Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming！

Chapter 888: Chapter 888: Do You Know What You’re Saying?

Dawn Sutherland’s fingertips visibly trembled, his voice somewhat hoarse, ”What... did you say?”

Daisy Grant looked at Dawn Sutherland and repeated, ”Brother, can I ask you for a favor? Will you marry me? I know this puts you in a difficult position, but I truly have no other option.”

”Brother, I don’t want people pointing fingers at my parents at their age, saying how disgraceful their daughter is, how shameless she is.”

”Unmarried and pregnant, breaking off the engagement with the Sutherland Family, I can’t even fathom the damage it would do to the reputation of the Grant Family.” Daisy Grant’s fingers brushed her abdomen, her voice raspy, ”But brother, my reckless actions shouldn’t require my parents to pay the price.”

”Could the wedding next month take place as planned? Don’t let it become the most fatal blow to our Grant Family.” Daisy Grant tightly gripped the edge of her clothing, ”Brother, the wedding won’t be that extravagant, can you just help me make it a formality?”

”Because your surname is Sutherland, if we marry, the betrothal between the Grant and Sutherland Families wouldn’t be considered void... and this child... is something I wish to protect even if I lose everything...”

”Brother, could you help me, could you marry me?”

By the end, Daisy Grant’s tears drenched her entire face, her eyes reddened with helplessness as she looked at Dawn Sutherland.

”Brother, I won’t interfere with you and Evalian Chapman, I just want to minimize the damage to the Grant Family. So—brother, please help me, can we just have a sham marriage? Once the child is born and things settle down, I’ll autonomously sign a divorce agreement, okay?”

Dawn Sutherland looked at Daisy Grant for a long time, his thin lips slightly parting with a cool voice, ”Daisy Grant, do you realize what you’re saying?”

To have a sham marriage with him to protect the child of that irresponsible man? To sign a divorce agreement once the child is born?!

Her words inexplicably ignited a blazing fire within him, wanting to erupt.

Daisy Grant, frightened by Dawn Sutherland’s icy questioning, shivered slightly.

”Brother—I have no other way out. I can ignore the rumors, but my parents can’t, the Grant Family can’t... Brother, can you? Brother, just assume we’re in a fake marriage, once the child is born next year, I’ll sign the divorce agreement, and you can marry Evalian Chapman, okay? I know I’m selfish, I know this request is unreasonable, but brother, I can’t watch my dad get so angry he ends up in the hospital and do nothing.”

Dawn Sutherland said nothing, his gaze on Daisy Grant, becoming deeper still.

Daisy Grant looked at Dawn Sutherland’s stern face, unable to decipher his thoughts, and continued, ”Brother, you once said if I ever faced difficulties, you would help me with all your might; you said you would protect me for a lifetime. Brother, let me use that lifetime promise to ask you to help me this once, okay? Just consider this the last time I’ll ever ask anything from you in this lifetime, okay?”

Dawn Sutherland looked at Daisy Grant, his gaze growing even more profound, his thin lips slightly opening as if to speak, but in the end, he said nothing, instead turning away and leaving.

”Brother—” Daisy Grant called after him.

Dawn Sutherland did not turn back, leaving Daisy Grant with a firm, upright back.

——-

Since turning away at the hospital, Dawn Sutherland had not returned to the apartment for three days.

Daisy Grant waited alone in the apartment, waiting and waiting, but Dawn Sutherland did not return.

Yet every day, someone delivered lavish takeout to the apartment, and Daisy Grant held the takeout, her eyes moist, standing on the balcony softly murmuring, ”Brother, how long do you plan to avoid me—”

At C.Y Company, as the afternoon approached its end, Sam Brown, the assistant, walked in, ”President Sutherland, Miss Evalian Chapman is waiting for you outside.”
