Chapter 754: Chapter 755 Extorting Director Tian (First Update)

Li Fuyou sighed, a trace of reluctance in his voice, ”Lin Chen, do you have a way?”

Lin Chen smiled, ”Curing the illness isn’t difficult, but you have to pay the consultation fee!”

”Consultation fee?” Hearing Lin Chen mention a consultation fee, Tian Wei almost passed out from anger.

”You clearly poisoned me, and you have the nerve to ask for a consultation fee?”

However, Tian Wei just wanted to rid himself of this agonizing condition, so he pleaded desperately, ”Fine, as long as you cure me of the poison, I am willing to pay.”

Lin Chen shook his head, ”You’ve got it wrong. What you have is an illness, not poison. I have never poisoned you, so it’s only right that I charge a consultation fee for treating you—after all, this isn’t a charity.”

Hearing Lin Chen’s words, Tian Wei was stunned. Why did those words sound so familiar? It was as if he had said them himself today.

Lin Chen scanned Tian Wei’s body then said, ”Your illness is not easy to treat! This is just the first stage of the pain. The second stage will be even more unbearable, feeling as if countless insects are gnawing at you. By the third stage, your body will become sores and you’ll die a miserable death.”

Tian Wei’s complexion dramatically changed upon hearing Lin Chen’s words, ”Mr. Lin, you must save me, no matter the cost.”

Lin Chen nodded, ”To treat your illness, we’ll need several expensive medicinal ingredients. Each one costs millions!” Lin Chen said with a grave tone.

”What, millions?” The amount made Tian Wei’s heart ache.

Seeing Tian Wei’s expression, Lin Chen smiled faintly, ”Of course, you can also refuse or seek treatment elsewhere. But let’s not forget to tell you, this disease has a very short onset period. It’s almost been three hours, right? It will soon enter the second cycle, and five hours later, you will die from your body festering.”

By now, Tian Wei already felt his body not only itching unbearably but also starting to ache, which matched exactly what Lin Chen had just described.

Hearing Lin Chen’s words terrified Tian Wei, and he hastily said, ”I am willing to be treated, no matter the cost, as long as I can be cured.”

Lin Chen nodded, ”Well, alright then. Considering that you are Uncle Li’s student, I’ll give you a discount—ten million with a twenty percent discount.”

”What? Ten million with a discount?” Tian Wei almost cried.

”Didn’t you just say a few million? How did it become ten million in the blink of an eye?” Tian Wei said angrily.

”The five million I mentioned earlier was for the first stage. Sorry, but according to my observation, your condition has entered the second stage, so the price has gone up. I told you, if you’re not willing, the door is right behind you.” Lin Chen said indifferently.

Tian Wei now noticed that the unbearably itchy sensation on his body was gradually diminishing, only to be replaced by a sensation as if being gnawed at by insects.

This feeling was simply worse than death, ”Alright, alright, I am willing to be treated.”

Lin Chen continued, ”Dean Tian, you should know the rules. Payment first.”

It must be said that Dean Tian had indeed skimmed quite a bit of money in his tenure; he transferred ten million directly to Lin Chen’s account.

At that moment, Tian Wei felt as if his heart was bleeding. This ten million was the money he had corruptly accumulated over several years, and now it was all swept away by Lin Chen.

Lin Chen smiled and continued, ”Okay then, I’ll start treating you now.”

With that, Lin Chen took a few herbs from his medicine basket and soaked them in a basin. A few minutes later, he lifted the basin of water and poured it all over Tian Wei’s head.

”What are you doing?” Tian Wei said angrily.

Lin Chen smiled faintly, ”Of course, I’m treating you.”

Tian Wei paused, felt himself, and indeed, the itching and pain were gone. Was it over, just like that?

He never dreamed that the illness which cost him ten million to cure could be resolved with just a basin of water.

Although Tian Wei felt unwilling, he did not dare provoke Lin Chen.

This guy was simply too bizarre; a couple of pats on himself threw him into a fit of agony.

When Tian Wei confirmed that the itching and pain had indeed disappeared, he didn’t care about his drenched clothes and fled in panic.

Now, in his mind, Lin Chen was nothing short of a devil, and he couldn’t bear to stay in Lin Chen’s presence for another minute.

Watching Tian Wei’s retreating figure, Li Fuyou sighed.

Lin Chen smiled faintly, ”Uncle Li, you don’t have to be sad. People like him will always be ungrateful, no matter how well you treat them.”

Li Fuyou nodded, ”Forget it, after all these years, since he doesn’t want to acknowledge me as his master, then I might as well not have him as my apprentice.”

Lin Chen laughed, ”That’s the best way to think about it. He’s not worth your sorrow. Uncle Li, I’m thinking of donating all the money extorted from Dean Tian to the charity fund, to help those poor people who can’t afford medical treatment.”

”Good, good, I agree, this money should rightly belong to those poor people anyway.” Uncle Li was unusually generous this time.

”By the way, Uncle Li, I need to take a leave of absence. My car was smashed, and I’m going to get it fixed,” Lin Chen said.

Having heard about the car being smashed from Ting Yuqing, Li Fuyou responded, ”Go ahead, and be careful on the road.”

Lin Chen drove away from the clinic, parked the car at the repair shop, and then took a taxi back to the courtyard house.

Just as he walked through the courtyard gate, he saw Wang Ke running out in a rush, carrying a pile of documents and collided squarely into Lin Chen.

Lin Chen felt himself bump into something soft and, looking down, saw that Wang Ke had been knocked to the ground, with her documents scattered everywhere.

”I’m sorry!” Wang Ke, flustered, squatted down to gather her papers.

Lin Chen also squatted down, but when he saw the design book, he suddenly froze.

”Is this project for Xingchen Company?” Lin Chen asked out of curiosity.

Wang Ke nodded, ”Yes, but their requirements are too high. I’ve created several designs, but they were all directly rejected.”

Lin Chen smiled, ”Don’t worry, this time I’ll help you with a design that’s sure to pass.”

”Really? You can make planning proposals too?” Wang Ke looked at Lin Chen incredulously.

Lin Chen nodded, ”Of course, I’m not just good at it, I’m an expert.”

He himself was the chairman of the Xingchen Group, as well as the company’s founder, and most importantly, Lin Chen knew very well what style Xue Ying preferred.

”For real? Our boss said that anyone whose planning proposal passes will get a promotion and a raise,” Wang Ke said with a look of longing.

Lin Chen smiled, ”Don’t worry, leave it to me. I guarantee your proposal will get you that promotion and raise.”

With that, Lin Chen went into Wang Ke’s room and began quickly sketching out a plan in the planning book.

Watching Lin Chen’s brisk writing, Wang Ke was astonished; she could never have imagined that Lin Chen had such talent in architectural design.

A very complex design for Xingchen Company began to take shape under Lin Chen’s few simple strokes.

Upon seeing Lin Chen’s design, Wang Ke was flabbergasted, ”Such a beautiful design, I believe we have a great chance this time.”

Saying this, an excited Wang Ke ran out with the design in hand.

Lin Chen watched Wang Ke’s departing figure and couldn’t help but smile, ”It seems Xue Ying is really striving hard, stretching her reach all the way to Zhonghai City from thousands of miles away.”

”Xue Ying, will you like my design?” Looking into the distance, Lin Chen muttered to himself.
