment test, then the system will automatically certify.”

“Thanks a lot!”

Expressing his gratitude, Lin You quickly dashed off toward an idle testing platform in the corner, giving the person quite a surprise.

By the time that person reacted, Lin You had already vanished from sight.

“Sigh, these new lords nowadays, all so reckless, really quite inexperienced.”

He shook his head while speaking, looking every bit like someone who has been through it.

However, just as he was about to avert his gaze and continue checking tasks.

His peripheral vision caught the information on the light pillar where Lin You stood, his eyes suddenly widened.

[Name: Lin You (Great Wilderness Duchy)]

[Territory: Plant Type (Tier Six)]

[Overall Strength Assessment: S-level]

[Territory Comprehensive Score: 1024]

…

S…S-level!?

The man was utterly shocked.

His mouth almost wide enough to fit a goose egg.

He rubbed his eyes vigorously, then looked again at the disappearing information on the light pillar, utterly dumbfounded.

A new lord?

You tell me this is a new lord who doesn’t even know about strength registration?

With this assessment, you could tell him he’s a genius in the Empire, and he’d believe it!

The man felt deceived, yet also deeply shocked.

An S-level comprehensive assessment belongs to the top tier even within the Empire.

Yet what shocked him more was the territory comprehensive rating below.

A score of 1024!

This assessment can’t be reached by some Tier Seven lords!

An exaggeration for a Tier Six lord, his territory must be terrifyingly powerful!

Not just him, but even Lin You himself didn’t anticipate such a high assessment.

This likely relates to the newly relocated Dwarf Tribe in his territory.

Being a full thousand craftsmen above Tier Six, coupled with the presence of someone like the Dwarf King Mageon, achieving high marks is inevitable.

Thus, to avoid drawing attention, as soon as the system notification sounded, he quickly left the light pillar and headed outside.

[Congratulations, strength certification successful, task acceptance privilege unlocked.]

Upon exiting the platform, the information on the light pillar quickly disappeared, taking merely two or three seconds, not many noticed.

He then returned to the center of the hall to accept the task he had just seen.

[Task accepted successfully, please proceed immediately to the Teleportation Plaza to report.]

Luckily, he made it in time.

Without hesitation, Lin You turned around and left the hall, swiftly heading towards the Teleportation Plaza.

He never noticed a pair of wide-open eyes watching him intensely from nearby, as if they had seen a ghost.

…

Very quickly.

Lin You followed the prompts and arrived back at the Teleportation Plaza.

At this moment, the plaza was already gathered with a team of Imperial Soldiers.

Leading them was a Tier Eight Lord, a middle-aged man exuding an aura that kept strangers at bay, also the Soldier Commander stationed in the Empire’s main city.

Nearby, countless other lords who had taken the task gathered and chatted quietly.

“I heard a large swarm of Tier Seven and Eight Chaos Demons have appeared this time, surrounding the battlefront, hence the urgent release of this task.”

“Tier Eight, wonder if it’ll be dangerous.”

“Don’t worry, the Soldier Commander is here, and this time plenty of Tier Seven Lords were summoned as well; we just need to focus on blocking the low-tier demons.”

“That’s good, these Chaos Demons are far more formidable than ordinary demons, a careless mistake could mean death.”

“Plus, those from the Primordial Evil Realm, who knows if they’ll create trouble this time, it’s better to stay cautious.”

“I agree, you can’t be too reckless.”

The conversations from the side conveyed to Lin You’s ears completely, gradually making his expression serious.

The horror of Tier Eight Demons, he had personally experienced.

They nearly wiped him out.

Moreover, it’s said that these Chaos Demons are stronger than ordinary demons, individual Tier Species might not even be a match.

Add in the potential disruptions from the Primordial Evil Realm’s lords, too many unpredictable situations exist.

This is why the Empire issued the task to summon manpower.

Of course.

Missions like these would never disturb lords above Tier Nine.

Nor mention about Tier Ten or above kings.

Since if you intervene, the opponent would send out a Tier Ten or Eleven, causing chaos for lower-tier lords underneath.

Thus, most of the time, lords above Tier Ten act as deterrents, not appearing easily.
