The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 1186: Chapter 1186: Turning the Tables

The Xu Family’s stone knife also has a name—Thousand Jin Rock.

Thousand Jin, as understood literally, naturally means the weight of a thousand jin, and as for rock, it metaphorically represents its material.

A rock as heavy as a thousand jin, to wield it as a weapon, is rare even among ordinary people, and not many cultivators use it, because if not handled well, it becomes a burden.

When wielded, it has the majesty of a tiger; then what kind of power would a Golden Core master have if they gather strength to throw it?

Kun Yun was sweating with fear; he did not want to find out!

But seeing that stone knife, Thousand Jin Rock, rapidly enlarge from afar and almost becoming the only focus in his line of sight, Kun Yun hurriedly pulled out five yellow talismans from his bosom, while his sharp fingernail sliced the skin of his middle finger, squeezing out a drop of golden blood and flicked it away, muttering a convoluted incantation rapidly, reacting extremely quickly.

The talismans are made of talisman paper, yet even if special, they are just paper after all.

Thin and light, five combined are not even one thousandth the weight of Thousand Jin Rock, but when Kun Yun’s blood dripped onto them, coupled with the incantation, a talisman exploded with a dazzling flash just like the detonator talisman previously placed on the elder.

The explosion of one detonator talisman subsequently caused the other four to explode at the same time, creating a continuum of firelight.

If these talismans were adhered to an ordinary person, the power would surely leave no remains, but at this moment, the power emanated by five detonator talismans only managed to deviate the trajectory of Thousand Jin Rock.

However, the deviation wasn’t large; when slashed down, the not-sharp blade landed less than two meters beside Kun Yun, embedding directly into the ground, creating a big pit with cracks spreading like a spiderweb from the center of Thousand Jin Rock. Dust rose into the air.

Seeing this, Kun Yun couldn’t help but take a sharp breath.

Even though there were just five yellow detonator talismans, they exploded together and surely packed a punch, yet why did Thousand Jin Rock deviate so little?

Such a situation has only one explanation: that the elder’s seemingly casual throw actually contained an enormous force, plus the inherent weight of Thousand Jin Rock and the inertia from throwing, the force far exceeded Kun Yun’s estimation.

”I really didn’t expect this, such a method exists, it’s the first time I’ve seen it,” the elder said, squinting with a smile, seemingly very interested. ”Demon priest, if you give me a few hundred talismans like that, I’ll let you go today, how about it?”

A few hundred?

Hearing this, the muscles on Kun Yun’s face twitched. Regardless of whether they are detonator or divine speed talismans, drawing talismans on yellow paper isn’t difficult. But the difficult part is the materials for making the talismans! These require various rare treasures ground into powder, mixed into cinnabar or talisman paper, to be effective.

Kun Yun had spent ten years accumulating these talismans, with only so many on hand. One less when used!

This Martial Sect is too despicable! Opening with hundreds of talismans, you might as well rob me outright—I’ve got nothing close to that many!

”How about this: you hand over all your talismans, and I’ll spare your life, deal?” the elder asked teasingly.

”Ha, no one has ever dared to covet my possessions so blatantly. If you want them, come take them yourself!”

After Kun Yun finished speaking, his ten fingers shifted continuously, forming one strange hand seal after another, muttering as he did when using the detonator talismans.

Seeing Kun Yun’s odd actions, the elder momentarily hesitated to step forward. He could see this old guy had weaknesses all over; even a single sword qi could slice him in half.

Yet the more flaws there were, the more cautious the elder became. What if it was a trap?

He didn’t want to act recklessly.

In merely five seconds, suddenly a fog arose from nowhere, surrounding them, obscuring the factory, and even the dimly lit sky.

Because of the dim environment, all this happened silently. By the time the elder noticed, the fog had already encased them.

”This isn’t good!”

The elder’s wary eyes turned to rage; he realized he had fallen for the old guy’s ruse! His vulnerabilities were real, merely a ploy to buy time!

”Cunning demon priest, take a blow from me!”

Just as the fog had yet to fully obscure his line of sight, the elder’s body flickered, stepping swiftly like lightning, covering three steps in one stride toward him. He held the Hidden Dragon Sword in reverse grip, the blade scraping the ground, producing a trail of sparks; beneath the sparks, a thin crack appeared in the earth...

Approaching Kun Yun, the elder used a simple but powerful upward strike with the honest and massive Hidden Dragon Sword, an angle precise with the force of a thousand jin.

This strike, the elder believed he landed successfully, but as the sword light flashed, the expected warm blood did not splash on his face. When he focused, there was no one there—just a mass of fog!

”Hahaha, Martial Sect, Martial Sect, those words ’simple-minded and physically adept’ truly suit you! How could I foolishly stand in place and wait for your sword? It was just an illusory shadow from a talisman. I’m not playing with you today, but next time I’ll take your life! Farewell!”

Kun Yun’s voice faded from near to far, turning from clear to faint, suggesting he had fled far away.

The elder watched the surrounding fog, simmering with rage, feeling utterly stifled—he, a dignified master at the Middle Stage of Golden Elixir, had let a yet-to-mature demon priest escape!

An incredible humiliation!

Suddenly, a flash of insight struck the elder, his face changed drastically from astonishment; quickly he withdrew with the Hidden Dragon Sword, moving at full speed, his body technique incredulously faster than before.

The elder rushed toward Lin Tian’s direction, quickly spotting a vague silhouette in the fog, and with a quick step, he propelled himself forward, wielding the long sword in a counterclockwise arc, leveraging inertia to cleave down forcefully upon the silhouette.

The shadowy figure in the fog was none other than the supposedly ’fled’ Kun Yun, that wily old devil; he had merely misled the Martial Sect to think he had gone afar, only to return intending to finish off Lin Tian and Xu Xianrong for good!

Luckily, the Martial Sect wasn’t as simple-minded as stated; he timely realized the ploy, turning back sharply!
