Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming！

Chapter 291: Chapter 291: Her Secret in Dublin

”Arlo... Arlo, did I make a mistake?” Ariel Morris lowered her eyes, her voice somewhat dejected.

How many days has it been since she started working as his secretary? And she’s already made a mistake; surely, Arlo is very disappointed in her!

Arlo Seys looked at her and suddenly chuckled softly, ”You did make a mistake, but it’s still forgivable.”

Ariel Morris pressed her lips together, ”I only know I didn’t complete the translation work, Arlo. Besides that, did I make any other mistakes? Did I translate wrong? I stayed in Dublin for so long, and my English didn’t improve at all.”

Arlo Seys wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing her soft hair, ”Ariel, when your English was not good, and you went abroad alone, did you suffer?”

When she went abroad, he often missed and worried about her. In a foreign country, English was the international language, and Ariel’s English was particularly poor. How could she live abroad?

After she left, he often had insomnia at night because he was worried about her, afraid she would suffer.

Ariel Morris paused for a moment, nodding, ”When I first arrived in Dublin, I rarely talked to people. You know my English grades were terrible; sometimes when others spoke a long string of sentences, I wouldn’t know what they were saying. So, when I first went to Dublin, I was very silent. Because I couldn’t understand English and couldn’t speak much, it felt quite embarrassing! At that time, I regretted not putting in more effort when you tutored me in English. I regret it so much now!”

Tenderness welled up in Arlo Seys’s eyes. In a foreign land, unable to communicate, the cheerful and lively girl he once cherished had become much quieter. Such a change evoked a deep sense of heartache and sorrow.

He longed for the joyful and proud Ariel he knew, a bit willful, with eyebrows raised in defiance. But this quiet Ariel bore too many concerns and burdens in her heart, making her weary and causing him pain.

Thus, he only wanted Ariel to return to how she used to be, with him protecting her, allowing her to be carefree and willful.

”Arlo, speaking of this, let me tell you a little secret, but promise me you won’t get mad, okay?”

Arlo Seys looked at her, eyes still tinged with tenderness, his voice somewhat deep, ”Go ahead.”

Ariel Morris hugged Arlo Seys’s waist, pressing her face against his chest, listening to his strong heartbeat, and softly said, ”In Dublin, because I was afraid to speak and talk to people, Brother Langdon got me a psychologist, and it took more than a year of therapy for me to slowly get better.”

Arlo Seys froze, ”You— you weren’t happy in Dublin, why didn’t you come back? Why didn’t you return to City C!”

Arlo Seys’s hand tightened slightly on Ariel Morris’s shoulder, as a wave of heartache washed over him.

Seeing a psychologist for over a year, she was such a lively person before. Why, living so unhappily in Dublin, didn’t she come back, didn’t she come back to him?

Ariel Morris held Arlo Seys tightly, speaking softly, ”You promised not to get mad, no getting mad! Arlo— how could I not want to come back? I constantly wanted to come back, but I... I broke up with you. How could I face you and come back? Arlo, it’s all in the past. If I don’t tell you, you won’t know, right? But I chose to tell you. Arlo, we’ve already started anew, so why not let go of the past, okay?”

She saw the psychologist not only because she was alone and lonely abroad but also because Brother Langdon feared she’d do something foolish, seeing her silent all day, and sought a psychologist to guide her.

She almost died in Dublin; she wouldn’t tell Arlo about this. The matter was in the past, and bringing it up would only make Arlo worry about her, but she didn’t want Arlo to worry.

As long as she knows Arlo loves her, that’s enough. She doesn’t want Arlo to worry; she can’t bear it.
