Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

”The Family Head and the two elders were indeed not mistaken; Brother Han Yan is truly admirable for his courage,” Mu Ze sneered. Seeing Mu Hanyan’s bold and vigorous demeanor, Mu Ze was filled with both envy and jealousy. He had always been prematurely old in his behavior, accustomed to acting mature and considering everything thrice before acting. It was rare for him to behave so spiritedly.

With a cold smile on his face, Mu Ze sneered inwardly. Hmph, don’t think your strength as a Sixth-tier Swordsman is so great. The other person is a Sword Master, a whole realm above you, and not somebody you can compare to, like Jiang Yuzhe with his mere silver-like wax-gun head. When the time comes, you’ll be beaten so badly even your mother won’t recognize you.

While criticizing in his heart, Mu Ze completely forgot something. Yesterday, the very man he called a silver-like wax-gun head, Jiang Yuzhe, had frightened him so much that he couldn’t even hold his sword steady, having not an ounce of courage to fight.

”Overpraise, this time I must let the Family Head and the two elders know they didn’t choose the wrong person,” Mu Hanyan chuckled, his laugh even brighter than the sun, like a person who was lifted so high into the sky they couldn’t differentiate between east and south. It was as if he hadn’t caught the sarcasm in Mu Ze’s words, which infuriated Mu Ze enough to feel pain in his liver and lungs.

Mounting his fine horse, Mu Hanyan took the lead and headed for Xiushui City.

Behind him, Mu Yuying and Mu Xitian, along with a few others, exchanged surprised looks. They had intended to caution Mu Hanyan, advising him not to be willful if circumstances did not permit. But it seemed that the Big Playboy Mu might have been lightheaded from yesterday’s victory, riled up by Mu Ze’s words, which mixed flattery with provocation. Without giving them a chance to persuade, he rushed headlong into the unknown toward Xiushui City.

”Alas, I hope the Young City Lord exercises some restraint. It’s no big deal to get beaten up, but it’s important to bring him back in one piece,” thought Mu Yuying and the others unanimously.

Hua Yuezi and Mu Nan, on the other hand, seemed utterly confident. Others did not understand Mu Hanyan; did they not know him? This Eldest Young Master Mu, the more he acted without a plan, the surer he was of himself. Those who consequently underestimated him would end up in big trouble.

Fourth Miss Zhao and Yuan Tianbo were prime examples. Often, in the midst of their smugness, he would trick them into a miserable plight.

Jiang Yuzhe glanced at Mu Hanyan, who seemed to be rushing ahead blindly, and then at the carefree Hua Yuezi and the others, who showed not a trace of worry. Tilting his head pensively, he followed along.

There were considerably more people this time, which slowed their pace compared to Mu Hanyan’s lone travel. It was not until the afternoon that they reached Xiushui City.

”Please inform Lord City Master that Mu Hanyan of the Mu Family from Heishi City requests an audience,” Mu Hanyan said to the guard stationed at the city gate.

Coincidentally, the guard was the same one Mu Hanyan had intimidated with his longsword the previous night to lead the way.

”So, it’s Young Master Mu. The City Lord has instructed that if anyone from the Mu Family arrives, they should be led to him immediately,” the guard said obsequiously to Mu Hanyan.

The guard had been frightened out of his wits by Mu Hanyan’s longsword the night before. Moreover, he’d heard that the City Lord had a certain preference for men and that his object of affection was precisely Mu Hanyan, the Eldest Young Master Mu of the Mu Family. How could the guard dare to slack off?

”It seems like Lord City Master doesn’t have much animosity towards us. Isn’t this quite polite?” Seeing the guard’s respectful and almost sycophantic attitude, Mu Yuying’s mood lightened a lot as she whispered.

”Indeed, maybe things aren’t as bad as we thought,” Mu Xitian nodded and said.
