I, the Destined Villain, Start by Controlling the Saint

People’s hearts are different, lawlessAs the opening of the Eternal Gate drew near, discussions about the allocation of quotas for the Eternal Gate in the Eternal Immortal Domain grew more frequent.

”The Holy Institute recently invited various major forces to discuss the Eternal Gate quota allocation, and it seems there’s been a slight issue.”

”What slight issue? Isn’t it just the Holy Institute unilaterally tearing up the agreement and wanting to occupy more quotas?”

”Heh heh, mind your words, mind your words.”

”Speaking of which, it’s truly baffling. At that time, when the Eternal Immortal Domain’s border was plagued by demons, many major forces organized the Righteous Path Alliance, but they all just huddled back, afraid of depleting their strength.”

”I know about that. In the end, it was the proposal to allocate quotas based on military merits that allowed everyone to unite into a single force to resist the Demonic Blood Emperor.”

”It was originally agreed to allocate quotas based on military merits, but now, they’re directly talking about fair allocation, completely ignoring the military merit allocation agreement. I think it’s most likely that the agreement has been rendered void.”

”Those who understand, understand. The Holy Institute probably didn’t expect the one from Yaochi Immortal Palace to be so powerful.”

”Heh heh, that’s normal. How could Yaochi Immortal Palace become a major force without some capability? I just wonder what attitude Yaochi Immortal Palace will take regarding this agreement.”

”Most likely, they’ll compromise. After all, no matter how strong your Sect Master is, there’s no guarantee that the Disciples who go out to perform tasks won’t encounter any danger.”

”Are you saying someone will secretly trip them up?”

”Fellow Daoist, don’t speak nonsense. I didn’t say anything at all.”

Although that was said, those who understood, understood.

No matter how strong you are, your junior Disciples can’t possibly be as strong as you, right? There’s danger in performing tasks, so it’s normal to encounter danger, right?

It’s estimated that for the safety of their Disciples, Yaochi Immortal Palace will compromise and concede, reducing a portion of their quotas.

Of course, for most Cultivators, entering the Eternal Gate has nothing to do with them; they are merely spectators.

But for major forces, it is directly relevant.

Great Firmament Sword Sect.

An Elder from the Holy Institute visited the Great Firmament Sword Sect in the name of the Holy Institute, hoping to get the Great Firmament Sword Sect to stand on their side.

”Sect Master, the Holy Institute Elder said that if we allocate according to military merits, our Great Firmament Sword Sect can only have 1% of the quotas.”

”The Eternal Gate only allows 100,000 people to enter each time it opens, so 1% is 1,000 people.”

”In previous openings, our Great Firmament Sword Sect could always get 2% of the quotas. No matter how you look at it, we should support the Holy Institute and reject the decision to allocate quotas based on military merits.”

”Yes, the more Disciples who enter, the more benefits we can gain from the Eternal Gate. Every quota must be fought for.”

”I agree. Moreover, this decision was made by the Holy Institute. We are merely following the trend, and there is nothing wrong with it.”

The Elders shouted in unison, all feeling that the military merit allocation theory should be rejected.

After all, the more quotas they had, the better.

The Sect Master of the Great Firmament Sword Sect, a dignified and solemn middle-aged man, wielded a silver sharp sword in his hand, which cut through the air, emitting a series of whistles.

”Are you finished?” He gently wiped his treasured sword and said indifferently.

”Sect Master, what do you think?” An Elder asked curiously.

No matter how much they argued, it was not as effective as a single word from the Sect Master.

Putting the silver treasured sword back into its scabbard, the Sect Master of the Great Firmament Sword Sect said indifferently, ”Can you defeat the one from Yaochi Immortal Palace?”

Uh, does that even need to be asked?

A Primordial Great Luo powerhouse like the Demonic Blood Emperor had half his body cut off by a single sword, and the strongest person in the Great Firmament Sword Sect was only at the Late Stage of Golden Immortal.

To put it bluntly, the Great Firmament Sword Sect was simply no match for Yaochi Immortal Palace.

”We are no match,” the Elders said in unison.

The Sect Master of the Great Firmament Sword Sect said, ”Then isn’t that the end of it?”

”Women are hard to fathom. Losing their minds when they go crazy is common. It’s better to offend a villain than to provoke a woman, and the one from Yaochi Immortal Palace is so powerful. I can’t even imagine what kind of fate awaits us if we anger her.”

”Let it be whatever it should be. Besides, in so many previous openings of the Eternal Gate, when was it ever because there were more people that Opportunities were obtained?”

”One hundred thousand years ago, the Li family was in decline, and they only had 100 quotas to enter the Eternal Gate, yet they still obtained the Great Firmament Nine Revolutions Pill, allowing the Li family’s Old Ancestor to achieve the Great Firmament and rise again.”

”Sixty thousand years ago, the Jiang Immortal Dynasty’s imperial family’s Luck declined, and only 20 princes and 10 princesses entered the Eternal Gate, yet they still obtained the Dragon Vein, stabilizing and further enhancing the imperial family’s Luck.”

”What’s the use of having many people? If an Opportunity is yours, it’s yours. No one can steal it.”

”Let’s not get involved. Let Yaochi Immortal Palace and the Holy Institute fight it out. 1% of the quotas, 1,000 people, is already enough.”

Hearing him say this, the Elder felt that it made some sense.

”Then how do we respond to the Holy Institute?”

”Just say that our Great Firmament Sword Sect will follow all the Holy Institute’s wishes. Any allocation is fine, as long as the Holy Institute can reasonably divide it.”

A typical buck-passing move. Whether it’s reasonable or not is up to you.

I’ll listen to you.

Many forces, like the Great Firmament Sword Sect, did not step forward or contend for anything.

However, people’s hearts are different, and there are always those who want to take more than their share.

Li Huo Sect.

When the Elder from the Holy Institute arrived and conveyed the Holy Institute Head’s intentions, they showed joyful expressions.

”Sect Master, what a great Opportunity!”

”This time, if our Li Huo Sect were to allocate based on military merits, we would only get 1% of the quotas, but if we follow the Holy Institute’s proposed fair division, we would get 2% of the quotas.”

”For a total of 100,000 people, an increase of 1% means an increase of 1,000 people, which is not a small number at all.”

”Yes, Sect Master, haven’t you been in the Late Stage of Great Luo for a long time? In the Eternal Gate, there are often Cultivation Techniques that allow people to comprehend the Dao, profound Medicinal Pills, and various rare Divine Rhyme Immortal Platforms.”

”If you can obtain one of them, it will be of great benefit to your Breakthrough of your Realm Bottleneck.”

The Sect Master of Li Huo Sect, seated in the main seat, wore a crimson robe, his hair disheveled. Crimson like a blazing fire, his pair of red pupils seemed to burn with endless divine fire.

He said loudly, ”What you said makes sense. How can we not fight for it?”

”Moreover, if something goes wrong this time, the Holy Institute will be at the forefront, so we don’t have to worry about Yaochi Immortal Palace retaliating.”

”I have already received letters from several other Sect Masters. They, like my Li Huo Sect, intend to support the Holy Institute’s decision. After all, if quotas are allocated based on military merits, Yaochi Immortal Palace would have fifty thousand people. How can we even play then?”

”Furthermore, public anger is hard to violate. No matter how strong Yaochi Immortal Palace is, can she destroy me? Hahahahaha...”

The Elders listened and thought, that’s right.

Although their single Li Huo Sect could not be an opponent of Yaochi Immortal Palace, if they formed an Alliance and advanced together, Yaochi Immortal Palace would have to consider the cost of attacking them.

This wave is called ’the law does not punish the masses’.

It’s just a pity that they didn’t know that Yu Yue and Xin Xi, under Xiao Fan’s guidance, were lawless.

The law does not punish the masses? No, this is called ’teaming up to give away heads’.

As the time designated by the Holy Institute drew near, more and more people gathered within the Holy Institute.

All major forces gave Face to the Holy Institute and came to participate in the agenda of quota allocation.

”Patriarch Liu, long time no see. I recall our last meeting was the last time.”

”Heh heh heh, Sect Master Qingyou is so humorous. Listening to your words is truly like listening to words.”

”Isn’t this Emperor Jiang? What a pleasure to meet you, what a pleasure.”

”...”

Inside the Holy Institute, it was exceptionally lively.

Countless Divine Beasts flew, and various treasure carriages shuttled through, none of them simple.

To receive an invitation from the Holy Institute, one had to be a force with at least a Taiyi Golden Immortal presiding over it. Even so, over a hundred forces received invitations.

This shows the immense strength of the Eternal Immortal Domain.

The Elders of the Holy Institute all came out to welcome guests from all sides, and their etiquette was very thoughtful. If the purpose of this meeting wasn’t to tear up an agreement, one might even think they were a land of courtesy.

”The time is almost up. The Head has invited everyone. Fellow Daoists, please move to our Holy Institute’s Holy Hall to discuss the matters of this Eternal Gate.”

An Elder walked out and spoke to the leaders of the many forces who had arrived.

Upon hearing this, everyone felt it was about time and followed along.

However, someone casually mentioned,

”Has anyone seen the Sect Master of Yaochi Immortal Palace?”

”It seems not. Are they not coming?”

”No, look.” A powerful individual looked towards the horizon.

A team of extraordinary women laid out a long flower bridge, like an ocean of flowers, reflecting thousands of miles of divine red. They were like Fairies among flowers, stepping on rainbows from the distant sky, breathtakingly beautiful.

This team of women was orderly, and under their escort, a seven-colored cloud rainbow treasure carriage slowly rolled its wheels, yet it covered thousands of miles in a single step, gracefully gliding through the sky, heading towards the Holy Institute.

Everyone’s eyes narrowed, and they saw the banner of Yaochi Immortal Palace hanging within the divine rainbow.

Yaochi Immortal Palace, they’re here!
