The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 1086: Chapter 1086: Negotiations Concluded

Lin Tian rolled his eyes dramatically, ”You big celebrity, speaking so recklessly. What’s with the flirting? I’m a righteous man.”

”Oh?” Jiang Pan Die looked at him with interest and laughed, ”Then tell me, why are you wearing a suit? From what I know about you, it’s surprising enough that you’d pick an outfit specially for me, let alone a suit.”

”You’re my girlfriend’s idol. She knew I was coming to talk business with you and thought it was an important occasion, so she picked one out for me,” Lin Tian explained honestly.

A hint of strange emotion flashed through Jiang Pan Die’s eyes but quickly returned to normal. She laughed, ”I see, that’s how it is. Your girlfriend is Qingcheng, right? I’ve heard Zhou Mi mention her, and I’ve seen videos of her dancing. She’s amazing, even better than me. It’s my honor that she considers me an idol. I’m just curious why she didn’t come with you. Otherwise, I could’ve invited her to dance at my concert.”

”Isn’t this a business collaboration between us? She values it highly and thinks this kind of occasion isn’t suitable, but who would have thought you’d be so casual?” Lin Tian smiled bitterly, ”Also, you insisted that the higher-ups of my company call you before you’d negotiate, quite the ego you’ve got.”

Jiang Pan Die crossed her arms and laughed triumphantly, ”We’re old friends, aren’t we? I told you at New Year’s that I was planning a concert in Kanyue City, and you owe me a music video. You weren’t reaching out, and I didn’t want to take the initiative either, so here we are now. Ha, you came right to me?”

Lin Tian laughed helplessly, ”Why do I feel like I’m walking into a trap? Alright, we’ve caught up. Shall we get down to business?”

”Sure, but before negotiating, shouldn’t you keep your promise?” Jiang Pan Die said.

”What?”

”Music video!” Jiang Pan Die emphasized, ”My album’s almost out, but I still have one music video that hasn’t been shot. You forgot about it, didn’t you?”

Lin Tian scratched his head, ”It’s not that I’m unwilling to help, you didn’t notify me.”

”Consider yourself notified now, right?”

”...”

”So when are you planning to shoot?”

”After the concert, it’ll take just a few days, you should have time, right?”

”I can spare a few days, no problem.” Lin Tian nodded readily, ”So can we talk about the endorsement now?”

”Of course we can.” Jiang Pan Die said, ”Do you know why, till now, I’ve never endorsed other products or companies?”

”Because others don’t offer a high price?”

”That’s part of the reason. An image spokesperson represents a company’s image. Previously in our circle, it was normal to endorse and shoot ads for multiple products, one person could endorse four or five products without issue. It was chaotic, so now, spokespeople and companies are usually one-to-one; the spokesperson needs to be ’loyal’. It’s professional ethics and stipulated in the contract. So endorsing a product requires understanding it first. Quality, strength, and popularity are factors I consider. Other companies approached me, but the negotiations fell through.”

”I understand what you’re saying, there are surely plenty of big companies around. So why didn’t any deals happen?”

”There are many reasons, it’s hard to explain quickly. But I am interested in Qiansimei; I’ve used their products, and they’re really good. I want to cooperate, so let’s talk about the price now.”

Lin Tian thought for a moment and said, ”Eighteen million, two years.”

For the next two years, Jiang Pan Die would be the image spokesperson for the company, meaning she’d endorse anything Qiansimei released. Eighteen million is quite a sum, not easy to come by.

Jiang Pan Die’s beautiful eyes roamed over Lin Tian, and she laughed, ”This price isn’t low... but it’s also not high. We’re old friends, after all—you can’t treat me so poorly.”

Lin Tian sighed, ”And this is poor treatment?”

Jiang Pan Die let out a little humph and, with her head held high, said proudly like a princess, ”Other companies usually offer twenty million when negotiating. As my friend, why offer less instead? Surely your company estimated more than eighteen million for me? You’re not being very ethical.”

Lin Tian chuckled, not feeling embarrassed. He held up two fingers, ”How about twenty million?”

”Pfft...” Jiang Pan Die burst into laughter, ”You suddenly seem like an honest guy, and let me tell you—you’re pretty cute.”

”So you’re agreeing?”

Jiang Pan Die shook her head, ”Still too low.”

Lin Tian spread his hands and smiled wryly, ”I’ve never negotiated this before. Just tell me what you want.”

”I’ve noticed, if it wasn’t me negotiating, you might’ve been taken for a ride.” Jiang Pan Die thought for a while, then laughed, ”Twenty million isn’t out of the question. But... you need to entertain me first, join my concert as a guest, and besides the music video we discussed, you need to shoot two more with me.”

Lin Tian’s jaw dropped in disbelief, ”Why do I feel like I’m signing a slave contract instead of a deal?”

”Hehe...” She laughed like a songbird, ”You could say so.”

Lin Tian shook his head, ”Don’t take me for a fool, my celebrity status is not low either. Do I get some salary for this? My appearance fee is quite hefty!”

”I know, that’s why I said twenty million. Otherwise, the price would be higher,” Jiang Pan Die replied.

”Still too high, is my appearance fee that low? Eighteen million, one word: Deal or no deal?” Lin Tian asked.

Jiang Pan Die suddenly smiled radiantly, ”Deal! No problem!”

Lin Tian’s face changed slightly, feeling like he might’ve walked into a trap. She agreed way too readily!

”What, are you having second thoughts?” Jiang Pan Die pouted, ”You’re just going to be a stage guest and shoot some music videos with me. I’ve lost out on millions, I’m taking a big hit! Other artists have their companies decide these endorsement matters, only because of my high popularity do I have some freedom. With such a low price, I’ll be criticized when I go back.”

Lin Tian couldn’t help feeling sorry seeing her pitiful expression, ”Don’t worry, I won’t back out.”

”So it’s settled then!” Jiang Pan Die smiled brightly again, raising her glass, ”Come on, let’s toast to celebrate quickly, eat faster, and then we’ll go out walking.”

”You still want to go out? Aren’t you busy with the concert?”

”The concert has been prepared for the past half month; taking one night off won’t hurt. I’ve been busy with schedules lately. Even with this mask, I haven’t had time to go out and no one to accompany me. You came just in time! What, you don’t want to join?”

Lin Tian laughed, ”Alright, alright.”

”I’m in a good mood today. Whatever you eat or buy later, I’ll cover the cost.”

”Are you planning to sponsor me?”

Jiang Pan Die laughed brightly, ”You could think of it that way too.”
