Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1031: Chapter 1031: Dare to Slap Her Face?!

On the way to Flying Peak, fearing unforeseen dangers, Han Yan left them in Fang Village, arriving just in time for Mu Nan and Yu Qingwan’s affairs, followed by the Guiyu Clan’s incident, without having the chance to attend to them until now.

”When you went to Flying Peak last time, they received orders from the Zong Family to return to the Capital for the admissions to Long Yan Academy, which were to be held earlier. I have prepared the Purple Heart Ganlu Grass they needed and let them take it back with them,” answered Family Head Fang.

”Long Yan Academy’s admissions to be held earlier?” Han Yan had not heard of this matter.

”Yes, I’m not sure why. It’s unprecedented in thousands of years for them to hold admissions early. Did something happen at the academy?” Family Head Fang was equally puzzled.

Upon hearing this, others were also puzzled.

At that moment, a commotion arose outside, mixed with thudding sounds suggesting fighting.

”What’s happening?” Family Head Fang showed displeasure and asked the guard at the door.

”I don’t know, it seems like someone is causing trouble. I’ll go check,” the guard said.

”No need, we will take a look ourselves,” Han Yan stood up and said.

Being Fang Village, her territory enriched by the ever-thriving strange flowers and herbs from Flying Peak, the Fang Family’s Workshop under Nanyan Commerce was prospering day by day; how could she allow anyone to cause trouble here?

Quickly, a group headed to the outside of the workshop.

A dozen Fang Family disciples, with longswords in hand, faced off against three young men, while several workshop guards lay on the ground, expressions of pain, evidently heavily injured.

A semi-circle of cultivators and merchants who came to Fang Family’s Workshop glared angrily at the young men, but dared not speak out.

”What’s going on here?” Family Head Fang frowned as he looked at the three young men and asked.

Han Yan glanced at the three, her expression slightly sharp.

The three were around eighteen or nineteen, all carrying longswords. Though their attire was simple in style, the exquisite embroidery at the edges indicated premium quality, and all were physically fit with restrained auras, clearly Sword Masters, if Han Yan wasn’t mistaken.

Yet this wasn’t surprising; the Capital had many experts, and the Eight Great Families were full of talents. Sword Masters of this age were not rare.

The oddity was their attire, which seemed unmistakably like protective gear.

Three Sword Master level guards; not even Huayue’s recent promotion to Sword Master, nor the ostentation Han Yan could afford. One can understand why Family Head Fang restrained his anger, unsure of their identity, avoiding enemy formation before clarifying.

”Family Head, we have no idea where they came from. They just asked if the front was Anyun City upon arrival. Perceiving them as suspicious, we casually inquired about their origin, but they weren’t pleased and injured several brothers,” said a guard with relatively minor injuries angrily.

”May I know your esteemed names and families? Even if our Fang Family’s Workshop guards were disrespectful in their greeting, it wasn’t fair to harm others like this,” Family Head Fang, though concerned about their identities, spoke with restrained anger.

”Old man, you don’t need to ask about our identities, just tell us if the front is Anyun City,” said a young man of extremely robust stature impatiently.

”How dare you, attacking people without cause and still being so arrogant!” yelled a swordsman in the crowd, no longer able to tolerate them.

”Don’t agree? Then come and try me,” the young man laughed loudly, grasping his sword handle in reverse.

His insane demeanor enraged the crowd further, yet the sight of the sword handle silenced them.

Han Yan and the others hadn’t seen the earlier fight, but those present saw it clearly. The Fang Family’s Workshop guards weren’t that skilled, yet fallen before seeing how the other struck, it wasn’t a fight but one-sided violence.

Among the crowd were Sword Masters, but none could handle the guards so quickly, much less bring shame upon themselves by trying.

”Seen rumors of Anyun weak within, except old guys showing grand faces, the younger generation all slackers, today’s sight confirms this,” mocked another young man, seeing the timid crowd.

”Are you Anyun people?” shocked, Family Head Fang blurted out.

”Indeed, we are from Shangyue Country,” replied another young man. This one seemed much calmer, though his brow expressed greater arrogance.

”What, they are from Shangyue Country!” Everyone was astonished upon hearing this.

While the Holy Court Continent’s borders were not particularly guarded nor restricted for cultivators, traveling to another country rarely required documents. Yet Anyun and Shangyue were different; since that war a thousand years ago, the two nations completely severed ties, blocking even the ancient trade routes used for thousands of years.

Both in nobility or commoners alike of both countries, see each other as deadly enemies, rarely setting foot on each other’s land.

Hearing these three were from Shangyue Country, everyone showed hostile expressions.

Even knowing they weren’t their equal opponents, facing national hatred and family feud, dignity and ethics of a swordsman could be ignored, just a crowd assault was needed.

”Here’s our embassy documents,” he showed no intent of a massive brawl, producing documents arrogantly.

Embassy! Everyone looked at the documents, indeed stamped by the Dragon Seal of Anyun’s current ruler, indeed embassy documents.

”Are the two nations preparing to restore diplomatic ties?” Seeing the documents, the crowd ready to fight restrained their impulse.

Near Capital, even regular people were knowledgeable; knowing nations had no permanent enemies or friends, but national interests above all. Realizing a re-establishment of ties benefits both Anyun and Shangyue countries and their people, no old hatred could ruin it.

”Why show them now, I wanted to have fun first,” the robust, most arrogant young man said unhappily seeing documents.

”Want fun, plenty of chances later, but don’t mess with His Highness’s affairs now,” the leader reprimanded in a low voice. He seemed the head among three.

”Lucky them, let them go this time,” mocked the robust man facing the crowd.

”Let’s go, our path from Shangyue to Anyun isn’t many, this one should be the ancient, abandoned trade route. Wonder if His Highness has reached ahead, let’s not delay,” the leader said.

With that, he led the way towards Anyun City, the other two disappointedly followed, showing reluctance.

”Injured Anyun citizens unjustly, and now you want to leave just like that?” Qu Shanling couldn’t hold anymore, shouting angrily.

Staying at Fang Village days ago, cared by guards who became family, he as a worldly God-man knew connections among people of various trades, calling each brotherly.

Seeing these Shangyue injure guards without reason, without apology, turning to leave, Qu Shanling couldn’t endure.

”You can leave after receiving equivalent injuries for injuring my people,” Han Yan coldly spoke.

Doesn’t everybody know Big Playboy Mu is most protective?
