Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Li Yu looked at the two old men, secretly contemplating.

If these two really are as they say, if they can be brought to the Big Camphor Tree Base, they will play a huge role.

As of now, from the captured Southeast Asians, they’ve already extracted information about the strongholds in Lao Country and Yue Country, yet the main base in Myanmar remains undiscovered.

And no one understands Burmese. Since this old man knows it, might as well let him serve as a translator.

So, Li Yu wore a smile on his face and said to the two:

”Coincidentally, we need someone who understands Burmese. Your arrival is just timely. Do you have any plans next?”

Old Zhang exchanged a glance with his companion and said:

”To be honest, Southeast Asians are everywhere now. Our original plan was to keep moving east to find a safer place to rebuild a home.”

”But since you saved us, we think we should repay you. I’m willing to assist with translating. But can you tell us where you come from?”

Upon hearing this, Li Yu instantly understood that these two old men wanted to figure out his background.

In the doomsday, everyone is cautious. Blindly joining a force without understanding it could lead to disaster if it turns out to be a wolf’s den.

Thus, Li Yu pondered for a few seconds.

He quickly spent five minutes introducing the Big Camphor Tree Base.

Ju Tianrui looked at Li Yu with some surprise. In his impression, Li Yu had never been so patient to reveal so much about Big Camphor Tree Base to a stranger.

After the two old men listened to Li Yu’s introduction, their eyes held a faint expectation.

The one with a demeanor like a farmer pondered for a few seconds before asking, ”So, most of the people here have been in the military before?”

Li Yu nodded and said, ”You can interpret it that way, but not everyone is.”

”There are four levels in the system. If we join you, we start as cooperative personnel, right? By completing tasks, we can get food and shelter?” asked the physicist Old Zhang.

”Correct. If you can make significant contributions, there are exceptions, and you may even directly join our Outer City.

At our Big Camphor Tree Base, I can assure you that no one will bully you, and as long as you contribute, you won’t be treated unfairly,” Li Yu said patiently.

The two old men exchanged glances again, and Elder Zhang nodded to the scholarly old man beside him.

The scholarly Old Zhang then said:

”Understood, but besides the two of us, there are twenty-three students. Some are under my mentorship, and some under Elder Zhang’s. Previously, Old Song who taught chemistry and Old Ma who taught mechanical engineering both died last year. Their students now follow us.

After the zombie outbreak, if not for Elder Zhang leading us to cultivate land on campus, we couldn’t have endured this long.

If we join you, all of us must stay together; we can’t be split or abandon anyone. Can you fulfill this?”

Hearing this, Li Yu pondered for a while.

According to this old man, their specialties are mechanical engineering, chemistry, physics, and agriculture.

For the current Big Camphor Tree Base, these are all very much needed.

Just right, with these talents, the academic disciplines at Big Camphor Tree Base can be enhanced.

So, smiling, he said, ”Of course, but in that case, your contribution points would be distributed evenly.

Simply put, what one person could achieve might get everyone promoted directly, but when distributed, it’ll require more points for everyone to be promoted.”

Upon hearing this, Old Zhang said reassuringly, ”That’s no problem. How do you plan to arrange things next?”

Li Yu looked at them and said:

”We still have combat plans ahead, so we can’t take you with us. However, I can arrange a helicopter to transport you to the vicinity of our base, and someone will be there to meet you.

But, Elder Zhang, you may need to stay to help us, as we’ve captured some Burmese scammers and need your assistance with translation.”

Hearing Li Yu’s response, Elder Zhang’s face showed a smile, and he asked, ”I’d be happy to help. How should I address you?”

Li Yu replied, ”My surname is Li.”

”Captain Li, in that case, shall I bring the students over for you to meet?” Elder Zhang asked.

”Alright, Ju Tianrui, you go with them,” Li Yu instructed.

As they left, Li Yu turned and said to Li Tie, ”Tiezi, go get Lao Yi and the others.”

They were now in Qu City. Third Uncle and the others had flown here by helicopter, consuming fuel. After eliminating the Southeast Asian scammers in the area, it was fairly stable, so they parked the helicopter to refuel with aviation kerosene.

Upon hearing Li Yu’s instructions, Li Tie got off the armored vehicle and walked straight toward Lao Yi and the others not far away.

Before long.

Ju Tianrui brought Elder Zhang and others to the armored vehicle side.

Following behind the two elder professors, Elder Zhang and Elder Zhang, were over twenty young people, their tattered clothes and the student aura seemed to have been worn away considerably.
