Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 136: Chapter 136: All Cards on the Table: A Life-for-Life Bloody Battle Against a Mid-Stage Grade 4 Demon Beast

“BZZZ! (Kiting tactics! You can’t hit me. Aren’t you pissed?!)”

Chu Sheng taunted the beast, repeating his old trick of constantly switching forms to toy with the simple-minded giant ape.

Whenever the giant ape unleashed a powerful Skill, he would instantly switch to his Primitive Form and effortlessly dodge it!

Then he would circle around to its back, switch back to his battle form, and launch a [Soul-Bursting Flame Feather] to wear it down.

The Golden-Scaled Monocled Ape was driven into a frenzy by his shameless tactics and began to frantically unleash area-of-effect attacks!

Each stomp of its massive feet triggered a minor earthquake, pulverizing hundreds of Spirit-Devouring Worms!

’Hsss… This isn’t good!’

Chu Sheng’s brow furrowed as he watched the number of his minions plummet.

’No, this can’t go on!’

’These hit-and-run tactics are safe, but the damage output is too low! And the toll on my minions is too high!’

’This is reality, not a game. When my minions die, they’re really dead!’

’By the time I wear down this gorilla’s shield, my ten thousand-plus minions will probably all be dead!’

’I have to change my strategy!’

He took a deep breath, a look of grim determination flashing in his eyes.

’Time to go all in!’

No longer dodging, he charged forward to meet the Golden-Scaled Monocled Ape’s millstone-sized fist head-on!

Seeing this, everyone’s hearts leaped into their throats!

’Is it insane?!’

’That’s a full-powered strike from a Fourth-Grade Middle Stage Demon Beast! And it’s trying to tank it?!’

BOOM—!!!

Amidst a deafening roar, Chu Sheng’s eighteen-centimeter body was sent flying like a cannonball, slamming into the hard alloy arena and creating a massive crater!

However, to the utter astonishment of the onlookers, Chu Sheng, who had taken the full force of that blow, wobbled back into the air!

The Nether Flame on his body had dimmed considerably and his aura had weakened, but… he was largely unharmed!

“How is that possible?!”

Upon seeing this, many of the candidates—including top-notch prodigies like Chu Yiran, Qin Zheng, and Mu Linyuan—couldn’t help but cry out in shock!

’That Defense… is too fucking outrageous!’

’So a Demon Beast can actually exist that can tank a Fourth-Grade’s attack while at the Third-Grade?!’

’And a mosquito, no less! An insect-type Demon Beast, widely considered to have the worst Defense!’

’This is a hundred times more fucking absurd!’

Only Chu Sheng himself knew how much that last blow had hurt.

The [Nether Flame Battle Armor] mitigated nearly half the damage. In order to preserve as many minions as possible, he took thirty percent of the remaining damage himself!

The rest was transferred to eight or nine hundred Spirit-Devouring Worms in his Insect Nest Space via [Ten Thousand Insects Substitute]!

A single punch had cost him nearly a thousand minions and left him with internal injuries!

’But… it was worth it!’

While tanking the attack, he had also slammed a full-powered [Soul-Bursting Flame Feather] squarely into the Golden-Scaled Monocled Ape’s chest!

CRACK—!

Under the force of this blow, the layer of Protective Gang Qi, already riddled with cracks, finally shattered completely!

Countless fiery feathers, their momentum unchecked, bombarded the ape’s dark-gold scales, erupting in a shower of brilliant sparks!

Though they still failed to pierce its defenses, the terrifying force of the impact sent the Golden-Scaled Monocled Ape’s massive body stumbling back a dozen steps!

’It’s working!’

’The tactic worked!’

Chu Sheng’s eyes brightened, and his whole body buzzed with excitement!

’In that case… let’s have a real brawl!!’

The battle that followed devolved into an incredibly bloody war of attrition!

Chu Sheng abandoned all evasion, transforming into a fearless berserker and charging headlong into the Golden-Scaled Monocled Ape’s attacks again and again!

Every direct clash was accompanied by the deaths of hundreds of Spirit-Devouring Worms and the worsening of his own injuries.

But by the same token, each of his own attacks left bone-deep gashes on the Golden-Scaled Monocled Ape’s body!

「Time passed, second by second.」

The scene on the battlefield was gruesome to the extreme.

More than half of Chu Sheng’s Spirit-Devouring Worms had been wiped out, leaving fewer than eight thousand!

As for Chu Sheng himself, several pieces of his jet-black carapace were shattered, his Nether Flame-wreathed wings were damaged, and his aura had grown faint!

The Golden-Scaled Monocled Ape, however, was in an even more wretched state.

Its body was covered in blackened wounds scorched by the Nether Flame. Large patches of its dark-gold scales had peeled off, dripping with blood. One of its eyes had been pierced straight through by Chu Sheng’s proboscis, blinding it completely!

The savagery and disdain in its eyes had long vanished, replaced by a deep-seated fear and… disbelief!

’It didn’t understand!’

’Why was this mosquito before it like an unkillable cockroach?!’

’Why did my full-powered attacks, the attacks of a Fourth-Grade Middle Stage beast, only ever inflict minor injuries?!’

’This is impossible!!’

Finally!

After another brutal exchange, the Golden-Scaled Monocled Ape’s aura was the first to falter, reaching its absolute limit.

Chu Sheng seized the fleeting opportunity!

He let out a piercing shriek, pouring every last bit of energy left in his body into his proboscis and wings without reservation!

[Soul-devouring Nether Flame]!

[Soul-Bursting Flame Feather]!

Two of his ultimate skills, combined into one!

He transformed into a streak of dark red, deadly light and, with unstoppable determination, shot mercilessly toward the Golden-Scaled Monocled Ape’s massive head!

SQUELCH—!!!

It was the muffled sound of flesh being torn apart.

A massive amount of Nether Flame poured into the Golden-Scaled Monocled Ape’s body, silently and relentlessly burning away its Spirit and internal organs!!

“Argh…”

The grievously wounded Golden-Scaled Monocled Ape had no more Qi Blood to protect its internal organs. In a mere instant, its eyes glazed over.

The battle was over.

The Golden-Scaled Monocled Ape’s massive body crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

And the entire world fell into a dead silence.

All the candidates stared dumbfounded at the ferocious giant mosquito teetering in mid-air, at the decimated swarm behind it, their minds completely blank.

’It… it won?’

’A Peak of Third-Grade… really… really just defeated a Fourth-Grade Middle Stage Demon Beast known for its Defense Power through sheer, raw strength?!’

At that moment, only a single thought remained in everyone’s mind.

’A monster? A freak of nature?’

’Those words weren’t nearly enough to describe this mosquito!’

’This… was a goddamn miracle!!’

’A miracle worthy of being recorded in the Federation’s textbooks, one that would astound all future generations of Beast Tamers!’

“It… won?”

After an unknown amount of time, a trembling, dream-like whisper finally broke the silence from within the crowd.

BOOM!

That voice was like a bombshell dropped on a calm lake, instantly sending the entire crowd into an uproar!
