Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 101: Chapter 100: Appointments and Building Upgrades

Since the income has started, Lin You can’t treat his citizens poorly.

Especially those citizens who have been working hard for him for so long; it’s not feasible to keep paying them with demon meat.

This was fine when they were lacking everything at the beginning, but now that Yellow Sand City has gradually developed, it can’t remain so primitive; it should have the appearance of a proper territory.

So soon, Lin You opened the personnel dispatch function on the territory management interface and began operating it.

The personnel dispatch function was only available after arriving at the Primordial Continent.

Previously, due to poverty and unfamiliarity with this place, this function had been of little use.

After opening the function interface, rows of citizen information immediately appeared before him.

Lin You thought for a moment and directly appointed Xue Changgui as the General Manager, placing him in charge of managing the affairs of Yellow Sand City and granting him the authority to allocate part of the tax funds to distribute wages to workers or to develop the territory.

Then, he appointed Wei Gang as the Guard Commander and established various stewards, granting them some management authority over Yellow Sand City.

As for how much to pay, he left it to Xue Changgui to decide.

After all, Xue Changgui has managed Yellow Sand City for many years and is very loyal to him; this minor matter can be trusted to him, as long as the territory doesn’t suffer losses.

And at the moment Lin You issued the appointments,

Xue Changgui and others, who were managing affairs in various corners of Yellow Sand City, were suddenly enveloped by a dazzling golden light, prompting them to halt their tasks.

“This is! The Lord’s appointment!”

Outside the city, as Xue Changgui was arranging citizens to plant trees, his eyes suddenly widened.

Accompanied by the shining light, Lin You’s appointment information appeared above the head of each appointed person.

“Today, appointing Xue Changgui as the ’General Manager’ of Yellow Sand City, responsible for managing all affairs within and outside the city, overseeing the citizens…”

“Today, appointing Wei Gang as the ’Guard Commander’ of Yellow Sand City, responsible for internal and external security, coordinating citizen management…”

The appointment texts, lined with golden edges, appeared extremely radiant against the backdrop of the light, instantly drawing the attention of everyone around.

And as the light enveloped them, the bodies of the appointed individuals began to change.

The most noticeable was Xue Changgui, who held the highest position.

His hunched body gradually became upright.

Even the wrinkles on his face and the white hair on his head started to rapidly disappear, making him look much younger.

Then his aura suddenly surged, advancing directly from an ordinary person to a Tier Two cultivator!

Even Wei Gang, who was at Tier Five, saw his strength significantly boosted by this power infusion, nearly reaching Tier Six!

“This, this, this…”

Xue Changgui was shocked as he looked at his hands and touched his face, hardly believing it was true.

But he soon reacted, discarding his cane, and with excitement, he knelt on the ground, deeply bowing toward the direction of Lin You’s territory.

“Thank you, Lord, for your great favor. Xue Changgui will do his utmost to manage Yellow Sand City both inside and out!”

Simultaneously, Wei Gang and the other stewards in different locations also expressed their gratitude, excitement evident on their faces.

When the golden light dispersed, people gathered around them to congratulate them and express their envy.

Lin You hadn’t expected the formal appointment of territorial officials to be so impressive; it even startled him.

However, it also saved him the effort of promoting it everywhere.

Moreover, he noticed that after these appointments were successful, the personal attributes of these individuals appeared in the management interface.

[Name: Xue Changgui]

[Position: General Manager (Yellow Sand City)]

[Level: Tier Two]

[Martial Force: 14 (+0)]

[Wisdom and Strategy: 75]

[Commander: 30]

[Internal Affairs: 87]

[Loyalty: 100]

[Equipment: Rattan Staff (Combat Value+0)]

[Ability: Business Calculation (Skilled in calculations, increasing territorial revenue by 10%)]

…

[Name: Wei Gang]

[Position: Guard Commander (Yellow Sand City)]

[Level: Tier Five]

[Martial Force: 48 (+3)]

[Wisdom and Strategy: 60]

[Commander: 86 (+2)]

[Internal Affairs: 27]

[Loyalty: 98]

[Equipment: Fine Steel Great Saber (Combat Value+3)]

[Ability: Gale Saber Technique (Increases saber power by 10%), Bravery (Commander+2)]

The attributes of citizens are quite different from species; they are rated based on the individual’s comprehensive abilities.

The highest ability score is 100 points, and it seems it can be improved with equipment and other means.

Xue Changgui’s 87 points in Internal Affairs and Wei Gang’s 88 points in Commander are already quite impressive.

But what surprised Lin You most was the loyalty of these two individuals.

Xue Changgui’s was maxed out.

Even Wei Gang, who had only been under his command for a few days, nearly reached the maximum, showing how loyal these two were to him.

As such, he felt assured in entrusting territorial matters to them.

After reviewing the information of the other stewards and converting 100,000 magic energy to demon crystals as internal funds for Yellow Sand City,

Lin You closed the interface with satisfaction and went to the place where he had previously set the food.

The citizens were truly thoughtful; they prepared several fresh dishes for him, all of them served hot.

They even set up the dining table beside the Tree of Life.

Having grown tired of eating roasted meat, Lin You’s appetite was immediately piqued, and he sat at the table to enjoy the meal.

This was the first time since coming to this world that he had eaten such a formal meal, making him feel nostalgic.

Indeed, humans are sometimes easily satisfied.

After quickly finishing the food on the table, Lin You wiped his mouth and grabbed the lord’s attire nearby, changing out of his somewhat tattered beast hide coat.

Then, with a swift transformation, he became a lord exuding authority.

To be honest, the attire fit quite well and wasn’t cumbersome.

Moreover, it was very comfortable to wear, without the expected constraints, something that showed the citizens’ dedication to its making.

At least Lin You was very satisfied.

“There’s still quite a bit of magic energy; let’s upgrade some buildings first.”

Seeing he still had 170,000 magic energy left, Lin You immediately went to the few basic buildings he had previously unlocked.

Previously, due to a lack of materials and magic energy, these buildings were upgraded only to Tier Four.

Now, with so much magic energy and a mine nearby,

he didn’t need to worry too much and directly upgraded the [Lord’s Castle], [Quarry], [Production Workshop], and [Territory Warehouse] to Tier Six.

In an instant, the entire territory shimmered with light as these buildings began to transform rapidly.

First was the Lord’s Castle, transforming from a wooden house into a magnificent castle treehouse, supported by several thick wooden pillars nestled against the main trunk of the Tree of Life, complementing it.

Seen from afar, it even resembled a forest castle, while also increasing the Tree of Life’s durability by 1000 points.

As for the Quarry,

upon reaching Tier Six, it appeared significantly different.

[Building Name: Quarry]

[Building Level: Tier Six]

[Building Introduction: Increases the territory’s mineral collection efficiency.]

[Collection Efficiency: Stone 160%, Iron Ore 140%, Copper Ore 120%]

[Upgrade Requirements: 1500 Wood, 1500 Stone, 750 Iron Ore, 750 Copper Ore, 3000 Magic Energy]

The Tier Six Quarry not only improved collection efficiency but also added efficiency for iron ore and copper ore.

This way, the speed of mining minerals would increase greatly, eliminating concerns of slow mining.

The Territory Warehouse naturally required no further elaboration, with its storage space substantially expanded.

What pleasantly surprised Lin You was the Production Workshop.

It added several new items and a new function.
