She is the Side Character! — Watch Her Change her fate!

Jiang Fang likes Commissioner.

He usually loiters in front of Commissioner when he’s free. He’s quite aloof, mostly because of his decent family background; he’s not the kind to easily cater to others.

Besides, he’s good friends with the top student in the grade, Wen Zhixi, and they’re also deskmates.

Now, Wen Zhixi has a good relationship with Wei Yue and takes good care of her. To what extent, it’s unclear. However, according to Commissioner’s later memories, Wen Zhixi and Wei Yue have always had a good relationship; whether they ended up together or not is uncertain.

No matter what happens to Commissioner, they are not on the same path as these people, so it’s naturally impossible for her to have anything with Jiang Fang.

Besides, later Jiang Fang believed that Commissioner was degrading herself, and felt that he was blind before. He quickly abandoned those fleeting feelings from his school days and returned to his life.

Because of his friend Wen Zhixi, Jiang Fang often finds himself in a dilemma.

On one hand, there’s the girl he likes, and on the other, the girl his best friend likes. He doesn’t know what to do.

After observation, Jiang Fang realizes that it’s actually Ran Chen who is unwilling to get along with Wei Yue, and he has always wanted to help resolve this conflict to everyone’s satisfaction.

”Do you need something, Jiang Fang?” Ah Chen asked, not answering the previous question.

What’s the grudge with Wei Yue?

Indeed there is some, a grudge of taking away her father, which barely counts.

As for the grievances among them, it’s not something that can be explained in one or two sentences, and there’s no need to tell Jiang Fang, an outsider.

Jiang Fang just has a bit of a crush on Commissioner. They’re not compatible, and even if there was an opportunity, being with someone like him would be suffocating.

To outsiders, Ran Zhengfeng treats the daughter entrusted to him by a good brother kindly, which feels righteous and commendable, proving he’s truly trustworthy.

But from the perspective of Commissioner and her mother, it’s a disaster.

People outside only see the lonely and helpless Wei Yue and the noble and kind Ran Zhengfeng. They can’t see how much bitterness this mother and daughter have swallowed. If they were any sharper, they’d be perceived as overbearing and unruly.

Outsiders persuade them—if they listen, it would mean continuing to back down and swallowing bitter fruits.

They can only resist, becoming increasingly sharp and seen as unreasonable.

Jiang Fang was stunned by Ah Chen’s cold look, and the words he was about to say suddenly slipped his mind, his head going completely blank.

After a while, he snapped back to reality and awkwardly said, ”I think Wei Yue is ill, and there’s no need to fuss over past matters, right? After all, we’re classmates.”

”How did I wrong her?” Ah Chen tilted her head and asked, ”Did I curse or hit her? I just don’t want to be friends with her or get too involved with her. Does that make me a villain?”

”Jiang Fang, who do you think you are, meddling in my affairs?” Ah Chen rudely retorted.

Jiang Fang obviously hadn’t expected to be scolded, his face turning pale and then red, as he stared at Ah Chen without a word, his smile gone.

”Ran Chen, how can you be like this?”

Ah Chen chuckled lightly, feeling rather pleased: ”Just because I don’t meet your expectations, I’m suddenly a bad person? Is this planet a property of your family? Does everyone’s behavior and destiny have to be dictated by you? Does your family live by the sea?”

A classmate in the room couldn’t help but quip, meddler.

Then hurriedly covered his mouth, fortunately having only said it in his head.

”I just feel there’s no need to make it ugly, but if Ran Chen doesn’t appreciate it, then never mind.” Jiang Fang, being pampered at home, had never been scolded like this before.

Liking Ran Chen was one thing, but realizing she was this unreasonable made him feel his earnest feelings were for nothing.

Jiang Fang turned back to his seat, still a bit angry, and slammed the desk hard.

Chen Yijia whispered in Ah Chen’s ear, ”What a cheek.”

She glanced at Wen Zhixi sitting next to Jiang Fang and suddenly thought, birds of a feather flock together. Could Wen Zhixi be like this too?

Oh well, it’s none of her business anyway, Wen Zhixi doesn’t like her, they have no chance.

”I just don’t understand, how can Ran Chen be like this,” Jiang Fang couldn’t help but complain to his friend and deskmate Wen Zhixi, ”Wei Yue didn’t do anything wrong, and Ran Chen is always opposing her. Why can’t they just get along?”

Wen Zhixi put down the book in his hand, glanced at him, and asked, ”Why do you insist they get along?”

Originally, he didn’t want to get involved in these matters, but since Jiang Fang was his friend, he decided to intervene a little.

”You kid...” Jiang Fang said speechlessly, giving Wen Zhixi’s shoulder a light punch and pulling him closer, ”Don’t pretend you don’t know.”

Wen Zhixi frowned, genuinely clueless.

He glanced sideways at Ran Chen, not very familiar with anyone in the class. If Jiang Fang hadn’t often mentioned Ran Chen, he probably wouldn’t have had much of an impression.

Jiang Fang realized he really didn’t understand and was speechless: ”I was thinking of you, trying to resolve this issue.”

Wen Zhixi furrowed his brows even tighter, even more confused.

”You’re different towards Wei Yue, right? You must like her. I like Ran Chen, but if we were to get together and she always disliked Wei Yue, it wouldn’t be good.”

In Jiang Fang’s heart, of course, his friend is more important.

Even though he was quite upset before, Jiang Fang still hadn’t given up. After liking her for so long, it’s not easy to just let go.

Wen Zhixi finally understood, but was he really different towards Wei Yue?

”I don’t have those feelings for Wei Yue.”

”Also, there’s no need to force others into something, and Ran Chen hasn’t done anything excessive.” Wen Zhixi thought about it and indeed, she hadn’t.

Then he looked Jiang Fang over several times: ”Acting like this, she’ll never like you.”

He had never been in a relationship, nor interested in one, but he understood basic human nature.

As for Wei Yue, he really didn’t have such feelings, at least not now. Who knows where Jiang Fang got the idea he liked her.

Jiang Fang widened his eyes: ”If you don’t care about Wei Yue, how come you always take care of her? You even donated thirty thousand this time.”

Wen Zhixi recalled and said: ”It was just a coincidence. She has good grades, and there’s nothing wrong with helping a classmate. Donating thirty thousand is nothing to me anyway.”

If it were another classmate he was slightly familiar with, his help wouldn’t have been any less.

If he had real feelings for Wei Yue, he would have taken her to a better hospital, hired someone to take care of her, and spent money to look for a match.

”Jiang Fang, you might be misunderstanding something.”

Wen Zhixi picked up his book and continued to read: ”Who you like is your business, don’t make it about me. You acting like this...” He shook his head, ”isn’t likable.”

”Besides, whether to donate or not is a personal choice; forcing others makes you dislikeable.”

He deserved to be scolded.

He donated thirty thousand, but if other classmates didn’t want to donate, he wouldn’t mind; it’s not related to him.

Ah Chen’s ears picked up their conversation clearly.

Wen Zhixi probably wasn’t lying. He might have been a bit caring towards Wei Yue, but he wasn’t interested.

It turns out Jiang Fang was just being self-indulgent. No matter what, he’s not suitable for Commissioner. Even if there was a brief moment, the future would be fraught with difficulty.

In the office, Ran Zhengfeng had a red mark on his face from being slapped by Zhuo Qiaoqing earlier when she came in, asking about Ah Chen after class.

He rubbed his face, feeling that Zhuo Qiaoqing was being unreasonable.

Ah Chen almost laughed out loud when she encountered him.

Even funnier, the next day, she saw Duan Mu and Jiang Fang enter the class with bruised faces.

Chen Yijia hissed softly, ”What happened to them?”

Ah Chen shook her head with a smile; that’s a tough guess.

Teenage boys having fights is actually quite normal, isn’t it?

[Really?] 997 suddenly spoke up.

Ah Chen: ...
