Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce

Chloe Reed bit her lip, forcing her emotions under control.

She didn’t go into the hospital room. Instead, she stayed outside for a long time, waiting until she was sure she wouldn’t get upset again before heading back.

Madam Grant was already asleep. Chloe climbed onto the small bed beside her and gazed at her grandmother’s sleeping form. She mentally tore out that place of sorrow in her heart and cast it aside.

She was done with it.

’I accepted reality long ago, so what’s there to be sad about?’

It strengthened her resolve.

Charles Reed and his wife owed her far too much. If they dared to give Sunny Reed money, she wouldn’t hold back.

The Reed Group—she didn’t want it, and she would destroy it!

...

Autumn Linton didn’t come the next day.

Madam Grant didn’t ask about her, but noticing Chloe Reed’s haggard expression, she inquired, ”Didn’t you sleep well, Cherie?”

Chloe Reed nodded. ”Yes, I had to work overtime yesterday. I’m exhausted.”

Madam Grant said, ”You have to balance work and rest, or your body will give out.”

Chloe Reed nodded obediently. ”Mm, I know. I’ll listen to you.”

She had the three caregivers come back to continue looking after Madam Grant.

After breakfast, she headed to work. She had just arrived at the office when she received a call.

”Hello, am I speaking with Miss Chloe Reed?” a young man’s voice asked.

”Who is this?” Chloe Reed asked, her tone wary.

”My name is Zachary Bowman. Diana Sutton has entrusted me with transferring her assets into your name. Are you free right now? Would it be convenient to meet?”

Chloe Reed’s eyes widened slightly. ’I almost forgot about that!’

She suddenly remembered that before her grandmother’s illness had flared up, she had been planning to leave. And before she left, she had told Chloe she was going to give her all her assets.

’Thinking back now, Grandma probably already knew she was sick. That must be why she did it.’

Chloe Reed’s breath hitched, and a heavy feeling settled in her chest.

She took a deep breath before saying, ”Yes, I’m free. I’ll send you a location.”

Zachary Bowman said, ”Alright.”

After hanging up, Chloe Reed sent him the location of the coffee shop across the street.

She then quickly informed Kyle Coleman and headed downstairs.

Kyle Coleman: ”...”

’She’s completely out of control!’

’Leaving whenever she feels like it... I’m docking her pay!’

But then he had another thought. The amount of pay he could dock probably wouldn’t even cover one of her beauty treatments. He sighed. Life was so difficult.

...

「Half an hour later.」

Zachary Bowman arrived at the coffee shop and found the designated table. Upon seeing Chloe Reed, he said, ”Hello, Miss Reed.”

”Hello.”

Chloe Reed stood. ”Lawyer Bowman, please have a seat.”

Zachary Bowman nodded and sat down across from her. He then opened a briefcase and placed a thick stack of documents on the table before her.

”These are all of Madam Diana Sutton’s assets. They include, but are not limited to: thirty real estate properties, five private islands, and seven cruise ships. There are also various biotech stocks and bonds, a security firm, and several overseas industries... Please look everything over. If there are no issues, you can sign. They will take effect as soon as you do.”

Chloe Reed: ”...”

She was utterly stunned.

’Grandma... was this rich?’

’I don’t think the Reed family even owns a private island, do they?’

’Does the Grant family?’

’Oh, I don’t know.’

She had no idea how much the Grant family was actually worth.

But she didn’t care about the Grant family anymore.

With this inheritance, her net worth would instantly dwarf the Reed family’s!

She was thrilled, but her excitement was tinged with complicated feelings.

She took out a pen and began to sign. An hour had passed by the time she’d signed the last document.

Zachary Bowman gathered the documents and said with a smile, ”Miss Reed, from this day forward, I will be at your service, continuing to manage these assets for you. Of course, if you have a more suitable candidate in mind, you are free to replace me.”
