Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming！

Chapter 889: Chapter 889: I’m Sorry... I’m Getting Married Next Month

Dawn Sutherland tidied up the files on the table and asked Sam Brown, ”Help me reserve a private room at Lushwoods Inn.”

Sam Brown remembered that Dawn Sutherland’s schedule seemed to have no dinner appointments tonight. He teased with a mischievous smile, ”President Sutherland, are you asking Evalian Chapman out for dinner? President, although our company has just started and there’s a lot to do, you should spend more time with Miss Chapman. I will immediately book a room for you two.”

Sam Brown left the office.

Dawn Sutherland stood up and checked his phone; no messages, no calls. He hadn’t been home for three days, but there was no reaction from that person at home.

Dawn Sutherland smiled bitterly, ”Didn’t you foresee this, Dawn Sutherland? She doesn’t love you. Asking to marry you was just a plea for help when she had no way out.”

Thinking of the dinner appointment, Dawn Sutherland made a call he had been making at every meal time for the past three days, planning to order takeout for Daisy Grant.

The call got through, and Dawn Sutherland ordered a lavish takeout as usual. Just when he was about to hang up, the merchant hesitated and said, ”Hello, Mr. Sutherland, the lady in your house said not to send takeout anymore, she’s leaving today.”

Dawn Sutherland paused, his fingers holding the phone went a bit cold, unable to respond for a moment.

”Mr. Sutherland, do you still want the takeout?” the merchant asked.

Dawn Sutherland was pulled back to his thoughts, ”Yes, make it ready, I’ll come and pick it up later.”

”Alright.”

Dawn Sutherland hung up the phone, grabbed his suit jacket, and headed straight out.

Sam Brown saw Dawn Sutherland coming out and greeted him cheerfully, ”President Sutherland, the private room at Lushwoods Inn is booked.”

”Cancel.” Dawn Sutherland walked out without looking back.

What?

Did I hear that right? Cancel?!

Sam Brown watched Dawn Sutherland’s retreating figure and dared not complain, resigning himself to canceling the reservation.

As Dawn Sutherland reached the first floor, he happened to meet Evalian Chapman, who had been waiting there.

Not seeing Dawn Sutherland for a few days, Evalian Chapman was both happy and a bit nervous, tenderly speaking with the attitude of a lovestruck woman, ”Dawn Sutherland, let’s go to my place for a meal after we get the marriage certificate tomorrow? My parents said they want to meet you.”

Tomorrow was the day she and Dawn Sutherland had agreed to get their marriage certificate. She had been so excited these days that she couldn’t sleep, always thrilled.

Dawn Sutherland’s expression relaxed a bit, but he didn’t reply.

Evalian Chapman walked over and linked her arm around Dawn Sutherland’s, with a teasing tone, ”Shall we go eat? I heard there’s a good fish hotpot restaurant in the south of the city, shall we try it?”

Dawn Sutherland didn’t move, his mind replaying the words from the takeout vendor saying Daisy Grant was leaving. His thin lips pursed as he opened his mouth in a low voice, ”I’m sorry—Evalian—”

”You don’t have time today?” Evalian Chapman glanced at him and laughed, ”That’s okay, let’s just go to my place tomorrow. My mom’s great at making hotpot and fish!”

Looking at Evalian Chapman’s smiling face, Dawn Sutherland’s mind flashed to the suppressed sobs he heard outside the master bedroom door in the apartment, his fingers instinctively clenching into his palm. When he looked up at Evalian again, his gaze was deeper.

Dawn Sutherland’s indescribable look made Evalian Chapman feel uneasy, ”Dawn Sutherland, what’s wrong? Don’t look so guilty, or I’ll suspect you found a new girlfriend since I haven’t seen you for days and plan to abandon me!”

Evalian Chapman’s teasing words rang in Dawn Sutherland’s ears, his body and fingers were very stiff. After a long while, he looked at Evalian Chapman and said, ”Evalian, let’s cancel tomorrow’s plans.”

”What plans for tomorrow? We just agreed to get a mar...” Evalian Chapman’s words halted, her gaze trembling as she looked at Dawn Sutherland, ”Dawn Sutherland, what—do you mean?”

Dawn Sutherland pressed his lips, his voice low and indifferent, ”Evalian, I’m sorry... I’m getting married next month.”
