Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1791: Chapter 1791: Heavenly Fire Goes Wild

Although she had been focusing all her attention on studying Array Formation Technique during this period, she had not neglected other Alchemy Technique, Alchemy Technique, Sealing Technique and various strange and mysterious arts, all of which she had branded into her mind. As she pondered, Han Yan simultaneously formed hand gestures.

Because she was only making some modifications and fusions on the original foundation, she did not need an Alchemy Furnace and could directly rely on Chaos Heavenly Fire.

Following her hand gestures, the Cangxuan Cloud Silk slowly floated in front of her. The Chaos Heavenly Fire left Han Yan’s fingertips, swaying as it hovered beneath the Cangxuan Cloud Silk. A fire-red blaze rolled like waves of flame, wrapping the entire Cangxuan Cloud Silk within. The originally golden, cloudlike light gauze turned fire-red and became almost transparent.

The Power of Laws on the Divine Continent was pure and direct. The Five Great Divine Temples of Life, Death, Light, Ice Sealing, and Earth respectively symbolized the Power of Laws of Life, Death, Fire, Water, and Earth. Beyond these, there were also various Powers of Laws such as Wind, Thunder, Fog, and so on, which in turn influenced and extended each other, making the Power of Laws even more intricate and complex.

The first Law Han Yan began Cultivation with was the Fire Law, which she also used with the greatest proficiency. Her hand gestures continuously formed, and the surging waves of fire condensed into one fire-red rune after another, attaching themselves to the Cangxuan Cloud Silk, their light dazzling and piercing to the eye.

Han Yan paused, letting out a long breath. After all, this was her first time refining a Magic Artifact on the Divine Continent, so she was particularly cautious, afraid of the slightest mistake. The Cangxuan Cloud Silk was the lifelong crystallization of her Master Pang Dezong’s painstaking effort. Although he had not fully refined it and calling it a Divine Artifact was somewhat of an exaggeration, every material used was of the finest grade. If she ruined it, she would feel distressed.

After carefully checking and confirming that nothing had gone wrong, Han Yan began to form another set of hand gestures. What she had just used was the Fire Law, whereas now it was the Wind Law. Relying on the most core Xuanhuang Energy left behind by the Xuanhuang Stone, she could act without being limited by her cultivation, comprehending and wielding any Power of Laws. However, her time Cultivating Priest Divine Technique was still short, and her command of the Wind Law was far less skillful than that of the Fire Law, so she was all the more cautious.

Forming hand gestures slowly, one nearly transparent rune appeared before her eyes after another. Han Yan heightened her Divine Sense to the utmost, controlling a rune to fly toward the Cangxuan Cloud Silk. Laws were inherently most profound and mysterious, and fusing two kinds of Power of Laws into one carried enormous risk. The slightest carelessness could cause the Cangxuan Cloud Silk to explode into a pile of fragments due to the mutual repulsion of the Powers of Laws.

The Wind Rune slowly flew toward the Cangxuan Cloud Silk. The Fire Runes originally attached to it suddenly flickered, emitting a series of crisp ”crackle, crackle” sounds, like the noise of dry firewood burning. It felt as if the entire Cangxuan Cloud Silk had begun to burn, and Han Yan clearly sensed the repulsion between the two Powers of Laws.

It should be known that the two runes had only drawn close and had not yet fully attached to the Cangxuan Cloud Silk, yet their repulsion was already so intense. Han Yan could be certain that if she forced this Wind Rune into the Cangxuan Cloud Silk, this Demigod Artifact famed for its formidable defensive power would immediately explode into fragments.

It seemed that the Alchemy Technique she had learned from the Book Collection Hall had not been sufficiently comprehended; re-refining the Cangxuan Cloud Silk was not going to be easy.

Han Yan had no choice but to halt her hand gestures for the time being, close her eyes, and once again concentrate her Divine Sense to feel the Fire Magic Technique she had previously infused into the Cangxuan Cloud Silk. Only when the two kinds of Magic Power achieved a subtle equilibrium could they be simultaneously bestowed upon the Cangxuan Cloud Silk, allowing her to refine it anew.

After a long while, Han Yan opened her eyes and once again formed hand gestures. Very quickly, one nearly transparent Wind Rune after another appeared again, slowly flying toward the Cangxuan Cloud Silk. This time the situation was much improved. The Fire Runes were very calm and did not emit any ”crackle, crackle” sounds. However, just at the instant before the Wind Rune was about to be infused, the entire Cangxuan Cloud Silk trembled violently. A wave of fire roared up, and Han Yan could even feel within it the scorching and fierce Law Aura.

Han Yan was startled, stopping in the split second before the Cangxuan Cloud Silk burst apart. Even so, that fierce wave of fire still flickered for a while before slowly fading away under Han Yan’s anxious gaze.

Fortunately, the worst result had not occurred. Han Yan wiped the cold sweat from her forehead.

Although she had failed twice and the Cangxuan Cloud Silk had nearly been destroyed, Han Yan did not easily give up. After resting for a while, she once again formed hand gestures.

Unfortunately, in the next several attempts, she still failed again and again.

Han Yan could not help becoming somewhat impatient. With the Chaos Heavenly Fire, she could wield the Power of Laws without limitation, yet even so she continued to fail repeatedly. Without the Chaos Heavenly Fire, she did not know how long she would have to wait before she might possibly re-temper the Cangxuan Cloud Silk. Fortunately, Han Yan had been a good-for-nothing for over ten years. Otherwise, suddenly encountering such setbacks, she would likely have already become utterly disheartened.

The Chaos Heavenly Fire swayed and flickered from side to side. Han Yan could feel that, after failing again and again, it too had become annoyed. As befits the Source of Ten Thousand Flames, it could actually develop irritable emotions like a living being.

”Don’t be anxious, let me think it over some more. I’m bound to succeed.” Han Yan withdrew her hand gestures once again, offering a word of comfort to the Chaos Heavenly Fire, sounding more like she was comforting herself.

As soon as her words fell, that tiny flame surged in the wind, once more rising into a wave of almost transparent fire.

”What are you doing?” Han Yan was startled, having no time at all to stop it, and saw countless runes suddenly appear, shooting straight toward the Cangxuan Cloud Silk.

And Han Yan also sensed the Chaos Heavenly Fire’s uncontrollable fury, just like a child who repeatedly fails at a game and suddenly flies into a rage.

It’s over. Seeing those Wind Runes leaping forth one after another, Han Yan felt a chill in her heart.

To simultaneously imbue a Magic Artifact with Law Runes of two different attributes, not only must the magnitude of power maintain a delicate balance, but the distance between them must also be exquisitely precise down to a hair’s breadth. The slightest deviation would shatter that fragile balance.

This was precisely the reason she had failed time after time. Once the Chaos Heavenly Fire erupted like this, what balance could there be? It would be strange if it didn’t destroy the Cangxuan Cloud Silk.

Although it could at most be considered a Demigod Artifact, far inferior to Divine Artifacts such as the Glazed Glass Holy Robe, the Cangxuan Cloud Silk was nonetheless Han Yan’s first Protective Magical Artifact. For her to have weathered countless perils and advanced step by step to where she stood now, the Cangxuan Cloud Silk had rendered great service. To have it destroyed just like that, Han Yan could not help feeling a pang of heartache.

With a muffled boom, all the Wind Runes were blasted into the Cangxuan Cloud Silk, and a strange radiance abruptly blossomed, so bright that one could hardly keep their eyes open.

Yet no crisp sound of a Magic Artifact shattering reached her ears. Han Yan rubbed her eyes and was astonished to discover that the Cangxuan Cloud Silk was actually completely unharmed.
