Extraordinary in Reality Through Magic Games

192: Chapter 190 The Possibilities of Combining Modern Weapons and MagicAfter Zhang Mu finished giving instructions to the two, he immediately set off for the village designated for the Resistance Army to settle in.

He needed to find Mr. Mi He to ask if there was a special period when an army could pass through the Silent Forest.

Before even arriving, he actually already had an expectation in his heart; the answer would definitely be affirmative, and asking was just to confirm it.

Even if the answer was negative, it could only mean that Mihe didn’t know.

Making this judgment was entirely due to Joey’s particular concern for the construction site.

Joey was not an idiot; on the contrary, he was quite intelligent.

If the Lagu Kingdom’s army couldn’t cross the Silent Forest, would he be insane enough to offend the City Lord just to pull his Soldiers back to the city?

Zhang Mu was not like those characters in TV dramas.

Holding onto the confidence that ”he absolutely cannot do it,” ignoring abnormal situations.

Only to have the enemy strike from the most unexpected place, deliver a fatal blow, and then exclaim with astonishment, ”Impossible!”

With the premise that ”the enemy army will pass through the Silent Forest,” Zhang Mu pondered countermeasures along the way.

As Solon said, emergency recruitment of Soldiers could not form an effective combat force, especially since Gur City lacked high-level Professionals.

Zhang Mu could only look towards the Blue Star side for solutions.

There was no doubt that modern firearms had powerful lethality.

The problem was that weapons had a threshold for use.

Firearms required ammunition to train for precise marksmanship, and people from the Saul Continent who had never seen firearms would even need to first adapt to the deafening gunfire.

For various calibers of howitzers, just calculating the projectile trajectory would take an unknown amount of time to learn.

As for rocket launchers... even Zhang Mu would have to learn them specifically.

Assuming these problems could all be solved in a very short time.

There was another most troublesome point: modern weapons were difficult to cause effective damage to top-tier Professionals.

Regarding the ”Reflective Shield” that Potter had demonstrated, Zhang Mu had no idea how powerful the firepower needed to be to break through its defensive limit.

Frowning and pondering for a while, Zhang Mu suddenly remembered an anime he had seen where magic and technology coexisted.

Adding some magical elements to modern weapons would significantly increase their ability to break through magic shields.

Like magic guns or magic armor-piercing bullets; the main focus was on magical modification.

But it was easier said than done.

”I need a talent who likes to study the principles of magic.

I will personally teach him the principles of modern weapons and let him try to combine them. Hmm... I need to consider confidentiality...

I’ll carve out an independent space in the ’World’ for him.”

Muttering to himself, Zhang Mu quickened his pace, and an hour later, he arrived at a village located at the foot of the mountain.

Walking inside, because he had his Transformation Technique active, the Resistance Army who were familiar with him all curiously sized him up.

Not paying it any mind, Zhang Mu walked quickly to a stone house with a courtyard at the very back of the village.

”Mr. Mi He.” Pushing open the wooden door, Zhang Mu looked left and right.

”You are... Oh, Zhang Mu?” Mihe, who had come out of the house, was stunned for a moment, and after realizing who it was, asked tentatively.

”It’s me.” Dismissing the Transformation Technique, he walked toward the door and asked, ”Is there a time period when an army can safely pass through the Silent Forest?”

”How did you know?”

Mihe’s answer was unexpected, and Zhang Mu was somewhat surprised: ”When did you discover that?”

”A long time ago.” He had a reminiscent expression, ”About ten years ago, I accidentally noticed that every summer, the mid-to-high-level magical beasts in the Silent Forest would go to the far south.

In this way, only low-level magical beasts remain in the Core area and the north.

With several Saint Magicians and Saint Knights clearing the way, it would allow an army to pass through without casualties.”

”Summer, huh...” Zhang Mu muttered to himself, ”It’s winter now, so there’s about half a year left.”

”What happened?” Mihe saw his grave expression and asked curiously.

Regaining his composure, Zhang Mu recounted the matter and said, ”The Soldiers in Gur City have long abandoned their training and would crumble at the slightest touch.

You had such important information, why didn’t you... Oh, you are the Resistance Army.”

Mihe smiled: ”That’s right, I am the Resistance Army; things that help the Kingdom are not my responsibility.”

”Do you have any evidence in your hands to prove the authenticity of this intelligence?”

”No.” He shook his head decisively, ”I didn’t care about this matter at the time, so I didn’t use a shadow recording crystal to record the scene of the magical beasts rushing.

Hmm... I can wait until summer...”

”Then it will be too late.” Zhang Mu sat on the threshold, ”Joey is as anxious as if someone in his family died; he will definitely make a move next summer.”

”What about reporting it to the Royal Capital?”

”Solon has already used a sound transmission crystal to send the message, but I estimate there isn’t much hope.

Don’t even think about the army. Professionals coming to investigate... there is a probability, but the most likely outcome is that the Royal Capital will have no reaction.”

”Then what should we do?” Mihe sat next to him, ”The Resistance Army has finally stabilized, are we going to have to...”

”Don’t worry, I’m here.”

Zhang Mu stood up and patted his bottom: ”There might be a place where I need you when the time comes.”

”Please feel free to give orders.”

Nodding in response, he didn’t waste any more time and rushed back to the City Lord’s Mansion at full speed.

”Solon!”

As soon as he crossed the gate, he shouted.

About a minute later, Solon walked out of the main hall, and before Zhang Mu could speak, he said first: ”Lord City Lord, there is a reply from the Royal Capital.”

”Speak.”

”They warned us not to mess around.”

”As expected.” Zhang Mu smiled, ”Alright, don’t worry about the Royal Capital anymore; go do a favor for me.”

”Please speak, Lord City Lord.”

”Go find me a Professional who likes to study the principles of magic.”

”Huh?” He thought he was going to talk about strategies for defending against the enemy, but it turned out to be something completely unrelated.

Solon hesitated for a moment: ”Lord City Lord, may I ask one more question?”

”Ask.”

”Does this have anything to do with the trouble we are facing?”

”Of course.” Zhang Mu put his hands behind his back, ”If things go smoothly, no matter how many troops that so-called Lagu Kingdom sends, they will all die.”

Not knowing where his confidence came from, Solon was puzzled for a moment, bowed, and left: ”I will go handle it right now.”

As he crossed the gate, Zhang Mu reminded him loudly: ”Don’t just look in the city, check the construction site as well.”

”Understood.”

Nearby cities had been attacked and destroyed by the Magical Beast Tide, and the surviving citizens had all fled to Gur City, so he estimated that the probability of finding a suitable candidate would be much higher.

With everything arranged, Zhang Mu didn’t stay idle; he went to the study alone and closed the door.

Then he summoned a Portal to return to Blue Star and went to the bookstore to buy a full set of science textbooks.

Zhang Mu always liked to have a backup plan for everything he did.

After all, when it came to understanding the principles of magic, Zhang Mu, with his system panel, was not much worse than anyone else.

It was just that he had many things to attend to and couldn’t focus on researching the combination of technology and magic.

But one shouldn’t let a small problem stop them from moving forward; he planned to give Solon one week.

If finding someone yielded no results, Zhang Mu was prepared to do it himself, and delaying his progress in practicing his Meditation Method for this was a helpless move.

And during those seven days, he was also very busy.

The content in the textbooks was mostly quite basic.

If he wanted to learn cutting-edge knowledge systematically and quickly, he had to find a suitable place—nothing was better than a school.

Zhang Mu spent one day memorizing all the textbooks that were stacked higher than a person, then activated his Shadow Technique and rushed to the renowned science university.
