Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Zheng Lihong hugged her son, ”Aunt Lu, it’s okay, I’ll take him to his grandma’s house.”

Hong Lin couldn’t bear to see her son like this, ”Lihong, let him go, the two of us will ride bikes back home on Friday night to pick him up.”

”It’s too much trouble.”

”What’s the trouble? You go pack a few clothes for Zhibin and come back with me for a visit. Isn’t his grandpa still there?”

When Li Yunqiao came home from work in the evening, he saw his grandson was also going along.

Guodong was driving, Li Yunqiao sat in the front passenger seat, and the remaining four women and two children were in the back.

”Your driving is already very steady, not bad.”

”Uncle Wei and Uncle Yang both don’t want to drive. Before, when Chaoyang was at home, he drove, but now it’s my turn.

Red Army envies it, but Aunt Jiang says he can start learning the year after next.”

”Red Army just loves cars.”

”Yes, he’s really good at driving tractors. He’s eager to go back to work today; in a few days, it’ll be time to plant. Second Uncle says he’s the main force this time.”

Li Yunqiao thought of his second son’s demeanor, and actually, it’s quite good, at least better than being idle.

Lu Family knew that the sister-in-law and the old mother would return today, so they had prepared early.

”Xue, Guodong, stay for dinner.”

Neither had any objections, at this time the Red Army and Hongling had also arrived home, so they didn’t need to go pick them up. Eating wherever is all the same.

”Guodong, you used to live here, how is it? Any thoughts coming back this time?”

Guodong was caught off guard. ”No real feelings, though I might chat with some educated youths later. Back then, we were afraid of causing trouble and rarely interacted with the villagers.”

Li Xue understood. Here is different from Li Family Village.

Lu Fengzhen returned home feeling truly uplifted. The child lay in the playroom, while she wandered around the house, feeling a warm familiarity everywhere.

Her eldest nephew’s child was already three years old. Holding her grandnephew’s hand, she felt she was right in coming back, still having affection for the place that nurtured her for over twenty years.

Li Yunqiao stayed by her side. Initially, he intended for Lu Fengzhen to return tomorrow, but his wife couldn’t wait even a day and insisted on returning today.

At her father-in-law’s house, it’s not as convenient as at home. Inevitably, a man’s thoughts drifted to what they desire most.

Looking at his voluptuous wife, Li Yunqiao quietly swallowed. His wife had really changed so much.

Though previously at twenty-eight, maybe never having been around men, she seemed ordinary, but not anymore; after having children, she had more allure.

Li Yunqiao quickly quelled his thoughts, not to embarrass himself here.

Dinner was quite plentiful; with the aunt returning, dumplings were a must-eat. Now there are plenty of vegetables, and the eldest of the Lu Family specially went to the village to get two pounds of meat.

The Lu Family had many people, so there were three tables, with their table being all dumplings; the rest of the Lu Family had two bowls of dumplings each, and filled up on cornbread if still hungry.

After Guodong and Jing Chu were full, they hurried to leave, worried the family might be anxious about them staying out too late.

”You’re not going to meet the educated youths?”

”It’s this late, better not; there’ll be another chance.”

In that cramped space, just the two of them, young man and woman, where love’s hormones were continuously fermenting.

They kissed for the first time; for two inexperienced people, it was a whole new experience.

Guodong stopped the car three times on the way, and when they reached Li Yungui’s house, Guodong stopped early and pulled Li Xue close.

Young people are always curious about the opposite sex.

”Guodong, stop.” Li Xue held Guodong’s hand.

Lv Guodong paused but didn’t let go of his wife.

After calming down for quite a while, he then got off the car and escorted Li Xue to the door, waiting for Changhe to come open the door; watching the siblings enter, he drove home.

Li Xue spoke to Changhe briefly before going to her room, lying alone on the kang bed recalling everything that just happened.

The same goes for Guodong, who, back home, savored the romantic encounter. It was so beautiful.

The next morning, he got up early and washed his clothes.

Li Yunqiao saw off his daughter and son-in-law, watching his grandson being taken by Wang Wugu. Zhibin willingly followed Wang Wugu, reassuring him. Then, under the Lu Family’s arrangements, he took a bath. Upon returning, there was only his son lying asleep on the kang.

He lay beside his son, finding it amusing that his youngest son looked so much like his wife.

The three of Hong Lin resemble him more, but this child is definitely more like his wife.

Lu Fengzhen quickly returned to her room after bathing; it was her former room, which she handed to her nieces once married, now with three of the older ones married and gone, leaving four younger ones living there.

This time her nieces moved in with their grandmother while she stayed.

Li Yunqiao, looking at his wife in candlelight, felt his whole body yearn, overwhelmed with desire.

Lu Fengzhen, naturally, could tell her husband’s thoughts, blushing even more.

Li Yunqiao hadn’t touched his wife in three months, so he was quite excited.

Lu Fengzhen also missed Li Yunqiao; like dry wood and kindling, after three times it was only then they embraced together.

”Wife, come back with me on Sunday; I can’t do without you.”

”I want to stay ten days to half a month before going back.”

Li Yunqiao’s hand didn’t stop, ”Wife, soon it’s autumn harvest; staying here will just make things difficult at home.”

Now, Lu Fengzhen fell silent. Truthfully, she didn’t want to leave Li Yunqiao, but was homesick too.

”After the autumn harvest, we can come back as a family again. Otherwise, the sisters-in-law have to work all day and still have to serve you.”

”No need, I’ll stay home to cook for them.”

”That’s no good, I can’t bear watching my wife toil, come back with me, let Guodong drive us back, or I’m afraid Guodong might not have time then.”

Lu Fengzhen was persuaded, ”Tomorrow I’ll tell my mom.”

Li Yunqiao smiled inside, unwilling for his wife to stay in the old home, leaving him lonely.

Next day, all labor in the family went to work, yet Yang Shulin and his wife came over.

Since it was too late yesterday, they didn’t come, but this morning they paid a brief visit, as autumn harvest was imminent.

They gave the child ten yuan, praised him a bit, but didn’t linger.

Wang Wugu walked over with Zhibin, Li Yunqiao took over from her. This kid was now curious about everything.

The house was left with only the four of them and two elderly.

”Mom, Aunt Wang, Yunqiao says to stay here three days, then leave with him.”

”I wanted to stay a few more days.” Wang Wugu was reluctant to return.

”But the two of us being here indeed causes disruption.”
