The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 1153: Chapter 1153: Who Is the Director

At first, the director Yu Qianming was biased against Lin Tian, but after hearing Lin Tian’s ideas, he felt a spark and asked, ”Earlier, you mentioned adding some clever twists to the advertisement so that each time people see it, it feels different. How would you do that?”

Earlier, Yu Qianming thought this idea was nonsense! After all, an advertisement is only so short.

But now, perhaps he really has a way.

”Have you ever shot a suspense film, Mr. Yu?” Lin Tian asked with a smile.

”Yes, yes, I’ve shot two: one was a mystery, and the other was a crime investigation,” Yu Qianming replied—his eagerness akin to a school kid eager to answer.

Lin Tian was quite satisfied with his response and said, ”Creating suspense, in my view, only requires a few brief sentences and some actions to build. Although an advertisement is quite short, we have enough time for suspense. We can shoot this ad like a short film; as for the suspense part, we could construct a previous story with a few words: due to certain events, they break up. What will be their ending later? Whether it’s the beginning or the end, it’s open-ended, isn’t it more thought-provoking?”

Listening joyfully, Yu Qianming closed his eyes to visualize what Lin Tian had described, and it seemed much more interesting than conventional advertisements.

”But for such a short film, isn’t a few dozen seconds too brief?” Bai Shishi asked.

Lin Tian waved his hand and said, ”If a few dozen seconds isn’t enough, make it a minute; if a minute isn’t enough, then two, or even three. What I need is essence, a thought-provoking video. I do not wish it to be constrained by duration.”

”I agree with Mr. Lin’s viewpoint; a good piece should not be constrained too much.”

Surprisingly, this time Yu Qianming stepped up to support Lin Tian, with a tone much more humble than before.

Bai Shishi squinted at Lin Tian and smiled, ”Well, since you all think so, let’s shoot it that way.”

The longer the advertisement, the more it costs to air on television. In prime time slots on TV channels, ten seconds cost tens of thousands (every day for ten seconds in a month); if it’s really two minutes, that’s millions.

Plus, large screens in city malls also demand quite a sum.

But Bai Shishi isn’t short on cash, and neither is Qiansimei. To build the brand, Bai Shishi is very willing to spend this money.

”Additionally, I have another idea,” Lin Tian said. ”For this advertisement, we could organize a topic event, inviting everyone to participate. Let them write their thoughts on the beginning and end; we’ll provide prizes, and if the creativity is excellent, we could buy the story. After all, there will be more products needing advertisements in the future.”

Afterwards, Lin Tian glanced around and asked, ”What do you all think?”

”Great! I think it’s a great idea.” Bai Shishi looked at Lin Tian, truly curious about the peculiar thoughts swirling in this young man’s mind.

Jiang Pan Die also liked this idea and laughed, ”I’d want to write it myself.”

”Of course, you’re the leading lady, with such a large fan base. This topic event will be led by you; it will surely attract many to participate.” Lin Tian laughed.

”Are you assigning me tasks?” Jiang Pan Die huffed.

Lin Tian laughed heartily, ”Can you accomplish the task?”

Jiang Pan Die gave Lin Tian a military salute and said, ”Mission accomplished!”

Her adorable demeanor resulted in a burst of laughter among everyone; the atmosphere improved significantly.

Next, Lin Tian elaborated on the story’s direction to everyone, particularly Yu Qianming and Jiang Pan Die, before beginning the shoot.

Just as Lin Tian had said earlier, the heroine is a lonely yet strong woman, internally tender, so the beginning was shot solo.

Jiang Pan Die first changed into a black office attire, black high heels, and paired with lipstick and light makeup, transforming into a strong woman in the workplace.

At this point, Yu Qianming showcased his solid directing skills.

”Pan Die, straighten your chest a bit more, make your gaze sharp, unleash your aura completely, imagine you’re a regal queen... Yes, that’s it, you’re doing great...”

At the start of the advertisement, Jiang Pan Die is portrayed as a formidable woman of strength amid challenging situations, seemingly unaffected by any storm.

Lin Tian felt a little heartache seeing this, suddenly holding Bai Shishi’s hand gently and looked at her with a soft gaze. In a tender voice, he said, ”Look, she’s acting just like you, must be tiring, right?”

Bai Shishi smiled, though with a touch of bitterness in that smile, ”Yes, very tiring. But luckily, I have you.”

Lin Tian was about to speak when Yu Qianming hurriedly ran up with the camera, startling Bai Shishi to withdraw her hand quickly; she worried this scene might cause gossip, given that Lin Tian and Liou Qingcheng are an item.

”Mr. Yu, what’s up?” Lin Tian asked, despite being displeased at the interruption, maintaining politeness outwardly.

”I’ve already wrapped a segment, wanting you to check if it’s good.” Yu Qianming said, ”I feel something’s a little off.”

Lin Tian was half-amused, who exactly is the director?

”Mr. Yu, can’t you spot the issue yourself?” Bai Shishi was slightly annoyed; after all, Yu was hired at a high price, failing to handle such matters?

Yu Qianming, feeling a bit embarrassed, laughed, ”I want to perfect the work, yet hit a minor snag. This idea was Mr. Lin’s, so I believe he might have better solutions.”

Bai Shishi smiled lightly without further comment, inwardly proud. After all, her man was truly outstanding.

After Lin Tian and Bai Shishi reviewed it closely, Bai Shishi said, ”I feel there’s nothing wrong.”

Indeed, there was no issue; Jiang Pan Die’s expression, tone, and actions were almost identical to Bai Shishi’s corporate persona, even more dominant.

Yet, Lin Tian found something odd. He reviewed it again. Unsatisfied, he looked once more. Not until the fourth time did he softly say, ”I feel the sound is somewhat excessive.”

”What’s wrong?” Yu Qianming was puzzled, frowning, ”Are you suggesting a silent film?”

Lin Tian was half-amused, saying, ”You’ve misunderstood; I mean, the visuals can stay, but the sound should be replaced with the character’s inner monologue. Does that make sense to you?”
