The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 1099: Chapter 1099: I Want a Baby

Bai Tianlong was in a good mood today, though he spoke less, mostly listening to Bai Shishi talking about recent company affairs, occasionally chiming in.

Bai Shishi is now indisputably the Patriarch of the Bai Family. Even if some elders in the Bai Family feel her role should be as a wife and mother rather than meddling in business, it doesn’t matter anymore.

Bai Shishi is now the most authoritative person in the Bai Family because she controls the lifeline of their business, and with money comes influence. Besides, with Bai Yu’s earlier colluding with outsiders, who would dare to cross Bai Shishi now? Unless they wish to be expelled from the Bai Family.

”After all, we’re all family. Don’t be too ruthless,” Bai Tianlong said leisurely. Over the years managing the Bai Family, he was well aware of their habits—mostly lazy folks who flock to interests but accomplish nothing meaningful.

”Rest assured, as long as they behave, making small profits is no issue. Most of the family’s businesses have been handed over to them, except the energy company, Qiansimei, and the department store, which no one can touch.”

Though Bai Shishi’s voice was gentle, her words were beyond dispute, even if Bai Tianlong spoke on their behalf, it wouldn’t matter. How these businesses thrived was due to her great efforts. Allowing leisure seekers to interfere would make it hard to answer to Lin Tian.

”Since the Bai Family is now yours, do as you see fit. I don’t care about other matters, just want a grandson sooner,” Bai Tianlong said softly.

”Understood.” Bai Shishi replied readily, though discussing such topics in front of her father always made her uncomfortable.

After chatting with her father for a while, Bai Shishi took Lin Tian to the supermarket to buy some groceries, planning to make a meal herself for lunch.

Actually, Bai Shishi’s culinary skills were lacking, to put it bluntly, she’s a novice. Apart from cooking noodles and frying eggs, she wasn’t good at much else, given that a daughter of her status rarely needed to cook.

Sometimes, though, cooking serves as a pleasant indulgence, especially when helping Lin Tian out. There’s a saying—working together doesn’t tire couples out.

Using ”teaching cooking skills” as an excuse, Lin Tian stood behind Bai Shishi, guiding her hands-on.

It was more about shamelessly taking advantage than really teaching culinary skills.

Even a second-grade student doesn’t need hands-on guidance to wash cabbage, right?

Bai Shishi was aware of his little schemes, neither exposing nor stopping him, although sometimes she wasn’t accustomed to having large hands roam over her body.

The meal took almost two hours amid their flirtations but turned out delightful. Cauliflower with squid, cabbage with vermicelli, sweet and sour pork, Mapo tofu, and lotus root rib soup.

Truly a feast for the senses, and before the meal began, Bai Shishi nibbled at several dishes like a greedy cat, constantly giving a thumbs up with praise.

Bai Shishi cherished such tranquil life, like an ordinary young couple—simple yet sweet to the heart.

As for Bai Tianlong, he was as usual, staring absent-mindedly when alone. This time, his gaze wasn’t outside but on a kitten and a puppy in the cage on the table—lost in thought yet gentle in his gaze, showing he didn’t mind these new companions.

After lunch, Bai Shishi tried to get her father to join her in a game of chess. But Bai Tianlong wasn’t in the mood, agreeing only after Bai Shishi coaxed him. He appreciated his daughter’s intentions, knowing that idleness could dull the mind.

Bai Tianlong wasn’t weak at chess, but his mood was poor, ending after just two or three games.

Leaning on his wheelchair, Bai Tianlong said, ”It’s rare for you young ones to have some time. Accompanying this old man is no fun. Go do what you should do.”

”Dad... You’re so eager to send us away?” Bai Shishi pouted, like an undeveloped little girl in front of her father.

”I’m creating an opportunity for you. I’ve already asked Xiaode to book movie tickets for you two, near the Celestial Dragon Hotel. After the movie, spend the night there and get on with important business.” Bai Tianlong said, giving Lin Tian a look implying he should seize the chance to make a little one.

Lin Tian could only smile wryly, yet he couldn’t let this intention go to waste, nodding repeatedly.

Bai Shishi felt reluctant, giving several reminders before leaving the rehab center holding Lin Tian’s hand.

Lin Tian understood his father-in-law’s efforts, but the movie tickets booked amused him—he’d seen the film with Liou Qingcheng the day before yesterday, and with Jiang Pan Die yesterday, and now with Bai Shishi today.

Being with a stunning beauty each day is nice, but watching the same movie three times in a row was tiresome for Lin Tian.

Whether intentionally or unintentionally, the booked tickets were in a dim last-row corner, with no one around, perfect for couples’ tiny secrets.

Lin Tian didn’t let this intention go to waste. Instead of watching the movie, he acted like a little rascal.

After the movie, Bai Shishi was flushed, her face red to the ears, with two rosy marks on her neck.

”It’s all your fault! Look at what you did!” Bai Shishi teased, trying to cover the kiss marks with clothes and hair, not yet comfortable with such marks being seen by others, even strangers.

Lin Tian chuckled mischievously, swaggering slightly with Bai Shishi’s hand in his, prompting her to smile.

”It’s getting late, take me back to the company.” Bai Shishi said.

Lin Tian tilted his head thoughtfully, ”No way.”

”Why?”

”Your dad said we’d spend the night at the hotel. I must obey, right? The room card is right here.” Lin Tian swung the card in his hand.

”...” Bai Shishi knew what Lin Tian meant. She tried to escape, but with her hand held tightly by Lin Tian, they eventually returned to the hotel leisurely.

This time, Bai Shishi wasn’t here for a job inspection but to... book a room, pulling Lin Tian quickly into the elevator, afraid of being seen by acquaintances.

It was a luxurious couple’s suite—soft bed, gentle lighting, roses strewn across the bed, wine on the table, painting the air with romance.

Females are perceptive creatures. Bai Shishi spent all day with Lin Tian, and her heart was still beating. Entering such a room, she suddenly tossed her bag aside, tiptoeing to hook Lin Tian’s neck, gazing at his face with autumn-like eyes.

”I think my dad’s right.” Bai Shishi whispered in Lin Tian’s ear.

Lin Tian with a playful smile asked knowingly, ”What?”

Bai Shishi softly replied, ”I want a baby.”
