Super Strong Little Divine Farmer

Chapter 797: Chapter 798: Heightened

Seeing Lin Chen entering from outside, Mu Yusen excitedly stood up, ”Mr. Lin, you’ve arrived.”

Lin Chen nodded, ”Sorry for being late.”

”Not late, not late, just in time,” Mu Yusen said with a smile.

Li Meng looked at Lin Chen with disdain, ”Such an air about you, making all of us wait for you.”

Lin Chen glanced at Li Meng, ”So, this lady is the one who’s preparing to compete with me!”

Pfft!

Lin Chen’s words caused the entire meeting room to erupt in laughter.

Mu Feng couldn’t help but laugh out loud, and even Elder Sun’s expression turned a bit strange.

”Are you blind? I’m a man!” Li Meng bellowed angrily at Lin Chen.

”Really? Did you have a sex change?” Lin Chen asked with a puzzled expression.

By this point, Mu Feng simply couldn’t hold back his laughter any longer.

Li Meng had always acted superior, not even sparing a proper glance at anyone since he entered, and was even very disrespectful towards Elder Mu.

Unexpectedly, as soon as Lin Chen walked in, he almost drove Li Meng mad.

”Kid, are you seeking death?” Li Meng said, his face turning ashen with anger.

At that moment, Elder Sun coughed, ”Alright, the competition will start shortly. If anyone continues to create a disturbance, their eligibility to compete will be revoked.”

Hearing Elder Sun’s words, both men finally took their seats.

Elder Sun looked at the two and said, ”This competition concerns the ownership of Bai Cao Tang. The two of you will compete in medical skills and pill concoction. The winner will gain the management rights to Bai Cao Tang for twenty years.”

Mu Yusen’s face showed a tense expression, after all, Bai Cao Tang was his many years of hard work. But, there was no choice, as this was the sect’s rule, and he had to comply.

Now he could only pray that Lin Chen might defeat Li Meng.

Yue Qun looked at Mu Yusen with a mocking expression. He was determined to win this time. Even though Mu Yusen had invited Lin Chen, Yue Qun had investigated and found that in the medical world, Lin Chen was merely an unknown small fry.

Elder Sun looked at them and announced, ”Now we begin the first challenge, the medical test.”

The medical test was quite simple. Elder Sun would find a patient from among the crowd. Both participants would take the patient’s pulse, and whoever’s diagnosis was more accurate and whose prescription was more apt would be the victor.

The competition started, and both men sat in the consultation room. In the main hall of Bai Cao Tang, a sign was put up announcing ”Free consultation with renowned doctors, limited spots available.”

As soon as the sign was put up, it immediately attracted numerous patients, given Bai Cao Tang’s reputation. Anyone regarded as a renowned doctor by Bai Cao Tang couldn’t possibly be an ordinary person.

Before long, a long queue had formed at the door of the consultation room.

However, when the patients entered the consultation room and saw that the doctors were two young men, they all frowned slightly.

Then the first patient walked into the consultation room. Li Meng looked at him briefly and smiled, ”Sir, could you extend your hand to me?”

The elderly man nodded and handed his hand to Li Meng.

Li Meng’s hand rested on the elderly man’s pulse; his eyes slightly narrowed, and after a moment, Li Meng’s eyes brightened, and he swiftly wrote something on a piece of paper.

”It’s your turn,” Li Meng coldly told Lin Chen.

”No need, I’ve already completed the diagnosis for this elder,” Lin Chen stated indifferently.

”What? You’ve finished the diagnosis?” Li Meng was immediately stunned.

Traditional Chinese medicine emphasized the four diagnostic methods: observation, listening, questioning, and pulse-taking. Li Meng hadn’t detected any illness in the elder until he took his pulse, only to realize that the man suffered from liver cirrhosis—a condition Lin Chen seemingly detected just by looking?

At this, even Elder Sun beside them paused, and from his expression, even he had not detected any illness in the elderly man.

Elder Sun finished taking the old man’s pulse and said indifferently, ”Okay, give me your answers and the prescriptions you have written!”

When Elder Sun saw the symptoms written by Lin Chen, he was immediately shocked. The symptoms Lin Chen had written were exactly the same as those he had diagnosed after taking the pulse.

Upon seeing the prescription Lin Chen had written, Elder Sun was even more astonished.

Although the prescription written by Li Meng was also good, compared with Lin Chen’s, there was a significant difference in both the efficacy and the cost of the medications.

The medicine prescribed by Li Meng involved precious ingredients. If the old man were to procure the medicine according to the prescription, it would cost him at least ten thousand.

However, the prescription Lin Chen wrote used very cheap ingredients. It could solve the problem for just a few hundred dollars, yet its efficacy was by no means inferior to Li Meng’s.

What surprised Elder Sun the most was that the prescription Lin Chen wrote was from a secret book. Elder Sun himself had only seen it by chance after he had become an elder in the inner court and entered the scripture vault. But how had this young man learned about it?

Lin Chen had merely looked and identified the old man’s problem, whereas Li Meng had discovered it through taking the pulse.

The medicines prescribed by both were economical, but Lin Chen’s was clearly more cost-effective, securing him a steady victory in the first round.

However, Elder Sun did not directly announce the result, but said indifferently, ”The first round for both persons is a tie, continue.”

Elder Sun had become curious about Lin Chen. He wanted to see if Lin Chen had just happened to encounter a condition he was familiar with. So, he had Lin Chen and Li Meng compete in another round.

This time, a very beautiful woman walked in. As soon as she came in, a faint smile appeared in Lin Chen’s eyes.

”You go first this time,” Li Meng said indifferently.

Lin Chen’s eyes craftily surveyed the beautiful woman from head to toe, and he smiled, ”I have already made my diagnosis.”

”What?” Li Meng was immediately stunned.

While Lin Chen was diagnosing the beautiful woman, he had observed closely from the side. This guy wasn’t diagnosing at all; his eyes were clearly fixed on the woman’s legs and chest in a lecherous manner.

Li Meng snorted coldly to the woman, ”Miss, could you give me your arm?”

He also couldn’t figure out any illness on the woman this time.

Li Meng held the woman’s wrist, taking a full three minutes this time, but his frown deepened because the woman was apparently not ill at all.

In the end, it was still Elder Sun who took the woman’s pulse, and soon Elder Sun concluded that the woman was not sick at all.

”Alright, tell me the results,” Elder Sun said indifferently.

Li Meng glanced at the woman, ”She is not sick at all.”

Elder Sun nodded in satisfaction, ”That answer is the same as his.”

However, Lin Chen coldly said, ”Who says the beauty isn’t sick. Her condition is quite serious.”

”What?” Upon hearing Lin Chen’s words, both Elder Sun and Li Meng were stunned.

The beautiful woman was also startled by Lin Chen, as all the patients coming through the door were told not to speak, so the beauty had been holding back from speaking. Hearing Lin Chen say she was ill, she was also shocked and couldn’t help asking.

Lin Chen said indifferently, ”This beauty’s problem is with her chest; her breasts are too small.”

Pfft!

As soon as Lin Chen spoke, both Elder Sun and Li Meng were about to pass out from anger.

”Damn it, having small breasts is natural, how is that an illness? Besides, this beauty’s breasts are obviously quite large,” Li Meng snorted coldly.

Lin Chen smiled faintly, ”It’s a pity you call yourself a famous doctor. This beauty’s breasts are padded.”

The beauty blushed slightly upon hearing Lin Chen’s words, ”This gentleman is absolutely right, I indeed came to get a prescription for breast enhancement.”
