Chapter 194: Chapter 124: Legion Overhaul (Part 3)

Zero: [Connecting... Connected.]

Baiyi spoke calmly without wasting words, ”I have officially become the City Lord. There will be some orders issued by the Finance Officer in the coming days, please cooperate. Additionally, report all city affairs every three months. I need to see detailed data; everything should be according to the laws and military regulations of Dongwu City. There’s no need to report work frequently in other times.”

After receiving confirmations one by one, Baiyi decisively cut off the communication and asked: [How’s the analysis of the Divine War going?]

Zero: [The high-level combat has been fully analyzed. Next time there’s a battle of this level, Zero will activate auxiliary combat mode and take control of the tiny machines.]

Baiyi walked out of the laboratory, entered the workshop, collected this month’s Solar Energy, and took away the various materials that Or had been refining.

The micro-machines inevitably suffered damage in every battle, so this group of skeletons continued to work day and night.

The only difference was that Or was not as exhausted as before. Though its strength had not grown with the resources, it was more than sufficient to create more skeletons.

Back in the lab, Baiyi started replenishing the micro-machines. This was crucial, as the fighting power of the Light Side depended primarily on them.

As for everything else, it still needed time to ferment.

The news of Baiyi becoming the City Lord of Dongwu City began to spread wildly online. Meanwhile, Sabo organized Baiyi’s requirements, directly elevating the legion’s benefits to the standard of the Capital City’s Law Enforcement Team.

The Bronze Lower Tier remained the same at two hundred, with Sabo’s reason being that this group lacked ambition. In the future, the legion might not even have slots for the Bronze Lower Tier.

However, the pay for the Middle Tier directly doubled to a thousand Gold Coins per month, and the Upper Tier’s also doubled to two thousand Gold Coins, which was the salary of 90% of the Dawn Federation’s Silver Level Warriors.

For Bronze Level creatures, these Gold Coins were enough to abundantly purchase various knowledge and materials, and even spare enough to visit the Red House regularly.

The Silver Level, even more baffling, with Lower Tier at four thousand, Middle Tier at eight thousand, and Upper Tier at thirty thousand—enough to purchase many Golden Level knowledge, and generally, Golden Level equipment was priced around this amount.

Saving for a year and going to the black market might, with luck, even allow one to purchase a Soul Crystal Core—a top-tier resource inaccessible to 99% of people.

As for Gold, each Gold requires only high-end resources, and even many small city City Lords do not reach Gold, which is why small cities lack a voice.

Adding the battle merit system, where other places couldn’t see what could be exchanged, plus extra subsidies for Mages and Alchemists.

There was also a special legion named Whisper, although only thirty thousand strong, its characteristic was potential with no further advancement, personally transformed by City Lord Baiyi, becoming Dongwu City’s sharp sword.

This had a deadly allure for the Federation, which esteemed strength above all.

All these news released at once left the entire network in awe of Dongwu City’s grandeur, then erupted like a tidal wave.

A mass migration from each city to Dongwu City formed instantly.

The online criticisms toward Sabo from small cities quickly vanished.

Because it seemed they realized where the money ultimately flowed.

That money went into their pockets, or at least had the chance to flow there.

As a result, people spontaneously started forming a Sabo support group online, urging Sabo to do things in their city too, so that the military slots could be further widened.

The entire Federation of eight hundred million people, with at least one hundred million Transcendents, had only one hundred and eighty thousand slots, too few.

And all the Federation’s legions quietly turned their gaze towards their Legion Commander.

While the Legion Commander turned their gaze to the Finance Officer.

Finally, the Finance Officer, grumbling, went to find their City Lord, got reprimanded, then grumbled online.

They were the ones who suffered the most, shivering between the Legion Commander and the City Lord.

This whole scenario, including other Border Cities, directly transferred a wave of animosity towards Sabo which belonged to the Finance Officers.
