Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]

Chapter 88: Chapter 88 - Happy breakfast

Yunfeng happily took a big bite of the omelet, but as soon as the taste hit his tongue, he froze. It was like swallowing a spoonful of pure salt.

His smile faltered, but since his lover made it, he forced a grin, bit down hard, and somehow managed to swallow it whole.

”Whoa, slow down there! Chew your food,” Muchen said with a chuckle, reaching over to gently wipe the corner of Yunfeng’s mouth with a tissue. ”How is it?”

”Very... good,” Yunfeng mumbled through his stuffed cheeks, his eyes watering a bit from the overwhelming saltiness.

Muchen blushed, his cheeks turning a soft shade of pink, and he smiled dazzlingly. ”Oh... I’ve never tried cooking before. I wanted to make something just for you.” He carefully cut into his own omelet, but before the fork could reach his lips, Yunfeng lunged across the table and swiped the plate.

Mouth agape, he watched as Yunfeng shoved the second omelet down without hesitation.

”It’s too tasty! I can’t help myself!” Yunfeng said with a strained smile, nearly gagging from the salty overload but keeping his composure like a champion.

He washed the taste down with a full glass of orange juice, trying not to wince. ”Since I ate yours... I’ll make you one!”

”Oh, you don’t have to—” Muchen began, but Yunfeng was already dashing into the kitchen like his life depended on it.

Yunfeng had seen his mom cook at her restaurant countless times, so he grabbed whatever he could find from the shopping bag—carrots, capsicum, onions—and tossed them into the pan. The sizzling sound was a good sign, right? He cracked the eggs and in no time had whipped up an omelet that actually looked... decent.

Muchen stood in the doorway, watching with a bright smile on his face, his heart swelling with warmth.

”Here it is, sire! Your tasty morning breakfast,” Yunfeng proudly declared as he set the omelet down with a flourish. He’d added cut apples and a glass of orange juice on the side. ”I can’t guarantee the taste,” he said with a wink and a proud grin, even though he knew it was pretty good this time. He had made sure of it.

Muchen smiled softly, his eyes crinkling, and picked up his fork to take a small, careful bite of the omelet. ”Hmm! It’s delicious!”

Yunfeng grinned wide, sliding into the chair opposite him, feeling a little surge of victory.

He propped his chin in his hand and, without thinking, started watching him eat.

Each delicate bite drew him in more, like some kind of slow-motion movie.

The way Muchen’s lips parted, pink and soft, then gently closed around the fork—it was almost hypnotic.

Yunfeng felt his face grow hot as he watched.

His thoughts drifted, his eyes lingering on Muchen’s mouth, tracing the way his lips moved. Before he could stop himself, his mind took a sudden nosedive.

’What if...’ Yunfeng swallowed hard. ’What if those lips were... on me?’

He squeezed his eyes shut for a second, trying to shake off the image.

But it was too late—his imagination had run wild.

The thought of Muchen’s soft lips wrapped around him sent a shiver down his spine, and he shifted in his chair, hoping Muchen wouldn’t notice his sudden discomfort.

’No, no, bad thoughts, bad!’ Yunfeng scolded himself silently.

But as Muchen’s tongue slipped out just slightly to catch a bit of juice from the corner of his mouth, his mind betrayed him again.

He imagined that tongue working its way down, soft and teasing, and he had to quickly take another gulp of water to stop himself from staring.

’Oh god, he’s too... damn... hot,’ Yunfeng thought, biting his lip. His eyes flickered back to Muchen’s mouth, and despite his best efforts, he couldn’t help but imagine what it’d feel like if—

Muchen, completely oblivious to Yunfeng’s inner turmoil, kept eating happily, unaware of the heat rising in the room—or at least, in Yunfeng’s head.

He paused for a moment to sip his juice, looking so innocent, so unbothered, that it only made Yunfeng’s frustration worse.

”I’ll drive you back home,” Muchen said with a warm smile, snapping Yunfeng out of his very vivid daydream.

Yunfeng froze, his voice catching in his throat for a second. ”Oh—okay.”

Muchen raised an eyebrow, noticing his hesitation. ”You don’t want me to?”

”No, no, I do!” Yunfeng bit his lips. ’but I don’t want him to get hit by a bunch of chives....’
