Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 108: Chapter 107: The Mastermind Behind the Scenes

Wei Gang obviously didn’t expect Lin You to suddenly appear behind him.

After being stunned for a moment, he hurriedly came forward, and his previous imposing manner dissipated.

“I need to discuss something with you and check on the soldiers’ training,” Lin You glanced at the training ground and said with a smile.

“If you need me, Lord, you can just send someone to pass the message; how could I trouble you to come personally?” Wei Gang quickly said.

“It’s no trouble.” Lin You waved his hand to interrupt him, “I have something to give you, so I decided to come over.”

“Something for me?” Wei Gang showed a look of confusion.

Lin You didn’t say much, directly taking out the newly crafted Tier Six equipment from his personal space.

“This is… Tier Six equipment!”

With just one look, Wei Gang recognized the equipment in Lin You’s hand and couldn’t help but exclaim.

“What? You recognize this equipment?” Lin You asked, surprised.

“Of course.” Wei Gang nodded seriously, “Equipment of this level can only be forged by a Tier Six blacksmith. Even a Tier Six Cultivator might not have it. Lord, is this really for me?”

By the end, Wei Gang couldn’t help but swallow, unconcealed desire in his eyes.

Even the soldiers training on the field gathered around.

When they saw the weapon and armor in Lin You’s hands, they were even more shocked, exclaiming repeatedly.

It seemed this Tier Six equipment was indeed rare for them.

But it’s understandable; after all, it cost Lin You a full six thousand Magic Energy. If it couldn’t even compare to ordinary weapons, wouldn’t that be a joke?

With that thought, Lin You handed the two pieces of equipment to Wei Gang: “Take it; it’s your reward for stopping the troublemaker yesterday, and also a congratulatory gift for your appointment as Guard Commander, though it comes a bit late.”

“Thank you for your reward, Lord!”

Unable to resist the temptation of the Tier Six equipment, Wei Gang knelt before Lin You, excitedly and happily accepting the steel knife and armor from him.

“Rise; from now on, the security of Yellow Sand City will be in your hands.”

“I will do my utmost to live up to your high expectations, Lord!”

Wei Gang responded loudly, then slowly stood up, lovingly admiring the equipment in his hands.

Next, he wielded the steel knife and suddenly swung it at a wooden stake nearby. With a “crack,” the massive stake, needing two people to embrace it, cracked and split in two, and even a fierce blade light created a big gash on the ground.

“So powerful!” Wei Gang exclaimed in surprise, looking at the steel knife in his hand.

The soldiers beside him were filled with envy.

Recently recruited by Wei Gang, they were using only the most ordinary equipment, not even Tier One. Where had they ever seen such powerful weapons? They were indescribably shocked.

However, what shocked them even more was yet to come.

Lin You took out another set of equipment and handed it to Wei Gang: “I have a set of Tier Three equipment here. You can use it to reward your outstanding subordinates. When we have more resources in the future, I’ll get more.”

“Tier Three equipment!”

The soldiers’ eyes widened immediately, and their breathing became rapid.

These Tier Three equipment pieces were actually meant as rewards for them! Even Wei Gang found it immensely surprising.

Looking at the equipment in Lin You’s hands, he said, “Lord, is this really for me to distribute?”

“Yes, henceforth, anyone who contributes to the territory will be rewarded with a set of equipment Tier Three or above. As for the rest, I’ll get more new equipment for them to change into. Otherwise, what would it be like wearing such ragged gear?”

For the people of Yellow Sand City, Lin You was fair in rewards and punishments, as there are no rules without order.

If he were to develop the territory into a large city, it naturally had to start from the basics, so they would feel a stronger sense of belonging to Yellow Sand City and wholeheartedly engage in the subsequent territory development.

Territory development wasn’t just about building houses; it also involved constructing the people’s hearts!

That’s why he was willing to spend so much Magic Energy.

Wei Gang didn’t understand these intricacies, but seeing Lin You prioritize them made him incredibly excited.

“Lord, rest assured! I will arrange everything properly!”

With that, he accepted the equipment and stored it carefully.

Then, under the eager eyes of the soldiers, he was called aside by Lin You to discuss other matters.

“How’s the investigation I asked you to carry out yesterday?” Lin You inquired straightforwardly.

Upon hearing this, Wei Gang’s expression immediately straightened, and he whispered, “Reporting to the Lord, it’s almost complete.”

“According to those who came from Mo Yuan City, it’s now controlled by an Insect Type Lord, similar to you, Lord. He arrived more than half a month ago.”

“More than half a month? So he also survived the Battlefield of Ten Thousand Realms?” Lin You was quite surprised.

“Yes, it is said that the Lord’s summoned creatures are a kind of insect similar to the Insect Mother, capable of producing a vast number of insects with considerable strength. He also commands no less than forty-five Tier Six Cultivators under him.”

“Forty-five…” Lin You slightly frowned.

Forty-five Tier Six Cultivators, along with an Insect Mother capable of reproducing insects, indeed represented formidable power. No wonder the opposition had its sights on them.

“Oh, there’s one more thing.”

At this point, Wei Gang’s voice came through again.

“Those traveling merchants have mentioned that the old forces of the failed takeover in Shuangye City fled to Mo Yuan City afterward, resulting in tense relations between Shuangye City and Mo Yuan City.”

“Shuangye City? Does that mean that Lord also survived?”

“Yes, but it seems they suffered significant losses. It’s unlikely they sent people to cause trouble and then frame Mo Yuan City. Moreover, I received information that someone claimed to have seen the leaders of those troublemakers in Mo Yuan City. They are subordinates of the Mo Yuan City Lord!”

“Are you sure?” Lin You’s gaze turned cold.

Upon seeing this, Wei Gang shuddered slightly, “I’m sure! I have already sent someone to confirm it; there’s no mistake.”

“Alright, go back for now; I know what to do.”

“Then… I shall take my leave, Lord.”

Feeling the killing intent emanating from Lin You, Wei Gang dared not linger. With a respectful farewell, he turned and returned to the training field.

As for Lin You, he stood still, lost in thought.

It was now all but certain that the cultivators’ disturbances were orchestrated by Mo Yuan City.

And as the Insect Type Lord and ruler of Mo Yuan City, there was no way he was uninvolved.

Since they boldly injured his people, damaged his subordinate territory, and attempted to incite conflict between him and Profound Yang City, there was nothing left for him to consider.

Glancing at the sky, it was just past noon, and he immediately mounted the Wood Lion and headed back toward the territory.

What Lin You didn’t expect was that as he was hurrying back, two prompts suddenly echoed in his mind.

[Congratulations! Wood Shadow Dragon meets the upgrade requirement to Tier Seven. The upgrade requires consuming one Tier Six Territory Essence. Do you wish to upgrade?]

[Congratulations! Wood Lion meets the upgrade requirement to Tier Seven. The upgrade requires consuming one Tier Six Territory Essence. Do you wish to upgrade?]

“They have leveled up?”

Lin You looked in the direction of the territory, surprised that two species successfully ascended to Tier Seven.

But on reflecting, when he first arrived at the Primordial Continent, he initially recruited the Wood Shadow Dragon and Wood Lion.

Calculating the time, it was indeed time for an upgrade.

Without hesitation, he chose to upgrade and increased his speed toward the territory.
