My Superpower Leads Me to Murderers

Chapter 53: Chapter 53: Exposure and Transfer

”The children can’t go back yet, but we can have them discreetly let their parents know they’re safe.

Also, one of the traffickers left for some business, possibly to meet with the mastermind. To avoid tipping them off, we need to keep this under wraps for now.” Evan Keller explained his plan in response to Heath Hale’s question.

Afterward, after briefly explaining his intentions to the chief and Elder Crowe, Evan Keller once again led his team members back to the bungalow.

This time, they moved the Tibetan Mastiff carcasses from outside the house inside, cleaned up the tracks in the yard, and then the group hid inside the bungalow.

To maintain communications, a police officer was stationed in the large tree by the entrance, hidden among the leaves.

He would watch the situation outside and report back at any moment via his earpiece.

And Zoe Sawyer’s door was closed.

They were waiting for a trafficker who could return from any direction, and Zoe Sawyer’s door, standing there so abruptly, was too conspicuous and could give them away.

It was better to stay in constant contact via earpieces. If anything unexpected happened, Zoe Sawyer could open her door and provide support.

Soon, after about an hour, two figures approached, driving toward the bungalow.

”Damn it, I waited there for over an hour for nothing! That Zoe Sawyer never even showed up!” The man driving stopped the vehicle, spat on the ground, his voice full of anger at the wasted time.

Sitting behind him was a slender man. Unlike the driver’s crudeness, this man was dressed entirely in white, even wearing a pair of white gloves.

Only after the vehicle came to a complete stop did he dismount unhurriedly. ”Stone the Second, take me inside to see how this batch of test subjects looks.

But... why is it so quiet?”

The man called Stone the Second quickly got off the motorcycle. Hearing this, he instinctively glanced around and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that nothing had changed.

Then, remembering he hadn’t answered the question, he quickly said, ”My two brothers must have them under control. One of them raises dogs and the other has a whip. They must have intimidated the kids, so that’s why it’s so quiet.

Boss Moss, would you like to go in and see? There are two kids inside who are quite good-looking. You’ll definitely like them!”

Hearing this, Boss Moss frowned. ”A whip? If their faces are damaged, I won’t take them.”

”That definitely won’t happen, don’t you worry!” Stone the Second promised, slapping his chest.

They certainly knew what these people demanded. To sell them for a high price, they would never harm their faces, which were prized the most.

Thinking about what he had seen over at the factory, Stone the Second shuddered involuntarily. He then pushed open the door and, with a fawning expression, gestured for Boss Moss to enter first.

Meanwhile, the young officer hidden in the leaves of the tree saw them push open the door. He tapped his earpiece, signaling to Evan Keller and the others that the targets were inside.

A moment later, he received a response.

The moment Stone the Second led Boss Moss inside, they were tackled to the ground by Evan Keller and his team, who were lying in wait.

The white suit was pressed into the ground, stained with the blood and mastiff feces on the floor.

Evan Keller and his officers surrounded them, covered their heads with black hoods, and then expertly frisked them.

They found nothing on Stone the Second except for a cell phone.

But what they found on this Boss Moss was rather unusual.

A tiny, sophisticated camera was disguised as an earring, and there was a gun tucked into the inner hem of his clothes.

What caught Evan Keller’s attention the most was a recently ended phone call. The call duration was a full two hours.

Evan Keller reached out and crushed the camera on Boss Moss’s ear. After confirming he had nothing else on him, he said with a grim expression, ”We’ve been exposed. Get them back to the station immediately. Time for the next phase of the plan.”

’They hadn’t expected him to actually be wearing a camera.’

Combined with that disconnected call, what had happened was self-evident.

Boss Moss, who hadn’t said a word since entering, finally laughed after hearing Evan Keller. ”You’ll never find it. Our locations are always changing. It’s not a place you can just stumble upon.”

”By the time you find it, we’ll have already moved to another location. Give it up.”

”Whether we find it or not is our business. You should be more worried about what’s going to happen to you,” Evan Keller sneered, pulling the black hoods back over their heads.

Sean Hughes, thinking they might be able to see the road through the gaps at the bottom of the hoods, found two strips of cloth and blindfolded them to protect Zoe Sawyer’s ability as much as possible.

After making sure nothing was missed, he called Zoe Sawyer and asked her to open a door.

’Time was short for the next phase of the operation, and they didn’t know if someone was watching the police station from the outside.

Using Zoe Sawyer’s door to return to the station was the fastest, most convenient, and most secure way!’

On the other end, the person behind the camera immediately hung up the phone the moment they saw Boss Moss being tackled to the ground.

At the same time, they urgently dialed their superior’s number. ”Boss, the guy who went to pick up the goods was caught by the cops. We need to relocate.”

’Now that he’d been caught, the police would undoubtedly dig into every aspect of his life—his personal connections, financial transactions, and daily movements would all be scrutinized. Those cops might follow some minuscule clue right to the factory’s current location.’

To ensure everyone’s safety, the standard procedure whenever someone was caught was for the entire group to relocate to a different place.

The person on the other end of the line didn’t say much, just told them to pack up quickly.

Meanwhile, inside the largest factory building, a group of people in white lab coats were hurriedly packing their equipment, muttering endless complaints.

”Why are we moving again? This location is great. It’s spacious and quiet. No matter how loud these pigs get, no one ever comes snooping around.”

”I heard one of the guys who went out for a pickup got caught. This is an emergency relocation to avoid being exposed.”

”What about the ones in the back, still tied to the chairs? Are we moving them too? Won’t they make a scene?”

”Just give them a shot, that’ll take care of it. We’ll have to get used to everything all over again at the new address. It’s better not to go out if we don’t have to.

Honestly, this has been the most comfortable place we’ve stayed. The resources are plentiful, transportation is decent... much better than that last place on the border!”

The two lab technicians couldn’t help but mutter to each other, a hint of resentment in the way they packed their things.

Beside them were several large plastic barrels, filled to the brim, their lids not even closed properly.

Through a gap, a severed hand could be faintly seen.

But the two of them acted as if they saw nothing, completely accustomed to it.

”If you have the energy to talk, you have the energy to pack faster!”
