Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Big Camphor Tree Base.

Li Yu stood on the wall, watching the people below busily clearing and repairing.

He looked towards the direction where Uncle and the others left, his eyes full of hope and a bit of worry.

At that moment, Second Uncle came out of the duty room and said to Li Yu, ”Xiao Yu, there’s news from Old Bi in Oil City.”

Li Yu’s gaze sharpened upon hearing this, and he nodded, saying, ”Alright.”

....

In Oil City.

Old Bi watched the overwhelming typhoon and storm outside; the rainwater had surged in, reaching his ankle.

The typhoon showed no sign of weakening, but their food supply could only sustain them for less than five days.

The location of Oil City was actually half a meter higher than the surrounding land.

There was also a drainage system.

But in this typhoon weather, the rain was just too heavy.

This area was originally a plain, and under the continuous heavy rain, it was prone to waterlogging.

Old Bi felt very frustrated; he had not expected to encounter so many troubles upon coming to Oil City.

”Old Bi, what’s up?” Li Yu contacted Old Bi.

Old Bi, feeling frustrated, replied, ”Director Li, how many days did the typhoon last when it passed by your area? It’s been four days here, and it still hasn’t weakened. Now the rainwater has surged up to our ankles.

Now everyone is staying indoors, and from what some people downstairs say, it seems the drainage pipe in Oil City is clogged, but we have no way to go out from indoors now.”

After hearing this, Li Yu thought for a moment and said: ”It’s a total of five days, the wind actually calmed down on the last day, just hang in there a bit longer, it should be over soon.

Also, regarding the food problem you mentioned last time, once the typhoon passes, I’ll send people to deliver food by helicopter from my side. Don’t worry about this.”

Old Bi, upon hearing Li Yu’s words, felt as if he had received a booster shot.

God knows how they’ve gotten through these past few days, with the storm raging outside, and zombies crawling all over the roof; if they hadn’t blocked off the upstairs, they might have all been wiped out by now.

They felt like they were in the ocean, like a small boat in the storm.

Any moment, they could be blown away by the wind.

Today, they noticed another crack in the wall on the left side.

If this continues, they really don’t know if this building can hold out until the typhoon passes.

Old Bi, with some grievance, said to Li Yu: ”Alright, Director Li, once the typhoon passes here, please definitely send people over.”

Li Yu understood the power of the typhoon, and knew the defenses in Oil City couldn’t compare to those of Big Camphor Tree Base.

Old Bi probably was under a lot of pressure.

So he soothingly reassured him: ”Don’t worry.”

.......

Outside Big Camphor Tree Base.

On the highway.

Just two days after the typhoon passed, Uncle and the others came out from Big Camphor Tree Base and saw a mess before them.

If it weren’t for Dapao and the others who had cleared the highway of rocks, wood, and other debris earlier in the morning, Uncle and the others wouldn’t have been able to drive on the road.

Just as they were about to reach the bank of Yang River, Uncle suddenly remembered something.

Zombies love moisture; some zombies even like to lurk in rivers and lakes. Are there zombies in Yang River?

On the other hand, the trees on both sides of the road were blown down by the typhoon, and with the torrential rain and rising water levels, they didn’t know if there were still Hook Vine plants over there.

Uncle was a bit worried, but for now, there was no choice; they had to find Hook Vine.

There were seven or eight of them in total, with seven guns, even if there were zombies in the river, they could just retreat if necessary.

As Uncle was pondering, they soon arrived at Yang River Bridge, which spanned fifty meters, with Yang River below.

At this moment, the Yang River’s water level had risen to only one meter below the bridge.

Uncle glanced around, then turned the car around on the bridge.

Parking the car on the bridge wasn’t a sensible decision.

After turning the car around, he parked it about thirty meters from the Yang River Bridge.

Then he pulled the handbrake and said to everyone in the car: ”That’s Yang River ahead, let’s get out here. Xiao Ding, you stay behind and watch the car.”

After saying that, he opened the car door and got out.

Li Yuan, Qingyang, Lao Xie, and others all got out of the car too.

Qingyang was holding the longsword that Ju Tianrui had just returned to him, looked around at the surroundings, then said to Uncle: ”We might have to follow the direction of the river to search, usually in some damp places, especially those river bend areas, there are more.”

Uncle nodded upon hearing this, then glanced at Li Yuan who was holding an automatic rifle, and said to her: ”Yuan Niu, be careful later, stay safe.”

Then he said to Lao Xie: ”Lao Xie, keep an eye on her later.”

After saying that, Uncle picked up the automatic rifle and walked towards the riverbank in front.

Due to the rise in Yang River’s water level, the road along the riverbank had been submerged, even flooding the abandoned fields by the river.

The plants by the river were also submerged in water, when they reached the riverbank, they were somewhat stunned by the scene.

With this level of flooding, even if there were Hook Vines, they should be in the water now.

Qingyang was taken aback for two seconds, then said: ”Walk along downstream, see if we can find any.”

Uncle’s face didn’t look too good, but he could only nod and say: ”Alright, let’s go, everyone be careful, there are zombies in the river, they might come out of the water at any time.”
