Starting Out As The God of Beasts

”Nice I was expecting you...” Roy rose from his seat, ”But I’ll be the only one going ” he stared at the representative with a soft grin displayed on his lips.

He was observing this Cheetah-kin from the distance.

”Why?” Representative Vane asked.

”Well you see these ladies wants to explore the great Yeren City so they tagged along, I’ll be the one in charge of the delegation” Roy explained.

”And who might you be?” Representative Vane asked, ”Jarden Rome.....that’s my name” Roy stepped forward.

”Jarden Rome?” Representative Vane’s brows furrowed, ”I haven’t heard of you” he said.

”It’s natural” Roy chuckled, ”I made sure every information regarding me was buried or erased, it would be a suprise if you knew who I was” Roy explained.

”I’m the Apostle of the God of Beasts” Roy introduced himself.

Representative Vane’s sleek, patterned ears twitched as he took in the absolute calm radiating from Roy.

A standard merchant would be sweating under the intense scrutiny of Yeren City’s watchful eyes; a typical cultist would be defensive.

Roy merely sipped his tea, his dual-colored golden-crimson eyes reflecting a terrifyingly unbothered light.

”An Apostle huh?” the representative mumbled.

”The High Governors do not like surprises, Jarden Rome,” Vane spoke softly, stepping aside and gesturing toward the open mahogany door. ”But they like curiosity even less. They are waiting.”

”Please follow me” he instructed.

Roy turned his attention toward the ladies, giving them the signal to leave the hotel and explore Yeren City.

Each were given their own commands.

Leaving the Oasis Grand Hotel, Representative Vane led Roy through a heavily restricted, underground subterranean transit tunnel carved directly out of the bedrock.

The gritty, chaotic noise of the grand marketplace faded into a dense, echoes-only silence, broken only by the synchronized clacking of the group’s boots.

As they ascended a grand, winding staircase made of pristine white limestone, the true heart of Yeren City’s political power revealed itself.

The Yeren Government House—known to locals as the Palace of the Twin Serpents—was a monumental fortress of architectural hubris.

Perched on the highest northern rim of the sandstone basin, it looked less like a building and more like an independent city-state carved out of a singular, monolithic mountain block.

The exterior walls were flanked by sweeping, three-story-tall colonnades wrapped in shimmering sheets of pure gold and beaten brass.

Massive waterfalls, magically channeled from deep subterranean aquifers, cascaded down the tiered terraces of the palace facade, plunging into deep jade basins.

The constant mist from the rushing water caught the harsh desert sun, crowning the entire government house in a permanent, shimmering rainbow.

If the grand marketplaces had tight security, the Government House was a literal death trap for the uninvited.

The administrative crown was protected by three distinct perimeters.

The Outer Ring often known as the Iron Wall was patrolled by a joint vanguard of elite Bear-kin and Bull-kin heavy shock troopers.

These massive beastmen stood a full eight feet tall, clad in heavy, dark-iron full-plate armor that had been enchanted with Earth-element arrays.

They held massive, two-handed executioner axes, standing like living statues every five paces along the high parapets.

The Inner Terraces was patrolled by the Crimson Guards, moving through the marble corridors were the High Governors’ personal retainers—an elite cell of purebred Panther-kin and Leopard-kin.

They wore lightweight, dark-crimson silk tunics over flexible dragon-scale leather.

They carried no visible heavy weapons, but the ambient air around them hummed with the high-frequency vibration of mid-tier Martial Master wind intent.

They moved with absolute silence, their yellow eyes locked onto Vane’s party.

High above the vaulted, mosaic-covered ceilings, complex arrays of glowing runic circles spun slowly.

These weren’t standard defense mechanisms; they were high-grade sensory-disruption and mana-nullification matrices.

The moment Roy stepped past the threshold, he felt the ambient mana in his surroundings grow incredibly heavy, designed to actively suppress the core of any rogue cultivator attempting an assassination.

But Roy was at ease.

None of them could threaten his life, if this was a Void Manuscript.....he would be tensed up.

Vane led him through a pair of towering, thirty-foot-tall doors forged from solid bronze and etched with the interlocking forms of the twin desert serpents.

The inner sanctum was a vast, circular amphitheater. The floor was made of highly polished, dark-green malachite that reflected the grand glass dome above like a still, deeply colored lake.

Instead of a standard throne, four massive, elevated stone daises sat at the far end of the room, arranged in a semi-circle.

Seated upon the daises were the Four High Governors of Yeren City, representing the four major factions that controlled the western trade networks

The layout of the Chamber of the Four Governors reflects a calculated hierarchy of power, designed to balance military might, absolute naval supremacy, aerial dominance, and terrestrial brute force.

The four massive, elevated stone daises are arranged in a sharp semi-circle, intentionally placing any visitor at the absolute focal point of their combined, suffocating gazes.

By the far-left wing sat Governor Vance of the United Shark-kin Trade Syndicate. A towering, terrifyingly sleek Shark-kin tycoon.

His skin is a rough, slate-grey cartilage hide, and his massive torso is draped in robes woven from rare, shimmering deep-sea silk.

His face is angular and remorseless, dominated by cold, pitch-black eyes that lack eyelids.

Whenever he speaks, columns of razor-sharp, serrated teeth gleam under the chamber lights.

Gills along his thick neck pulse rhythmically, filtering the dry desert air through a specialized water-attributed collar amulet.

Vance controls the flow of gold, underground black markets, and the vital subterranean water trade networks running beneath the Hudeii Desert.

He treats the entire western waste as a balance sheet.

For Vance, the sudden rise of Tempest City is an unauthorized market disruption, and he is highly focused on how Roy’s new regime impacts his monopoly on high-value trade imports.

A B-class Poison Shark Man.

From the center-left sat Governor Kaelen of the United Rhino-kin Guilds, his dais is the tallest and most brutalist in design, constructed from a singular, jagged block of unpolished red granite that juts aggressively toward the malachite floor.

A monolithic brute standing nearly nine feet tall, Kaelen is a Rhino-kin warlord of pure, compressed muscle.

His thick, slate-colored skin is heavily armored by natural, plate-like folds that are caked with old battle scars.

Two massive, ivory horns - etched with glowing earth-element runes—protrudes proudly from his snout.

He sits perfectly upright on a reinforced iron throne, wearing nothing but an open brass chestplate, radiating a dense, suffocating physical pressure that creates a visible heat-mirage in the air around him.

Kaelen represents the backbone of Yeren City’s infrastructure.

He controls the mining guilds, the smelting pools, and the massive labor forces that harvest rare materials like Vermite Ore.

He views the world through a lens of structural strength and raw durability.

To Kaelen, the news of Tempest City’s transformation isn’t a political curiosity—it is a challenge to his guilds’ dominance over the desert’s resources.

A B-class Dual Horned Rhino Man.

Governor Corin of the United Leopard-kin Army sat by the center-right, a sleek, hyper-toned Leopard-kin general whose posture remains as coiled and lethal as a loaded spring.

His patterned, gold-and-black spotted coat is immaculately groomed, contrasting sharply with a jagged, pale scar that runs from his left temple down to his jawline.

He wears dark-crimson imperial officer leather over lightweight dragon-scale mesh.

His amber, slitted pupils never stop tracking movement, and the ambient air around his seat hums with the high-frequency vibration of Initial-enlightened stage Martial General’s wind intent.

Corin commands the city’s land armies, rapid-response cavalry cells, and elite scout units.

He handles territorial expansion and the fortifying of Yeren’s borders against external threats like the Troll King’s Western Coalition.

He sits alongside Kaelen to coordinate the city’s immediate physical retaliation forces.

Governor Sorsha of the United Hawk-kin Enforcers chose the far-right wing.

Her dais is elevated on a slender, soaring pillar of white sandstone, placing her physically higher than the others to allow her to look down on the entire assembly.

She is a sharp, striking Hawk-kin matriarch wrapped in high-grade, wind-resistant leathers and a sweeping cloak made of midnight-blue feathers.

Her arms transition into majestic, predatory wings that rest neatly against her flanks, their tips lined with razor-sharp, steel-alloy feathers.

Her face is regal, defined by an aquiline nose and fierce, golden-ringed eyes capable of spotting a single grain of shifting sand from miles away.

A light, enchanted recurve bow rests against her stone perch.

Sorsha manages the High Watchmen, the aerial archers, and the city’s internal security network.

Her scouts rule the desert skies, mapping the movements of every independent tribe and abomination horde.

Because her domain is information, the complete and sudden blackout of the Troll King’s spies in the lower rings—meticulously executed by Alisa—has put her on maximum alert.

A B-class King Hawk-woman.

’They’re all Martial Generals’ Roy’s lips curled faintly, the moment he set his eyes on the Governors....

He understood why the Troll King hadn’t sent his armies to invade the East.

Yeren City is protected by four Martial Generals, although Initial-enlightened they may be.

A Martial General is still a Martial General.

”Greetings Governors” Roy paid his respects to the sitted Martial Generals, ”I am Ambassador Jarden Rome”

”I’ll be in charge of handling today’s delegation regarding the trade network the Governors of Yeren proposed”
