Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 136: Chapter 135: Where the Heart Belongs

This voice appeared very abruptly, interrupting the conversation of several people.

Turning around, they saw a Dwarf leaning on a cane appearing at the entrance of the mine, staring sharply at them, especially focusing on Lin You.

“Grand Elder? Why have you come out?”

Two Dwarf Warriors were shocked, gave Mageon a look, and hurriedly went up to greet him.

But unexpectedly, Mageon walked straight up.

“Father, the magma is about to consume our tribe, please hurry and lead the people away from here!”

Father?

???

Lin You, standing to the side, was full of questions.

This Mageon, is actually the son of the Grand Elder of the Dwarf Tribe?

This was quite unexpected for him.

The son of the Grand Elder, can he be exiled just like that?

Is there some hidden truth behind this?

Lin You’s thoughts were not as straightforward as Mageon’s, and he immediately sensed something strange, secretly observing this Grand Elder of the Dwarf Race.

Sure enough.

The look in the Grand Elder’s eyes as he looked at Mageon had traces not only of coldness but also of helplessness and reluctance.

But soon, he said angrily, “Nonsense! This is the foundation of the Dwarf Race for generations, how can we leave just like that? You have been exiled from the tribe, get out immediately! Criminals are not allowed here!”

After speaking, he glanced deeply at Lin You, then turned to leave with the support of other Dwarves.

“No! Father, listen to me!”

Seeing him leave, Mageon suddenly panicked, shouting toward the inside of the mine.

“If we continue to stay here, everyone will die!”

However, no matter how he shouted, the Grand Elder remained unmoved, continuing to walk inside the cave.

And the two Dwarf Warriors had to stop him, preventing him from getting closer.

Mageon became even more anxious, watching as the Grand Elder gradually disappeared from sight, his face finally darkened.

“Father! Let me in! I want to forge the War God’s Hammer!”

The words “War God’s Hammer” seemed to have some magical power.

Whether it was the Grand Elder leaving and the Dwarves beside him or the two Dwarf Warriors blocking him, their bodies froze instantly, looking at him in disbelief.

“Do you know what you’re saying!?” the Grand Elder said with suspicion.

“I know.” Mageon gradually calmed down, then raised his fist over his head. “I, Mageon Warhammer, swear by the name of the Warhammer, to forge the War God’s Hammer and become the king of the Hammer Tribe! If I fail, I am willing to throw myself into the magma!”

The powerful words resounded in the ears of everyone present.

Swearing by the name of the tribe was the highest-level oath, allowing no breach.

Even the Grand Elder and other surrounding Dwarves were moved by his firm belief.

The Dwarf Race has always stipulated.

Anyone who wishes to forge the War God’s Hammer must not be stopped.

Because that represents the tribe’s rise and fall, and more importantly, the will of the War God!

The Grand Elder looked closely at Mageon, his expression constantly changing, full of uncertainty.

But in the end, he could only sigh helplessly.

“Alright, let them in.”

Obviously, he was aware of Mageon’s collection of materials to forge the War God’s Hammer.

Even vaguely, there was a hint of expectation in his eyes.

Lin You, with sharp eyes, caught this change, further confirming his suspicion.

This Grand Elder.

It seems it wasn’t due to causing trouble among the tribe that Mageon was exiled.

And this guess was confirmed when he was allowed to enter the Dwarf Tribe with Mageon.

In the depths of the mine, in a massive community built around lava, there were only very old Dwarves.

Not even a single young Dwarf was in sight.

“This… what’s going on? Where are the tribesmen? Where have they all gone?” Mageon stared at everything dumbfounded.

“Foolish child, you shouldn’t have come back.”

The Grand Elder sighed.

“The young tribesmen have been called away by me; now only we old ones are here, guarding the last foundation of our Hammer Tribe.”

“How could this be…”

Mageon’s steps suddenly stopped.

“So it was to find an excuse to drive me away, Father!?”

Hearing this, Mageon couldn’t help but understand the truth behind it, instantly feeling unwell.

He felt deceived and overwhelmingly angry.

Not because he was exiled from the tribe, but because of the elders’ concealment from him.

These old generations of Dwarves actually sent all the young tribesmen away while they stayed to guard the tribe’s last foundation with their lives!

How could he accept this?

Aware of the truth, Mageon certainly didn’t want to see such a thing happen and suddenly turned to Lin You.

“Human, I need your help to forge the War God’s Hammer with me.”

At this point.

There was no use saying anything more.

As long as he succeeded in forging the War God’s Hammer, he could command all Dwarves.

By then, even by force, he would take these stubborn tribesmen away from here!

Only then would the Dwarves below obey his orders and abandon this home where they had lived for so long.

“We’ll help too!”

At this moment, the two gatekeeping Dwarf Warriors rushed in.

Beside them, there was even a large group of young Dwarves, all rushing back from outside.

The number was increasing, continually flooding into the mine, looking dusty and exhausted.

“Grand Elder, we are back.”

“Forgive us, Grand Elder, we still cannot leave the tribe like this.”

“I heard Mageon wants to forge the War God’s Hammer, so I rushed back immediately.”

“Mageon, I support you; you must become the king of our Hammer Tribe!”

…

“Why have you all returned!”

The Grand Elder, hating iron for not becoming steel, pointed at them, furiously stomping his cane.

Mageon looked at him, and his whiskers finally lifted up after a long absence.

“Father, now you have nothing to say, right? If I can successfully forge the War God’s Hammer, you must order everyone to leave here with me.”

It could be seen that Mageon still had many supporters within the tribe.

Moreover, they were also unwilling to abandon their kin and this place they had lived in for so long.

But it would be different if a Dwarf King were born among them.

As long as the Dwarf King gave the order, they must comply; by then, no matter what these old fellows said, it wouldn’t work, and they would have to move.

So many hoped Mageon would successfully forge the Sacred Artifact of the Dwarves.

It truly was the yearning of the heart.

In the blink of an eye, all the Dwarves within the mine began to bustle around.

They helped Mageon light fires, prepared materials, and made room for a substantial forging platform near the lava pool.

It symbolized the highest honor.

A forging platform allowing only the Dwarf King to use.

Now, amidst the gathering of all the Dwarves, Magre, carrying the Forging Hammer, stood on it, his expression unprecedentedly grave.

He stood in front of the platform for a long moment.

He finally picked up a piece of red-hot iron and placed it on the platform.

Then he shouted loudly, suddenly swinging the heavy hammer in his hand.

“Bang—”

“Bang—”

“Bang—”

The heavy pounding echoed continuously around the furnace.

Several Dwarves beside him vigorously pumped the bellows, stoking the materials bright red one by one under Mageon’s call, melding them into the iron on the platform.

Each strike of the hammer produced a resounding bang, as if hammering on their hearts.

The expressions on the faces of all the Dwarves gradually became tense.

Even Lin You was watching Mageon’s movements without blinking, fearing he would make any mistake.

After all, this was crucial for his future grand plans.
