Chapter 934: Chapter 334: Dawn and Thunder Bomb (Two-in-One Chapter)_4

”Of course, Lord Rein, but we would likely need to get in touch with the Cologne Cathedral in the Imperial City.”

”Because the library there holds the most comprehensive collection of books within the society, but it would take some time to access,” Brandel pondered for a moment, then said.

...

Meanwhile.

About ten kilometers off the Meist Coastline, on the sea, dozens of four-masted sailing ships, led by two five-masted ships, were engaged in fierce combat with over a dozen large sea beasts.

These ships belonged to the first and third squadrons of the Dragan Empire’s South Sea Fleet.

At this moment, the sea beasts roared, waves surged, and cannons thundered.

From time to time, various streams of witchcraft would flare up from each sailing battleship, attacking the massive sea beasts.

Suddenly, a lookout on one of the five-masted ships changed his expression and quickly conveyed a flag signal down to the deck crew.

Soon, Admiral Campbell, the commander of the South Sea Fleet, received the message. He swiftly held a brass spyglass and looked up from the captain’s cabin to the sky.

There, in the distance, a massive, mountain-sized elliptical airship was approaching the area where they were currently battling the Sea Clan.

”Admiral, that is....” A staff officer beside him widened his eyes, staring at the giant airship in the distance.

Even from such a distance, its sheer size was apparent, indicating just how colossal the airship was.

As far as he knew, the Empire had not yet produced airships of such a huge model.

”It must be the envoy from the Federation.” Admiral Campbell put down the spyglass and said in a deep voice.

He had received the message earlier but didn’t expect that the Federation envoy would enter the Empire’s territory via the sea near Meist.

Normally, if they were heading straight to the Imperial City Tamriel, they wouldn’t pass by Meist.

”They’re deliberately detouring here.”

Admiral Campbell had a vague guess about their intention.

...

Meanwhile, on the bridge of the gigantic airship in mid-air, more than ten officers in Federation military uniforms were gathered around a middle-aged noblewoman dressed in hunting attire, observing the battle below and making occasional comments.

”Lady Trena, the Dragan Empire’s naval equipment is at least twenty years behind ours.”

”They’re still relying solely on sail battleships, while our ironclad steamers have already been deployed in combat,” said a senior colonel officer, shaking his head.

Although they had received related information from spies before, seeing it firsthand was the best evidence.

”The firepower of their cannons is inadequate; most are still old-fashioned bronze cannons.”

”Compared to our steel cannons, theirs fall short in power by a considerable margin, with a range inferior by a third,” noted a Federation major general, putting down his telescope with a touch of disdain.

”The ships are equipped with quite a few Third Level Wizard Apprentices. Hmm, they also have Official Wizards, which is somewhat commendable.”

”Yes, but I’m afraid that’s the only highlight. If the Imperial Navy were to engage in war with us, the Federation, I believe that complete annihilation would be the only outcome,” commented another Federation major general.

”Ladies and gentlemen, since we encountered them, we should naturally show some goodwill to the Dragan Empire. What do you think, how can we deal with these sea beasts?” asked the noblewoman named Trena.

”Simple, use the Thunder Bomb!” suggested the Federation major general who had just spoken.

”Major General Condor is right, the Thunder Bomb has enough power to deal with these sea beasts. A single one would basically cause severe damage,” another affirmed.

”Alright, let’s proceed as Major General Condor suggested,” Trena nodded and said.

”Have the Dawn move above the sea beasts, and prepare to launch the Thunder Bomb!” Quickly, the order was passed down the ranks.

....

Minutes later.

Two massive, man-sized cylindrical bombs swiftly dropped from beneath the gigantic airship toward the sea beasts below.

”Boom!”

An intense white light flashed, followed by a thunderous explosion!

A giant sea beast, resembling a crab over twenty meters long, was instantly blasted into two pieces, perishing on the spot.

The other bomb didn’t hit directly, exploding beside a thirty-meter-long octopus-like sea beast, severing over a dozen thick suctioned tentacles.

At this time, two rows of a total of twelve black dots were rapidly approaching the Federation’s giant airship.

From a distance, they could be vaguely seen to appear as if they were the Empire’s Griffin Knights.
