Chapter 738: Chapter 738: This Time, I Want to Rely on You

Ariel Morris’s voice carried panic and despair, shaking her head in collapse, refusing to accept this sudden fatal blow.

Arlo Seys held her tightly, his thin lips brushing against Ariel Morris’s forehead, soothing her helpless and fearful emotions, his voice gentle: ”Don’t be afraid, I’m here, don’t be afraid, with me here, I am your eyes.”

”Arlo, I’ve gone blind. From now on, I’m just a blind person, a useless one. Would you still want a Ariel Morris like this?!” Ariel Morris wept, shaking her head in Arthur’s embrace.

”When I, Arlo, had nothing, would you still want me? Ariel, it’s your eyes that are damaged, not your mind! Don’t ask such silly questions!” Arlo yelled in a low voice.

On the brink of collapse, Ariel Morris suddenly calmed down. Her expression became much more composed, her voice hoarse: ”Arlo, let’s go home.”

Now that she couldn’t see, what was the point of wandering around? All she saw was darkness, endless darkness.

Arlo gave a slight nod, picked Ariel Morris up in his arms, and headed towards the car parked at the school gate.

The two drove back to Royal View City without a word.

”Young master, young mistress, you’re back. I’ve already made some soup. Would the young mistress like some now?” Aunt Forest said with a smile, unaware of the couple’s abnormality.

Ariel Morris didn’t answer, her face pale as Arlo Seys placed her on the sofa, sitting quietly.

Arlo Seys glanced at Ariel Morris, nodded and said flatly: ”Serve a bowl.”

”Alright, young master.”

Aunt Forest served the soup and handed it to Arlo Seys, ”Young master, be careful, it’s a bit hot. I’ll head out to buy some fruit first.”

”Alright.”

Aunt Forest walked away, and Arlo Seys sat beside Ariel Morris, his voice low yet very gentle: ”Eat a bit. Don’t overthink, your eyes will definitely be alright. Even if you truly can’t see for a lifetime, I will always be by your side, being your eyes.”

Ariel Morris managed to tug up a faint smile, ”Okay, I know. Let me drink it myself.”

After speaking, Ariel Morris reached out to take the bowl in Arlo Seys’s hands, but because she couldn’t see, her fingers brushed the bowl and spoon, and with a clang, everything fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.

Ariel Morris’s body trembled slightly.

She lifted her gaze slightly and suddenly discovered that Arlo Seys’s brows and eyes were becoming brighter and clearer in her vision bit by bit.

Arlo Seys glanced at the scattered bowl and spoon on the ground, pressed his lips tightly, ”If you don’t want to eat, I can hold you back to the room to rest.”

Arlo Seys was about to bend down to pick up Ariel Morris when she suddenly stood up by herself, smiling faintly: ”Arlo, my vision has restored again.”

”Really?” Arlo Seys glanced into Ariel Morris’s eyes, nodded with a deep voice, ”You see, there’s always a way out, so don’t always plan for the worst. Believe in silver linings after the dark clouds.”

Ariel Morris smiled faintly, ”Right.”

Both their expressions were faint, but the heaviness in their hearts hadn’t lessened one bit, because they both understood and knew this loss of vision was temporary, and the next time...

Especially Ariel Morris, who was acutely aware of her own body. In the past, temporary blindness would restore vision within two to three minutes, but this time she had been blind for almost two hours, meaning the toxins in her body were increasingly uncontrollable, complete blindness was approaching rapidly...

”Arlo, I won’t hide it from you, I know I will soon lose my sight, and I have two unfulfilled wishes. I originally wanted to tell my brother, but...” Ariel Morris hugged Arlo Seys’s body, smiling faintly: ”But you say I’m your wife, my matters are your matters, so this time I want to depend on you.”
