Extraordinary in Reality Through Magic Games

197: Chapter 195 Mastering Power is the Key to Becoming a Qualified MagicianThe meteor was nowhere to be seen, and Neo noticed the frequency of his two old friends’ leg-shaking gradually increasing.

Human patience is limited, after all.

Although they were patient enough, watching the sun rise from the horizon and climb high into the sky, they—who valued their time dearly—could endure it no longer.

”Neo, if the surprise you mentioned is just the warm sunshine by the seaside, I think I must be going back.”

”Heh.”

Full of confidence, Neo didn’t pay any mind to their tone, which was suppressed with dissatisfaction.

Considering that if he dragged it on, the two might really get up and leave, Neo slowly recounted his encounter with Gao yesterday.

After listening, their previous displeasure vanished without a trace.

If someone else had said this, given that Hogwarts in Ying Country had already started the school term, they would probably believe it, but they would still have some doubts.

But the one saying it was Neo.

The three had known each other for decades, and they likely understood each other even better than they understood themselves.

They didn’t think for a second that their old friend would be deceived by some cheap tricks.

Things like seeking medical advice indiscriminately out of desperation wouldn’t happen to them either.

”Neo.” The old man on the left said in a low voice, ”That Mr. Gao... will we bring the wrath of Hogwarts upon ourselves?

You saw the aerial photo of the giant crater with your own eyes; if that rock were to fall on our heads, you know the consequences.”

”Mr. Gao isn’t afraid, so why should we be?”

The elderly Neo had been blowing in the sea breeze for two hours and was feeling a bit tired, but he forced himself to stay alert and tried his best to straighten his back:

”The young Queen... I never thought that, decades later, I would be able to admire her stunning beauty once again.”

This sentence seemed unrelated to their topic, but the two old men could easily understand what information Neo was truly trying to reveal.

Their gaze shifted from the sea to Neo almost instantly.

”Neo, you should know what things cannot be joked about.”

”I don’t like to joke, you know me.”

As for the fact that Mr. Gao had a youth-restoring potion in his possession, Neo had no intention of hiding it from the two.

Sincerity is the foundation of efficient cooperation.

America is vast—so vast that even Neo, with his overwhelming power to clear out this public beach with a single command, could not cover the sky with one hand.

He felt that compared to joining forces with a family he was unfamiliar with, his two old acquaintances were the best choice.

The two old men’s breathing became heavy.

Even their children, who were resting a short distance away, could hear it clearly.

They misunderstood that their fathers’ old ailments had flared up again and stood up to walk over, but were stopped by the old men waving their hands.

”No wonder you’d rather bear the risk of facing Hogwarts head-on to be with Mr. Gao... what’s going on?”

Before he finished speaking, the old man felt the temperature around him suddenly rise a notch.

Because of the sun umbrella, he didn’t find the source immediately and instinctively wanted to stand up and walk out from under the umbrella to look.

”It’s here! It’s here! Watch closely, magic!”

Neo, having been mentally prepared, was the first to react to what was happening.

It was unimaginable that at over ninety years old, he actually jumped up from the sofa like a young man, walked briskly out of the shade of the umbrella with his cane, faced the dazzling sunlight, widened his eyes desperately, and looked up at the sky.

It is common astronomical knowledge that the solar system has only one star.

Therefore, no matter where one is on the Blue Planet, one can only see one ”ball of light” when looking up during the day.

But at this moment, the three old men standing side by side saw, against all logic, a second, slightly smaller ”ball of light.”

It grew larger and larger in their field of vision, and soon it was the same size as the other ”ball of light.”

After a second of stunned silence, they realized it wasn’t growing larger, but was rapidly approaching them from the sky.

”We are going to be flattened into meat paste.”

Neo’s laughter was as unrestrained as a gambler who had won money: ”We won’t! We are about to regain our youth!”

The ”ball of light” was still falling rapidly, and its volume was already larger than the sun.

With the three men’s eyes fixed on it, it crashed straight into the distant sea, and then—”Bang”!

”A beautiful meteor; it would have been even better if it were at night.”

A calm voice, tinged with a hint of a smile, sounded from behind them, and the three turned around instinctively.

It was a young man with unremarkable features.

He stood under the sun, about 1.8 meters tall. His physique was neither burly nor could it be called weak. In the middle of winter in Boston, he was wearing a white shirt and black trousers.

”Mr. Gao!” He didn’t look the same as when they met yesterday, but Neo wasn’t surprised.

Mages can change their facial features, what’s the big deal about that?

Leaning on his cane, he was actually able to jog over: ”I have never had the fortune of seeing such a wondrously beautiful meteor!”

Is he Gao?

Although the young man’s eerie appearance was enough for them to confirm his identity, the two still muttered to themselves in their hearts.

”Mr. Gao.” Neo turned his head, pointing at the giant wave crashing onto the beach, which looked like a sea-blue curtain: ”We must leave immediately, otherwise...”

”Little guy.” Gao smiled again, ”One who cannot control their power cannot be called a qualified mage.”

Taking a few steps forward and standing in front of the three, Gao made a grasping motion in the air with his right hand, and a teaching rod staff abruptly appeared in his hand.

He raised the staff high, aiming it at the roaring waves: ”Za, Warudo!”

After a spell they didn’t understand, the tip of the staff lit up.

There was wind.

It was normal to have wind at the seaside, but this gust of wind had started too suddenly, and the wind speed was abnormally violent.

Neo could barely stand, instinctively taking two steps to the right, wanting to steady himself by pressing on his old friend’s shoulder.

Actually, Gao was closer, and he could reach him with just a stretch, but he didn’t dare, so he had to take a few extra steps.

However, it was a pity that his old friend wasn’t in any better condition, swaying unsteadily in the gale.

Just as they were wondering if they would die at the hands of the wind before the giant wave hit, an invisible force suddenly enveloped their bodies.

It couldn’t be seen or touched, but they definitely couldn’t feel the wind anymore.

The sun umbrella that had been blown away proved that the wind was still raging.

”Neo...” the old man who had steadied himself murmured, as if to him, or perhaps to himself, ”The waves... have been smoothed out.”

It was just as he described.

The waves that had already rushed to the beach could not advance any further.

Then, violating the laws of physics, it calmed down in the blink of an eye.

There was no slow process of being pulled back into the sea by gravity; it was as if it had been roughly and rapidly pressed down by an invisible palm.

So much so that everyone on the beach, except for Gao, was confused about whether they had traveled a few minutes into the future, which was why they hadn’t seen how the giant wave had fallen back into the sea.

”Little guys.” When Gao turned around, the teaching rod staff in his hand was already gone, ”Compared to my headmaster, it’s passable, right.”

”Mr. Gao.” Neo couldn’t hide his excitement, ”I can’t wait; I hope to complete the task you entrusted to me immediately!”
