Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

All that remained of the Great General was his upper body. His lower half had vanished, and blood gushed endlessly from the wound.

His eyes were wide open, his face a mask of utter terror.

To instill such fear in a third-level Life and Death Realm expert...

There was no doubt about it; this dog Demon Beast had to be at the Emperor Realm!

’I have no idea where the Holy Emperor got the courage to provoke an Emperor Realm Demon Beast. Did he find it in a cereal box?’

Chu Sheng scoffed internally.

But then, a crucial point occurred to him, and he asked urgently, ”Immortal Venerable Shi Xi, didn’t you say it would be safe in here?”

”The previous Demon Beasts were one thing, but this dog Demon Beast is at the Emperor Realm! There’s no way I can beat it!”

Immortal Venerable Shi Xi replied calmly, ”This black dog isn’t the Baqi Mirror’s Guardian Beast. It was trapped here *by* the Baqi Mirror.”

”As long as you take the Baqi Mirror and don’t provoke it, it won’t bother with you.”

”Oh, I see.” Chu Sheng’s understanding dawned. Then, his curiosity piqued, he asked, ”From the way you say it, Immortal Venerable, it sounds like you’re quite familiar with this black dog?”

Immortal Venerable Shi Xi stated calmly, ”I just happen to know its master, that is all.”

Seeing that Immortal Venerable Shi Xi had no intention of elaborating, Chu Sheng didn’t press the matter.

He suddenly had a brilliant idea.

’If I use the Baqi Mirror to threaten it, could I make it my mount?’

’A mosquito riding an Emperor Realm mount... how epic would that be!’

Immortal Venerable Shi Xi seemed to pause for a moment. ”That method you proposed... it could work, but...”

”Never mind. I doubt that person would hold it against you.”

「Meanwhile.」

When the Sakura Holy Emperor saw the black dog charge out, he was scared out of his wits.

”Impossible... Lord Amaterasu clearly said that if I fed this Demon Beast a Soul-Devouring Pill, its power would drop to the King Realm.”

”How can its power be completely unchanged after all this time?!”

Hearing the Sakura Holy Emperor’s words, Chu Sheng finally understood.

’So the Holy Emperor’s courage came from the so-called Ancient Gods of Sakura.’

’It seemed those Ancient Gods weren’t acting in good faith, though. They were clearly setting him up.’

Chu Sheng decided to bide his time and see how things played out.

After all, it was only a matter of time before the dog Demon Beast devoured the Sakura Holy Emperor.

The Sakura Holy Emperor fled for his life, with the dog Demon Beast giving chase at an unhurried pace.

The dog Demon Beast stayed right on the Holy Emperor’s heels, maintaining a constant, close distance.

Every so often, it would lash out with a claw and rake the Holy Emperor’s back, leaving behind bloody gashes that reached the bone, as if toying with its prey.

The chase between man and beast continued until they soon burst out of the cavern and back to the base of the volcano within Mount Fuji.

Only after leaving the space enveloped by the Baqi Mirror’s power did the dog Demon Beast suddenly accelerate. It lunged forward, its massive paw slamming down on the Sakura Holy Emperor’s back, pinning him firmly to the ground.

The Sakura Holy Emperor was unable to move and could only struggle desperately. ”I am the Sakura Holy Emperor! You can’t kill me!”

But alas, the dog Demon Beast’s face only held a mocking expression.

It was clearly unimpressed by the Sakura Holy Emperor’s status.

Seeing that his status was useless, the Sakura Holy Emperor quickly played his last card. ”Lord Amaterasu sent me! If you kill me, Lord Amaterasu will not spare you!”

Even though Amaterasu had been obliterated by a Celestial Tribulation, the Sakura Holy Emperor had no choice but to use his name, hoping it would scare away the Demon Beast.

However, upon hearing the name ”Amaterasu,” the dog Demon Beast’s expression changed.

Its earlier mockery morphed into undisguised disdain and contempt.

Clearly, this dog Demon Beast knew Amaterasu but held him in utter contempt.

’An Emperor Realm Demon Beast that looks down on a god?’ Chu Sheng was astonished, his curiosity about the dog’s origins growing.

「Just then.」

RUMBLE!!!

The entirety of Mount Fuji suddenly began to shake violently, as if struck by a magnitude-18 earthquake.

Immediately following, a colossal wall of water, hundreds of meters high, rose from the distant sea and hurtled toward the Sakura Country’s coastline with unstoppable force!

A massive tsunami, large enough to engulf the entire Sakura Country, had suddenly formed!

Pinned to the ground, the Sakura Holy Emperor could only stare blankly at the distant ocean, watching his country be swallowed, piece by piece, by the monstrous tsunami.

His eyes were wide, his face etched with utter disbelief.

”What’s happening? What’s going on! Why is there a tsunami?!” he screamed hysterically.

Just as he was reeling in confusion, a very familiar mosquito flapped its wings and flew leisurely before his eyes.

”You!” The Holy Emperor’s eyes turned bloodshot the moment he saw Chu Sheng. ”It was you! You’re the one who made the tsunami swallow Sakura Country! This is all your doing!”

He struggled furiously, trying to lunge forward and kill Chu Sheng, but he could not break free from the dog Demon Beast’s powerful grip.

”You damn mosquito! I, the Emperor, will subject you to death by a thousand cuts! I will grind your bones to dust!”

”Idiot.” Chu Sheng’s voice echoed calmly in his mind via soul transmission. ”You were set up by your own Ancient Gods.”

He extended a foreleg, pointing at the hand with which the Sakura Holy Emperor clutched the Baqi Mirror. ”The moment the Baqi Mirror is removed, Mount Fuji erupts, a tsunami appears, and all of Sakura Country is swallowed by the sea.”

”This was all planned long ago by the very Ancient Gods you worship.”

”Impossible! Absolutely impossible! How could the great Ancient Gods deceive me? They are the guardian deities of Sakura!” the Holy Emperor roared hysterically, refusing to believe the truth.

”Use your brain, you idiot,” Chu Sheng said with contempt. ”Do you really think I’m powerful enough to conjure a tsunami of this magnitude?”

Chu Sheng’s question was like a sharp dagger, twisting cruelly in the Holy Emperor’s heart.

The expression on his face slowly went slack.

’That’s right... no matter how powerful a mosquito is, it’s only at the Emperor Level. How could it possibly create a tsunami capable of engulfing an entire country?’

’So... from the very beginning, I was just a pawn in the hands of the Ancient Gods.’

’A disposable pawn, to be cast aside once its purpose was served.’

”Why... Why would they do this...”

The Holy Emperor muttered to himself, his gaze turning vacant.

He never imagined that he would be the one to bring ruin to the very Sakura Country he had sworn to protect!

”AAAAAHHH!!!”

The Sakura Holy Emperor let out a bloodcurdling scream, having lost his mind completely.

The dog Demon Beast furrowed its brow, perhaps finding the Holy Emperor’s screeching to be too noisy.

It lifted its other paw and brought it down on the Holy Emperor’s head.

SPLAT.

The Sakura Holy Emperor’s head was instantly smashed into a pulp, not even giving him time to cry out.

Having dealt with the Holy Emperor, the dog Demon Beast lifted its paw and looked down at the Baqi Mirror on the ground.

It slowly lowered its head, preparing to retrieve the Baqi Mirror.

As long as it held the Baqi Mirror, no one would ever be able to trap it again!

「Just then.」

A colossal Primordial Holy Mosquito, over a hundred meters long, suddenly materialized before it, blocking its line of sight.

The dog Demon Beast froze for a second, clearly not expecting anyone would dare to stand in its way.

It impatiently raised a paw and, with a casual backhand swat, sent the Primordial Holy Mosquito flying.

But in that brief moment of distraction...

...the Baqi Mirror, which had been right under its nose, vanished.

The dog Demon Beast jerked its head up, its gaze snapping toward the volcano’s crater.

There, it saw the tiny White-striped Aedes Mosquito from before, holding the Baqi Mirror with its two front legs as it stood on the very edge of Mount Fuji’s crater.

Chu Sheng brandished the Baqi Mirror in his grasp.

”This mountain is about to sink into the sea. All I have to do is toss this Baqi Mirror back in.”

”After that, it’ll be impossible for anyone to ever retrieve the Baqi Mirror again.”

”And you will be trapped here forever.”

”If you want your freedom, you will become my mount.”
