Extraordinary in Reality Through Magic Games

194: Chapter 192 I’ll teach you a lesson with Hogwarts magic. To be honest, Zhang Mu didn’t quite understand why the professor kept reminding him to keep it a secret, when it really wasn’t a big deal.

On the way from the office to the classroom, he hadn’t been able to figure it out either.

He simply stopped thinking about it.

Standing at the classroom door, he scanned the room and quickly spotted the beautiful Kaya sitting in her seat, surrounded by seven or eight people.

Her big wavy hair cascaded down to her waist.

Inside, where the central air conditioning was working hard, it felt like summer. She had draped her coat over the back of her chair and was wearing a skimpy little tank top.

It was quite ample.

Zhang Mu, who walked quickly to the table, was certainly not there because of the cleavage.

”Classmate Kaya, I have something I want to discuss with you privately.”

The students surrounding her were both male and female.

Some were leaning their butts against the desk, a few were standing, and the rest were sitting in the adjacent seats.

They had been chatting heatedly, but were drawn by the flat tone and all looked over at once.

”I remember you are... Gao, the Asian international student?” The girl looked him up and down.

Zhang Mu didn’t have time to deal with her and looked at Kaya: ”Is now a good time?”

”Gao, you are very rude.” The girl’s companion accused him with dissatisfaction.

”Hey, hey, don’t scare him.” Kaya quickly stood up from her wooden chair, comforted her Classmate whose expression had turned sour, and then asked, ”What are we talking about? Is the classroom inconvenient?”

”I think, probably not, um... Professor Puss.”

Kaya’s eyes flickered a few times: ”Okay, I understand... Let’s have lunch together, my treat.”

Nodding, Zhang Mu turned and walked toward the cafeteria.

He wasn’t worried that she would stand him up.

Since she, or perhaps the people behind her, were recruiting members, there was no reason for them to miss out on this ”fool” who had delivered himself to their doorstep.

Sure enough, not a minute after Zhang Mu arrived at the restaurant, Kaya came walking from afar, carrying a small shoulder bag.

”Gao, first I want to clarify that I was also a rejected applicant, so I can’t guarantee you’ll definitely be admitted. Professor Puss told you this, right?”

He hadn’t.

Zhang Mu muttered to himself, but replied aloud: ”Yes, I will bear all the consequences myself.”

”Then there’s no problem. Shall we go after lunch?”

”Now.”

She nodded, turned, walked toward the gate, and waved for Zhang Mu to follow.

The two, having no classes in the afternoon, successfully passed through the school gate, hailed a taxi on the roadside, and headed to the city center.

In the car, Zhang Mu wanted to ask about the ”Hogwarts America Branch,” but she seemed afraid the driver might overhear something, so she warned Zhang Mu with her eyes to shut up.

Seeing that she didn’t want to talk, Zhang Mu simply stopped asking.

On Blue Star, possessing the Shadow Technique and Transformation Technique, he wasn’t worried about any threat to his life at all.

Naturally, he didn’t need to fear being harmed by a bunch of scammers either.

He only wanted to ask beforehand out of curiosity.

The professor wasn’t foolish, and although Kaya usually acted a bit manipulative, one couldn’t doubt her intelligence since she had gotten into MIT on her own merits.

Although whether one gets scammed doesn’t entirely depend on intelligence, but rather on more life experience.

But Zhang Mu was truly curious. With himself having demonstrated magic as a template for a wizard, what methods did that group use to successfully fool them?

They couldn’t possibly be using the little trick of ”creating fire from thin air” with white phosphorus, like in historical time-travel novels, to stun them, could they?

That would be too insulting to a physics professor and an MIT student.

The two remained silent; only the hum of the taxi’s engine could be heard. After driving into the city, the speed slowed down significantly.

Fortunately, the destination wasn’t far. After crawling through traffic for an hour, the taxi stopped at the entrance of a commercial street.

Kaya paid for the taxi.

This made Zhang Mu even more interested.

She was usually addicted to gold-digging and couldn’t pull herself away, although sometimes, for the sake of playing hard to get, she would proactively pay for small things.

For example, movie tickets or bubble tea—cheap things that could show she was considerate without hurting her wallet.

But ”Gao’s” persona clearly didn’t fit her standards for a mark.

It seemed that the scammer organization had promised many benefits.

Zhang Mu, deep in thought, followed her into the commercial street and turned into a narrow alley, barely wide enough for one person’s shoulders, where few people went.

After about five minutes, they reached the end.

In front of them was a wooden door carved with complex patterns.

In the narrow alley, where turning around would brush against the shoulders, Kaya didn’t want the moss on the walls to get on her expensive down jacket. So she said to Zhang Mu with her back to him:

”Don’t speak after we go in. I will communicate with the Hogwarts wizard, understand?”

”Mm.”

”Also, everything inside must be kept secret.”

”Mm.”

She was satisfied with his reply, didn’t say anything more, and raised her hand to knock on the door.

With two ”knock-knock” sounds, the door was pulled inward, opening a gap that one could only pass through by turning sideways.

Kaya squeezed in sideways, and Zhang Mu did the same.

Behind the door was a dim corridor, and a person of indeterminate gender, dressed in a Hogwarts wizard robe and holding a teaching rod staff, turned and walked inside.

Zhang Mu, walking behind, scanned the surroundings with his Mental Energy.

They were all ordinary rooms, and there weren’t many people—about a dozen.

Withdrawing his Mental Energy, Zhang Mu muttered to himself that this wasn’t simple, as he and Kaya were led by the ”wizard” into a spacious room.

The ceiling was lit with incandescent lights, and there was only a wooden stool in the middle.

The ”wizard” turned around, their gaze, hidden in the hood, scrutinizing Zhang Mu for a few seconds: ”This applicant is not bad.”

Kaya’s face showed joy, and she opened her mouth to say something, but Zhang Mu asked first: ”Can I witness some magic?”

”Damn it! I said, don’t...”

”Heh heh...” The man in the robe laughed in a low voice, ”Are you questioning Hogwarts?”

”I am convinced that Hogwarts exists. I just hope to witness magic. Also, I want to know if I have the aptitude to learn magic.”

”Magic can only be seen by those with exceptional talent.”

”Then I definitely can.” Zhang Mu shrugged, ”I can see the old car flying in the sky from the news, as well as those Owls.”

”That’s different. They aren’t seen by you; they are captured by the lens. You are looking at the perspective of the camera. What I mean by seeing is witnessing it with your own eyes in reality.”

A bit confused, Zhang Mu asked the ”wizard”: ”What happens if I see it?”

”To witness is to be able to cast. If you can’t see, it means you are foolish enough. If you can see but can’t cast, it means your wisdom is exceptional, but you still lack the timing. You can try again in the future.”

He was stunned and turned to ask Kaya: ”You couldn’t see it, so you were rejected?”

”No...” She looked dejected, ”I could see it, but I couldn’t cast it.”

Holy shit?! Zhang Mu gasped. What kind of modern version of The Emperor’s New Clothes is this?

Seeing his incredulous expression, the ”wizard” chuckled again: ”You still seem to be questioning.”

As he spoke, he raised his teaching rod staff: ”Fireball Spell! How is it? What did you see?”

”Uh, if I say I can’t see it, it means I’m stupid. If I say I can see it, but you didn’t cast any magic at all, then naturally I can’t cast any magic either. Aren’t you just scamming people?”

Why are you telling such brutal truths!

The ”wizard” trembled with anger: ”I will use Hogwarts magic to teach you a lesson!”
