Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1012: Chapter 1012: Over a Hundred Acres of Land

Shu Yu was amused by Madam Li’s expression. What did she just say? It made her seem as though she had suffered some monumental grievance.

The old lady found Madam Li annoying and directly said to Lu Dasong, “Weren’t you going to buy something? It’s getting late, hurry up and go. Take your wife with you and let her give you a hand.”

Lu Dasong saw that Madam Li’s expression seemed off, and quickly pulled her along and left.

Madam Li had a lot of questions she wanted to ask, but she didn’t dare ask Shu Yu, nor did she dare ask the old lady. Lu Dasong taking her away was just the right opportunity.

After they’d walked a while, she grabbed Lu Dasong by the arm, gritted her teeth, and glared at him. “Why did you hide the matter of Daniu going to work the fields from me? He’s been bullied, and you didn’t even tell me. Are you trying to drive me mad?”

Lu Dasong frowned. “What do you mean ‘bullied’? Daniu willingly chose to go to the manor.”

“He willingly chose? That sounds nice and all, but what other choice does he have? Just now your darling niece made it clear there’s no position for Daniu at the shop anymore.”

Lu Dasong realized Madam Li had become increasingly stubborn and nitpicky recently. She tended to dwell on trivial matters and magnify them. In the past, she still cared a bit about maintaining face, but now she insisted on competing over everything, no matter how small.

“Are you going to say something or not?”

Lu Dasong explained, “You’re misunderstanding. Yu has always taken care of Daniu. I heard that the manor outside of town is huge. Previously, Daniu said Yu plans to buy over a hundred mu of land to cultivate. When the time comes, Daniu will act as the village chief and help manage it. This isn’t like farming in Shangshi Village — he’d basically be half a landlord.”

Madam Li’s eyes widened. “O… Over a hundred mu of land??”

“Yes.”

Madam Li fell silent, stupefied. How does Yu have so much money? Buying over a hundred mu of land just like that, how much would that cost?

Lu Dasong, on the other hand, felt immensely proud. He wasn’t like his second brother, who was skilled, nor like his third brother, who was clever and shrewd. He simply managed the little bit of land they had, treating it as a treasure, always hoping to save up money to buy a few more mu someday. That thought alone was enough to make him smile in his sleep.

Now, his son seemed to have fulfilled his dream. Although it wasn’t him who bought the land, he’d be the one managing it. That, in itself, was an achievement.

Thinking of this, Lu Dasong grew more and more pleased. He pulled Madam Li along, urging her, “Alright, let’s go buy what we need first. Later, when the ancestral tomb is repaired, we’ll go visit the manor and see Daniu.”

Most importantly, they’d go see that hundred mu of land.

Madam Li was still a bit dazed, but hearing this, her spirits lifted. Yes, later she would get Yu to tell her the location of the manor so she could check it out first.

If it wasn’t good, then she’d figure out a way to get him back to the county town.

Oh, and she’d pick up a few bags of medicine to send to the manor later.

Madam Li had it all planned out, but she didn’t know that those few bags of medicine sitting on the countertop had been thrown away by the old lady.

“It’s only been half a year since the wedding, and she’s already pressuring her daughter-in-law to take medicine. Back when Cuihua married, it took a whole year before she conceived, and I didn’t rush her like this. But not her — even when the daughter-in-law isn’t around, she’s still finding ways to mess with her. Who knows where she bought those strange medicines from some fraudulent quack doctor? Without even examining the sick, they prescribe something, and she dares give it to someone to consume.”

Shu Yu nodded on the side, and the old lady seized the chance to educate Lanhua and Erniu, who were still in the shop. “You two, remember this: when you get married in the future, if your mother ever makes you take medicine randomly, don’t eat it. She’s not a doctor; she doesn’t know anything.”
