Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1755: Chapter 1755: Come On! Not Coming.

”It was Priest Ling who said that actual combat is the best way to enhance one’s strength, so we must go all out in sparring and never hold back,” Shen Yuhe said.

”I just said it casually; who knew you’d take it seriously,” Ling Baobao retorted irritably as he tugged at his injury, taking sharp breaths from the pain.

Han Yan glanced at Ling Baobao with mild exasperation, thinking that this guy probably thought his Martial Arts were strong, and after learning a few days of martial combat techniques, wanted to find someone to bully for fun. He didn’t expect to meet Shen Yuhe, a hidden violent powerhouse, and ended up being harshly beaten instead.

”By the way, where did you learn the martial combat technique you just used? It seems different from what we learned,” Han Yan wondered, noticing that Shen Yuhe’s combat skills were not much different from those taught by Mu Tu, yet remarkably superior. She had long felt that her martial combat technique was extremely simplified, which piqued her interest in Shen Yuhe’s technique.

”It’s just the traditional martial combat technique passed down through our Huayu Temple generations. Originally, with my strength, there was no need to cultivate so early, but after seeing Master Priest and Long Wudang sparring, I found martial combat techniques useful and practiced them a bit,” Shen Yuhe casually replied, but the excitement in her eyes was unmistakable.

Han Yan suddenly wondered if the scene of her fighting sparked the hidden violent nature in this seemingly gentle Right Priest’s heart.

”Let’s spar a bit, then,” Han Yan became more curious upon hearing her response.

”Sure!” Shen Yuhe cheered, but soon hesitated, fiddling with her sleeve and bashfully said, ”It’s not good to spar with Master Priest, right?”

”No worries, does the Master Priest not need to spar to enhance strength?” Watching Shen Yuhe’s pretended gentleness and cuteness, Han Yan couldn’t help but laugh.

”Well, okay then.” Shen Yuhe continued pretending to be shy and cute, but Han Yan could see her eagerness in her eyes.

”Make your move,” Han Yan stepped back a few steps, ready to engage.

”Then I won’t hold back. Be careful, Master Priest,” Shen Yuhe pivoted on her foot, her palms fluttering like petals, aimed at Han Yan’s chest.

Whether it was the footwork or hand skill, it was far more refined than the crude martial combat technique Mu Tu taught, no wonder Ling Baobao suffered so much.

However, Han Yan’s sword technique was already superb, and although she learned martial combat techniques from Mu Tu, her personal understanding made it far from ordinary.

With just a slight shift, she easily dodged.

”Eh!” Shen Yuhe suppressed a gasp; although she hadn’t been cultivating this martial combat technique for long, she was quite proficient from years of exposure. Earlier, she bewildered the self-assured Ling Baobao, leaving him utterly defenseless, yet she didn’t expect Han Yan to evade so easily.

Before she recovered from the shock, she suddenly felt light, realizing Han Yan had caught her wrist and tossed her out.

”Ah!” Shen Yuhe exclaimed loudly, causing the few young priests watching outside to shout too.

Despite the Spirit Cultivation Hall being spacious, Shen Yuhe was hurled out without defense, bound to collide bloodily.

Flying uncontrollably towards the stone wall, Shen Yuhe’s face turned pale, her hands flailing wildly. But just as she was about to crash, Han Yan suddenly appeared before her, pressing gently on her shoulder, stabilizing her on the ground.

Han Yan was merely curious about the Huayu Temple’s traditional martial combat technique and had no intention of avenging Ling Baobao.

”Again!” Although Shen Yuhe’s martial combat technique posed no threat, its intricate skill deepened Han Yan’s interest.

”This time, I’ll be serious, Master Priest be cautious,” Shen Yuhe dared not be careless, spinning her form, both palms swiftly striking again.

This time, her hand skill and footwork were even more exquisite, causing even Han Yan to feel overwhelmed. Yet, relying on profound foundation and real combat experience, she still easily dodged, swinging her arm to toss Shen Yuhe away again.

Fortunately, this time Shen Yuhe was prepared, not panicking and screaming, spinning in the air a few times before lightly landing on the ground.

”Again!” Seeing her martial combat technique incapable of harming Han Yan, Shen Yuhe let herself go and attacked once more.

In the temple, two figures dashed and maneuvered like phantoms, mesmerizing the crowd. The priests gathering at the entrance grew, watching Han Yan and Shen Yuhe’s nimble movements and intricate combat skills, all astonished.

In general views, only commoners without hope of becoming priests focused on martial combat technique cultivation. Even amidst advancing strength, high-level priests would practice a bit, mainly as auxiliary, without prioritizing martial combat, often preferring Magic Artifacts over martial combat.

As priests of Huayu Temple, they held pride, naturally scoffing at martial combat techniques. Until today, they realized martial combat could be so refined; it seemed Han Yan’s past triumph over Long Wudang was not solely deceit. If well-cultivated, martial combat techniques were quite useful, capable of achieving unexpected victories.

”No more, no more.” Once again gently tossed by Han Yan, Shen Yuhe wiped sweat from her forehead, waving her hands.

Despite giving it her all, she knew well that she was no match for Han Yan. If not for Han Yan holding back, her condition now might be worse than Ling Baobao’s.

”Alright.” Han Yan had to stop.

Clearly, Shen Yuhe was proficient in martial combat techniques yet had only seriously cultivated them for a few days without fully comprehending or utilizing their power; continued sparring would be bullying.

”By the way, Master Priest, have you learned this Eight Desolate Divine Demise?” Shen Yuhe asked Han Yan curiously while wiping her sweat.

”What Eight Desolate Divine Demise?” Han Yan was slightly startled and asked.

”It’s the martial combat technique I just used. I don’t know what the ancestors were thinking when they named it, not fearing Lord Divine’s reproach. My grandfather told me when I was young that this martial combat technique evolved from a divine arts move. That divine arts move was called Eight Desolate God Fall, only because it was so marvelous that no one could comprehend it, leading to its simplification into martial combat. Even our Huayu Temple’s Array Formation and Elixir Technique have some connection to this divine arts move.”
